How many of you watched ‘Project Runway: Allstars’ the other night? Were you as shocked as I was to see NO Heidi Klum – and NO Tim Gunn!? I’ll be honest, I was so upset about it – I actually stopped watching it – and haven’t been back to see the full episode yet. I don’t know if I have it in me to watch the show without my favorite hosts! In all fairness, I wasn’t a fan of ‘Top Chef Masters’ when it first premiered for the very same reason, but I’ve grown to love it. So I know I WILL give Allstars a fair shot, it might just come after I’ve watched everything else in my DVR first.
So why didn’t Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn sign on for Allstars? According to Tim, it was because they’re currently filming season 9 of Project Runway – and they couldn’t be in two places at once!
There was no making it work when it came to Tim Gunn participating in “Project Runway All-Stars.”
The high priest of style was at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour in Pasadena Monday, promoting his new ABC daytime talk show, “Revolution,” with Ty Pennington and a cast of make-yourself-better experts. (“Revolution” replaces long-running soap “One Life to Live” at 1 p.m. PT and 2 p.m. ET Jan. 16.)
He told a small group of reporters gathered after the panel that he simply could not mentor the “All Stars” because it overlapped with the taping of “Project Runway” season nine.
“Someone thought that ‘All Stars’ and season nine could be taped together and we all could run back and forth,” Gunn said. “To me the workroom and the designers is like a fashion emergency room. (Trying to do both) was just loony cajuney.”
Gunn said he gives “150 percent” on the show, and felt both shows would suffer if he attempted to spread himself between them. His first allegiance, of course, is to the mother ship.
“I’m a lucky guy and I readily recognize how much I have on my plate. I won’t trivialize (what it takes) to do this show,” Gunn said. “I can’t multitask. I don’t even have an iPhone or Blackberry on the set. I have to focus.” Continue Reading
I’ll forgive him… I guess. Now – about Heidi’s pants. Yikes!
Host Heidi Klum and judge Kim Kardashian looking gorgeous on the set of ‘Project Runway’ in New York City earlier today.
The Lifetime series held an outdoor fashion show in Battery Park earlier today, and welcomed celebrity guest judge, Kim Kardashian. The show’s regular judges, Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia were looking fabulous as they filmed scenes for the ninth season of the design show.
It was announced earlier this month that Kardashian would take a break from her busy wedding planning and reality star schedule to make an appearance on the show. Earlier today she tweeted, “Fashion fun today on Project runway with @HeidiKlum @MichaelKors @NinaGarcia!”
It’s no secret that ‘Project Runway’ star Tim Gunn doesn’t have much love for Kim or her sisters. During New York Fashion Week 2010 he commented, “I just think the Kardashians have an absence of taste and I don’t think that that should be perpetuated. I’m sorry I’m sounding like an old farty snob, but it bothers me.”
I cannot wait! It’s been so long since PR has been on! I’ve missed it!
Jessica Simpson will appear on the season finale of Project Runway as the guest judge! Here she is leaving the Project Runway show this afternoon in NYC!
In a shimmering gray mini-dress, Simpson joined judges Michael Kors, Nina Garcia and Heidi Klum on the catwalk, then got down to business, evaluating the looks of the show’s finalists. But since only six Runway episodes have aired so far on Lifetime, all 10 of the remaining designers presented collections so that the results of the finale will not be revealed.
Mondo‘s collection was full of pink and polka dots, while Gretchen went with more muted tones.Valerie‘s playful dresses and vests were right out of a Katy Perry video, and her pal Ivy presented a beach-inspired collection. Andy, April, Casanova, Christopher, Michael C. and Michael D. shared their lines, as well.
One of this season’s “Project Runway” contestants, Emilio Sosa, designed Heidi Klum’s latest red carpet look. At the L.A. premiere of “The Back-Up Plan” last night, Heidi wore a shorter version of his dress (we know she likes showing off her legs). What great timing considering the Runway finale airs tonight.
For the “Runway” challenge, designers had to create a dress that would be worn by a celebrity at a future red carpet event. It was later revealed that Heidi was the mystery celebrity.
Two winners were actually named in the April 1 episode. Heidi decided to wear Emilio’s slinky, strapless, shimmery gold gown, while guest judge Jessica Alba picked Anthony William’s breezy, beautiful black and white gown.
