Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows premiered last night in Los Angeles. Most of the film’s stars (except for Jude Law, whom I missed!) were on hand to support the new movie.
Rachel McAdams looks absolutely flawless in a silver Marchesa gown. I love her hair! She looks beautiful!
Robert Downey Jr. and his pregnant wife were also on hand.
Noomi Rapace - otherwise known as the “true Lisbeth Salander” in the Swedish ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ trilogy was also on hand. Noomi wore a Valentine gown, which I’m on the fence about. I don’t love it – but I don’t hate it either.
Check out some of the other stars below, including Guy Ritchie, who directed the film.
Today we have our first look at ‘The Avengers’, Marvel’s epic superhero movie. The film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as the evil Loki and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.
In a recent interview, Evans told The Huffington Post that he wasn’t sure what to think of the film before shooting began, but he’s more than happy with the result.
“Going into it, you’re like, who knows? I don’t know how this is gonna go,” he admitted. “There’s a lot of big actors, a lot of big egos, everyone has their own thing going. I can’t say enough; it couldn’t have gone better. I have high hopes. I hope it’s awesome.”
Assuring us that the film balanced action and substance, he shouted out Whedon, creator of “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and fanboy pinup, for his work putting it together.
“It’s not easy trying to bring all those characters together and find a story, but the best thing about Joss is that Joss is a fan, Joss is a comic book guy,” he said. “It feels so nice working with a guy that is well, the people I am trying to please is Joss. Joss is one of those dudes. And if Joss is happy with the dialog, if Joss is happy with the wardrobe, if Joss is happy, then I’m happy. Because he’s Comic-Con, he’s one of these dudes who would be in the audience geeking out, so if he’s happy, I’m happy.”
I love superhero movies. GOOD superhero movies, that is. I truly hope this movie is better than the trailer. The trailer is…. boring! Isn’t it? After watching the trailer – I found myself thinking “that’s it?”.
With all that talent – I was really hoping the trailer would just blow me away. But it didn’t. There wasn’t anything spectacular about it.
Watch the trailer below! Also – here are a bunch of pictures from the set back in September.
The cast of the upcoming movie “The Avengers” were busy on set as they prepare to film for the super-hero packed thriller in New York. Cast includes Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Robert Downey Jr. (IronMan), Chris Evans (Captain America), Tom Hiddleson (Loki), Stellan Skarsgard (Prof. Erik Selvig), and Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner).
Robert Downey Jr. and his wife of six years, Susan Downey, are pregnant with their first child. According to their rep, Susan is due in February.
Oscar-nominated Downey, 46, has a 17-year-old son, Indio, from his first wife Deborah Falconer.
The good news just keeps coming for Downey, who has been enjoying an incredible career resurgence after kicking his drug and alcohol addiction over six years ago.
He doesn’t take his sobriety and blessings for granted.
“Looking back, I think, ‘Oh my God, I could have been done. I could have been so fried and so bad off and, oh my God, such a cautionary tale,’” he told Playboy in October. “And I still could be.”
“My age and my recent set of experiences … have left me feeling I’m in the zone,” said the actor. “This is just the sweet spot of my career and my life so far, and strangely, they’ve come at the same time.”
After the first ‘Sherlock Holmes’ movie made over $500 million dollars, a sequel was a sure-thing. The new Sherlock Holmes follows 2009′s huge hit starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.
Robert Downey, Jr. is back with another turn in his charming take on the super sleuth, donning a British accent and employing his trademark wry wit to give life to a Holmes more like his Tony Stark Iron Man character than 19th century wise man. Back as well is Jude Law’s bemused version of sidekick Watson.
The villain this time is two-fold: first, “Mad Men” star Jared Harris, as wildly evil Professor Moriarty; and second, whichever makeup designer who decided to give Downey blue eyeshadow for his head-turning scenes in drag. A pretty woman, he does not make.
Sherlock Holmes‘ greatest mystery: why is Robert Downey, Jr. dressed in drag?
Entertainment Tonight visited the set of the sequel of the hit film, ‘Sherlock Holmes,’ finding Downey, Jr. and co-star Jude Law in the midst of action, and in Downey, Jr.’s case, in the midst of cross dressing.
It’s all part of Sherlock’s new array of disguises — and one that the star himself suggested.
“I’ll just speak for myself, because I might be the exception in this,” Downey, Jr. says. “I have really humbled myself in the face of trying to do this again correctly.”
Later in the video, Downey takes his shirt off, making for a complete transformation.
