Legendary Las Vegas performer Danny Gans’ cause of death has been ruled an accidental overdose of pain medication.

The Clark County Coroner said Danny officially died from hydromorphone toxicity due to chronic pain syndrome — and that he also suffered from high blood pressure and a red blood cell disorder.

Danny died on May 1 at his home after a family member called 911 to say he was having trouble breathing. By the time paramedics arrived, it was too late.

David Carradine’s Family Asks For FBI’s Help

carradine.jpg

The FBI has offered its assistance to Thai authorities investigating Thursday’s death of actor David Carradine, agency officials tell PEOPLE.

After Carradine’s half-brother, Keith Carradine, met Friday with FBI officials in Los Angeles, those officials contacted the FBI’s legal attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok “to determine if the Thai authorities are requesting or would welcome FBI assistance in this matter,” FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimilller tells PEOPLE. She adds there is no word yet as to whether Thai authorities will invite the FBI to join their investigation.

The FBI has no jurisdiction in other countries, but occasionally offers assistance investigating the deaths of Americans when foul play is suspected or when the family requests such intervention.

Keith Carradine, 59, “wants authorities to investigate his brother’s death, and to determine if anyone else was involved,” says Keith Carradine’s attorney, Mark Geragos, who arranged Friday’s meeting with the FBI.

Geragos tells PEOPLE that Keith and other family members are finding the grieving process even more difficult because they keep getting conflicting details regarding the condition of Carradine’s body when it was discovered. (more…)

Police: David Carradine May Have Died of Accidental Suffocation

fp_3107728_carradine_archive_fp_060409.jpg

David Carradine’s death continues to get more mysterious.

On Friday, Thai police said that the 72-year-old actor’s body was found in a luxury hotel room closet with a rope tied to his neck and genitals.

They added that his death may have been caused by accidental suffocation.

“The two ropes were tied together,” Police Lt. Gen. Worapong Chewprecha said. “It is unclear whether he committed suicide or not or he died of suffocation or heart failure.”

Results from Friday’s autopsy will not be ready for at least three weeks because the cause of death remains unclear.

Police initially said they suspected Carradine, best known for his role as Kwai Chang Caine on the 1970s TV series Kung Fu, had committed suicide, despite the actor’s close friends and family’s strong denials. (He had been in Thailand shooting a movie, Stretch.)

“All we can say is, we know David would never have committed suicide,” Tiffany Smith — of Binder & Associates, his management company — told the Associated Press. “We’re just waiting for them to finish the investigation and find out what really happened. He really appreciated everything life has to give … and that’s not something David would ever do to himself.”

David Carradine found dead in Bangkok hotel room

“Kung Fu” and “Kill Bill” star David Carradine was found hung in a closet in a hotel room in Bangkok on Wednesday, Thai police said.

Police believed he committed suicide.

Carradine, 72, was in Bangkok to shoot a movie and stayed at a Suite Room 352 of the Park Nai Lert Hotel on Wireless Road since June 2.

The film crew were aware of his absence when they went to dine out at a restaurant on Sathorn Road on June 3.

Carradine did not show up at the dinner and the team could not reach him. They assumed that he took a rest because of his age.

It was a hotel’s maid who opened his suite on Thursday at 10 am only to find Carradine in a closet. He was described as being half naked.

Police investigation showed that he hung himself with a rope, the kind that is used with curtains.

Police said he was dead for not less than 12 hours and found no sign of fighting and assault.

Kung Fu Man

Aside from Quentin Tarantino’s two part “Kill Bill” in 2003/04, Carradine was perhaps best known for his role as the fugitive half Chinese Shaolin monk Kwai Chang Caine in the 1970s eastern/western TV drama “Kung Fu”. He also starred in Martin Scorsese’s “Boxcar Bertha” in 1972, portrayed folksinger Woody Guthrie in “Bound for Glory” in 1976, acted in Ingmar Bergman’s “The Serpent’s Egg” in 1977 and costarred with half brothers Keith Carradine and Robert Carradine in the 1980 western “The Long Riders”.

His father was the noted actor John Carradine.

In Thai cinemas, Carradine was recently seen as a martial arts guru in the Rob Schneider comedy “Big Stan” and as a perverted elderly Chinese mobster in “Crank: High Voltage” starring Jason Statham.

Spider-Man Actress Found Dead

tff_spidey_001523.jpg

Lucy Gordon, considered one of Britain’s most promising young film stars, was found dead in her Paris apartment after apparently killing herself, say French police.

Gordon, 28, had a dozen screen roles to her credit, including that of British reporter Jennifer Dugan in Spider-Man 3. In the upcoming biopic Serge Gainsbourg (a heroic life), about the late French singer-songwriter-actor, she plays the real-life British actress-singer Jane Birkin.

Gordon was discovered in her apartment, Paris police tell the London Times, which also quotes a news source as saying the actress’s boyfriend was asleep in the residence when she hanged herself. An autopsy has been ordered.

Gordon, who had worked as a model, made her movie debut in 2001′s Perfume. The next year, she starred in the war drama The Four Feathers, which also starred Heath Ledger.

Friday would have marked her 29th birthday.

Bea Arthur Dies at 86

bea_arthur.bmp

Bea Arthur, best known for her role as Dorothy Zbornak on the sitcom The Golden Girls, has died.

She was 86.

Dan Watt, her spokesman and former assistant, told the Associated Press the actress passed away at her home early Saturday after a battle with cancer. He declined to give further details.

“She was a brilliant and witty woman,” said Watt. “Bea will always have a special place in my heart.”

The actress — whose Golden Girls costar Estelle Getty died last year — won a Tony Award in 1966 for the musical Mame.

She also picked up Emmy Awards for Maude and The Golden Girls.

Her domineering on Maude was much like her role on The Golden Girls — but Arthur said she never worried about typecasting.

“Look – I’m 5-feet-9, I have a deep voice and I have a way with a line,” she once said. “What can I do about it? I can’t stay home waiting for something different. I think it’s a total waste of energy worrying about typecasting.”
