Rihanna Cancels Show in Sweden, Tweets Pic of Her in Hospital

Swedish fans of Rihanna were saddened when the singer had to cancel her show last night due to being hospitalized. Initially, Rihanna tweeted a photo of her arm with tubes coming out of it, but then later it was announced that she caught the flu and is unable to perform.

She said:

“I am sorry to everyone who was coming out to my show in Malmo, Sweden. I was so excited to perform for you all. It would have been a great time … so much better than being sick with the flu, ugh! I’m really disappointed I couldn’t be there.”

Feel better!

Rihanna is named “Sexiest Woman Alive” by Esquire, poses nude

Rihanna was named Esquire’s Sexiest Woman Alive today. The Barbados-born singer has dominated pop music for the past five years, making headlines yesterday by beating Madonna’s Top 10 chart record

About her sexuality on stage:

“At the end of a concert, I don’t feel like I’ve been this sexy thing. Really, I don’t even think about it. Unless it’s a song that really calls for it, like ‘Skin’ or ‘S&M,’ or when I cover Darling Nikki,’” she allows. “There’s a section that’s called ‘Sex’ in the show, which is the obvious section for sexuality.”

Rihanna loves choosing men from the audience to grind on stage:

“Like, really? Honestly, even if it comes across sexual — it has to be a part of my subconscious thought,” Rihanna says. “It’s never deliberate in the rest of the show. I don’t even really… I could see ‘What’s My Name?’ — the dancing is pretty sexy. ‘Rude Boy.’ But I don’t know. I guess people find different things sexy.”

In an interview with Glamour earlier this month; there, she at least allowed that she was being sexy, even if it was a character she was playing.

“That’s not me. That’s a part I play. You know, like it’s a piece of art, with all these toys and textures to play with,” she said. “See, people … they want me to be a role model just because of the life I lead. The things I say in my songs, they expect it of me, and [being a role model] became more of my job than I wanted it to be. But no, I just want to make music. That’s it.”

The star also speaks about the infamous Chris Brown incident, in which he, as her boyfriend in 2009, beat her bloody.

“It’s incredible to see how he pulled out of it the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he’s putting out,” she says. “I’m a fan of his stuff. I’ve always been a fan. Obviously, I had some resentment toward him for a while, for obvious reasons. But I’ve put that behind me. It was taking up too much of my time. It was too much anger. I’m really excited to see the breakthrough he’s had in his career. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have.”

Rihanna Beats Madonna’s Top 10 Chart Record!

Rihanna has just beaten Madonna’s long-standing record for a solo artist achieving 20 top 10 singles in the shortest amount of time.

Billboard reports that Rihanna is the fastest solo artist to reach 20 Hot 100 Top 10 singles thanks to her ‘Talk That Talk’ single “We Found Love”.

The Calvin Harris-produced track currently sits at #9 in its second week on the chart, after debuting at #16. The rise to the top 10 means that Rihanna has beaten the Queen of Pop herself, Madge, for the quickest rise.

She first appeared in the top 10 back in June 2005 with “Pon De Replay.” Since then, she’s had 19 other songs in the top 10 in six years and four months, beating out Madonna by five months.

But Rihanna’s achievement only applies to solo artists, as the Beatles hold the all-time record. The foursome took a very swift two years and seven months to amass 20 top 10 singles back in the 1960s.

The news comes as Rihanna continues to hype up her Navy for the release of her album later this year. She shot a video for “We Found Love” last month in Northern Ireland. During the shoot, Rihanna made headlines when her “inappropriate state of undress” angered the farmer on whose land she was shooting the video. A release date for the clip hasn’t been announced.

Rihanna
had this message for her fans about the video: “#WFLvid I really cant stop thinking about this video we just shot! EASILY the BEST video I’ve done thus far! Definitely my fav 1, very powerful.”

Congrats to Rihanna! That’s quite a feat! Here are new pictures of Ri performing in Liverpool.

Rihanna explains her slutty image is just for show.

Rihanna is on the cover of November’s British Vogue, wearing Armani (fitting, considering she’s the new face of the line). In the magazine, she opens up about how her “sexed-up” image isn’t her, it’s just the part she plays.

On her sexed-up image: That’s not me. That’s a part I play. You know, like it’s a piece of art … I just want to make music. See, people – especially white people – they want me to be a role model just because of the life I lead. The things I say in my songs, they expect it of me and being a role model became more of my job than I wanted it to be. But no, I just want to make music. That’s it. Look, God doesn’t give any more than you can handle. I had to get through a lot of ups and downs – big downs – and a lot of trial and error to get where I am now.

On Her Favorite Designers: Stella McCartney is so much fun and so inspiring, I adore her. Oh my God, when I first woke up to [Christopher Kane] with that collection he did with gorillas? I was like, who on earth is making this perfect sh-t? He is the best!

On Her Style: I don’t ever want to be a theme because then it belongs to someone, and that’s not right. I want to cultivate something that’s part of my personal swagger – whatever my mojo tells me, that’s what I’m going to do…

On Loving The “C-Word”: It’s funny. The word is so offensive to everyone in the world except for Bajans. You know African Americans use the n-word to their brothers? Well that’s the way we use the c-word. When I first came here, I was saying it like it was nothing, like, “Hey ****,” until my make-up artist finally had to tell me to stop. I just never knew.

I absolutely love the cover of the magazine, that dress is to die for. The other pictures I feel like I’ve seen a million times. There’s really nothing interesting about them.

I also found the article to be a bit annoying. If you’re going to play up the slutty thing – then stand behind it. Don’t say you’re “playing a part”. And how about we put the “c-word” to bed. You don’t have a genius to realize you’re NOT in Barbados – and it is offensive – to a lot of people.
