It looks like wedding plans are moving forward for Ellen DeGeneres and her fiance Portia de Rossi!
DeGeneres, who won Best Talk Show Host at the Daytime Emmys on Friday, told reporters backstage that she and Portia have indeed set a date.
“Yes, we have set a wedding date,” she confessed. “Portia has a ring. It’s a Neil Lane ring.”
Ellen, who also revealed she plans to fly Portia’s mom in from Australia for the ceremony, was eager to talk about her upcoming nuptials admitting that , “planning a wedding is stressful.”
She also joked about the size of the guest list, joking that her many Emmys “will be on top of the cake,” and that the wedding is now so big “my gardener is invited.”
“We have incredible people singing” at the wedding, Ellen said. “It’s very exciting.”

Ellen DeGeneres has hinted she will wed longtime love Portia De Rossi after California’s gay marriage laws were relaxed on Thursday.
The state lifted a ban on gay marriage at California Supreme Court - and DeGeneres hinted she could be one of the first up the aisle.
She says, “I’m thrilled that the California supreme court overturned the ban on gay marriage. I can’t wait to get married. We all deserve the same rights, and I believe that someday we’ll look back on this and not allowing gays to marry will seem as absurd as not allowing women to vote.”
Meanwhile, sources on the set of the Ellen DeGeneres Show claim the star announced her plans to marry during filming. According to TMZ.com, Madonna recorded a message for the couple.

The steamy embrace between actresses Portia de Rossi and Joely Richardson in the forthcoming series of Nip/Tuck is bound to set pulses racing.
Yet playing a lesbian is a first for Portia. “I am a lesbian playing a lesbian” says the blonde actress, “But she’s a different woman than I am, so the most surprising thing is how emotional it’s been for me.”
It’s been three years since the leggy blonde went public about her relationship with Ellen de Generes and at first she worried she’d be typecast as a lesbian if she took the Nip/Tuck role.
Yet her girlfriend Ellen urged her to do it.
“My relationship with Ellen is so public, and I thought, ‘Am I going to play a romantic lead again?’ I had that one moment of, ‘Does this mean I’ll be typecast as a lesbian?’” Portia said.
“And Ellen turned to me and said, ‘So what?’ And I thought, ‘Oh, yeah, right, so what?’”
Yet there were no such reservations for co-star Joely.
Joely, 42, said: “I have no problems kissing women. It’s not the first time I have done lesbian scenes.
“I have heard Ellen was jealous. She has been on set. She is great and Portia is lovely.”
The actress added, “I think playing a lesbian turns men on. When my character Julia was the boring, married housewife, always chopping vegetables, people were sweet and lovely.
“But now I’m playing her as a sexy ***** with a big padded bra and a short skirt, I get a very different reaction.
“I think men respond to the sexiness of two women being together.”

Ellen Degeneres couldn’t sell her Montecito home, so in the beginning of October she famously went on her talk show and website to hawk the place.
In mid-November, one of her viewers up in San Francisco saw the show and ended up buying the place for $20 million! Not bad, considering Ellen bought it the year before for only $16 million…

Ellen Degeneres gave a pet dog away to a member of her staff two years before her recent pooch scandal, according to reports.
The talk show host and her partner Portia de Rossi came under fire by the Mutts And Moms agency after handing over custody of the Brussels Griffon mix to DeGeneres’ hairdresser after it fought with her cats.
Now dog owner Kerri Randles claims she gave DeGeneres a pooch named Stormy two years ago (05), only to find out she had given it away two months later.
She tells New York gossip column PageSix, “She may have had it for much less time than that. I only say two months because that’s when I called to check on the dog and found out she no longer had it. ”
She acted like she was keeping it for life. I was totally shocked. I thought she was out of her mind.”
