Redmond O’Neal’s Withdrawal in Jail

Redmond O’Neal, who is currently being held without bail after being arrested for gun and heroin possession, is reportedly going through painful withdrawals in jail. The 26-year-old convicted felon is on felony probation from a prior heroin conviction in 2009.

A source claims:

Redmond “spent most of the day Wednesday and Thursday over the toilet. He has been throwing up constantly since Wednesday. Redmond is having extreme withdrawals from his heroin use. Redmond is being monitored by staff at the jail. They see this all the time. Redmond is sicker than a dog. While being in jail is no picnic, he is at least, unable to get drugs, for now,” a source close to the situation tells us.

Tatum is extremely concerned about her brother. Tatum wanted to be there. This is the first time the family has ever to come to court, and Tatum rallied the family to go to court. Tatum is working very, very hard in her recovery from her drug addiction. Tatum doesn’t want to lose her brother to this horrible disease that has ravaged her family,” the insider says.

Redmond should “start to feel better in the next 72 hours. The first two days are always the worst. Redmond has done this before,” the source says.

Redmond will be held without bail until his next court appearance on August 24th. Tatum plans on being at the next hearing our sources tell us.

Redmond O’Neal: Gun & Drug Possession Charges

The case against the troubled son of Ryan O’Neal and Farrah Fawcett keeps getting worse, as it’s now being reported that he has been officially charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office of two felonies: possession of a gun and possession of a controlled substance (heroin).

The criminal complaint against O’Neal states: “A Felony, was committed by REDMOND JAMES ONEAL, who did unlawfully own, possess, purchase, receive, and have custody and control of a firearm, to wit, handgun, the said defendant having theretofore been duly and legally convicted of a felony or felonies.”

Redmond will be arraigned this afternoon, and as a convicted felon, he isn’t allowed to own a gun. Both Ryan and Tatum were at the courthouse supporting Redmond. He is being held without bail.

Redmond O’Neal’s Arrest Not A Surprise Claims Sources Close to Him

Earlier today, Redmond O’Neal was arrested in Santa Monica, Calif., after police allegedly found heroin in his vehicle. Now, multiple sources close to the troubled son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal are speaking out, saying that they aren’t surprised at the news of Redmond’s most recent run-in with the law.

“Redmond stopped going to [AA] meetings late last year. Redmond stopped all communication with his sponsor, and began hanging around with a very bad crowd lately.”

“Redmond’s girlfriend isn’t a good influence on him either, and she was with him when he was arrested in Santa Monica today.”

The same sources also claim that Redmond’s relationship with his father has become more strained lately:

“Ryan and Redmond fight constantly. The two are at each other’s throats all the time. Ryan wanted Redmond to participate in the reality show that he and Tatum did for Oprah Winfrey’s network, but he refused,” the insider reveals. “Redmond hates the spotlight and is a very private person — with a lot of demons.”

“It’s very likely the DA will file charges against Redmond and that case will be heard at the LAX Airport Courthouse. However, the bigger problem for Redmond is the fact that he is on felony probation for a heroin possession case in Santa Clarita. The DA’s office will likely file a probation violation against Redmond, and that will be heard in Santa Clarita. He will most likely have a probation violation hearing because of his new arrest.”

Redmond’s attorney, Richard Pintal, plans on meeting with his client later on today to sort out the details:

“Redmond is lucky to have such a great lawyer, he is going to need him now more than ever. This is very, very serious. Redmond sadly is a drug addict – he desperately needs help and treatment, not prison.”

Redmond O’Neal Arrested After Being Found With…

The celebrity arrest reports just keep coming in, as RadarOnline is now stating that Redmond O’Neal, son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal,  was arrested this morning after police allegedly saw him run a red light. Officers pulled him over and after searching his vehicle, he was found to have heroin in his possession. He is currently being held without bail.

“At approximately 8.45am a motor officer observed an argument at a store on Lincoln corner of Michigan. O’Neal was one of those involved in the argument.”

“The officer then watched as he got into his vehicle. He proceeded to go north bound on Lincoln before turning west bound on Olympic, it was at this time the officer observed him going through the red turn arrow.

“The officer stopped him for the traffic violation.

“A search of his vehicle was done and narcotics were recovered.”

The 26-year-old, who is currently on probation stemming from an incident in 2009 in which he brought narcotics onto the grounds of a jail facility, said that he was clean and sober when he was brought to his dying mother’s bedside in shackles.

Redmond O’Neal Arrested for Drugs While on Leave From Rehab

redmond_oneal_rehab

The year is already shaping up to be a bad one for Redmond O’Neal, who was taken into custody on drug charges while on a 24-hour leave from rehab.

Police arrested O’Neal — son of actor Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett — on Dec. 29 and he faces up to 6-years in prison for violating the terms of his probation, RadarOnline.com reports.

The staff of Impact, the treatment facility the 24-year-old was at, noticed O’Neal’s condition when he returned from his leave.

The 24-year-old had been sent to rehab because of his previous drug arrests.

Redmond O’Neal sentenced to residential rehab

Redmond O'Neal

Five months after his arrest for bringing heroin into a jail facility, Redmond O’Neal pleaded no contest Friday in a Santa Clarita, Calif., courtroom and was sentenced to a minimum of one year in a residential drug treatment program.

O’Neal, 24, son of Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett, is expected to be moved from the Pitchess Detention Center – where he was already serving time for violating his probation on drug charges – to the Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena, Calif.

The plea was an expected component of his participation in Los Angeles County’s drug court. But the sentence carries stiff penalties for O’Neal if he slips up again. Superior Court Judge Graciela Freixes ordered three years of formal probation and a six-year suspended state prison sentence, meaning if O’Neal violates his probation in any way, he could go to prison for up to six years.

On April 5, O’Neal and a friend were visiting the Pitchess facility when sheriff’s deputies searched his car and found heroin. O’Neal admitted at the time that the drugs were his, and on Friday he pleaded no contest to possession of an illegal substance in a jail facility and admitted the allegation that he committed the offense while he was out on bail.

Redmond O’Neal gets his own reality show!

redmond-oneal.jpg

Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal’s troubled son, Redmond, will turn his struggles with addiction into a new reality show, In Touch has learned exclusively.

“Redmond has signed the deal that was brokered for him by his dad,” says a friend. “Ryan will be on the show, too.”

Filming will start in four months, when Redmond, 24, is set to be released from a California detention center, where he is undergoing intense treatment to kick his drug habit.

“Redmond wants to do this to honor his mother. He really wants to get better to honor her memory,” says the pal, adding that Redmond will only receive his inheritance if he is sober.

On the show, which has yet to be sold to a network, “Redmond will be followed by a trainer and a bodyguard who will try to help him get a job and have a real life,” the pal says.
