Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi may be in love, but they aren’t joining the rakings of the Hollywood gay couples that are adopting children to expand their families. In her third book, Seriously…I’m Kidding, Ellen discusses why she and Portia have decided against having kids.
“People are constantly asking Portia and me if we are going to have children. We thought about it. We love to be around children after they’ve been fed and bathed. But we ultimately decided that we don’t want children of our own. There is far too much glass in our house.”
“We have two dogs, Mabel and Wolf, and three cats at home, Charlie, George and Chairman. We have two cats on our farm, Tom and Little Sister, two horses, and two mini horses, Hannah and Tricky. We also have two cows, Holy and Madonna,” DeGeneres writes. “And those are only the animals we let sleep in our bed.”
The couple married back in 2008 during that brief time when same-sex marriage was legal in California.
Ellen DeGeneres turns 53 today, and in honor of her birthday, producers set up a secret birthday party in her honor. They organized a birthday bash attended by Pink, Julia Roberts, Colin Farrell and more. The highlight of the party, of course, was Ellen’s wife, Portia de Rossi impersonating Marilyn Monroe’s infamous “Happy Birthday” song. She’s completely off tune, and is rather embarrassing, but I supposed that goes to show how much she loves Ellen!

When I first watched this video I thought a) I love Ellen Degeneres, and b) she must be drinking.
But look at her surroundings! I would be acting a fool if I were there also! Video was taken just recently while she was vacationing in St. Barts with her wife, Portia de Rossi.
Ellen tweeted the video, saying “My brother was taking a beautiful video of one of the islands. I decided it needed a musical score.”

She’s one-half of the most famous openly gay celebrity couple. But could Portia DeGeneres soon become one-half of a same-sex dancing duo on the next season of Dancing With the Stars.
She talked about the possibility of hoofing up while phoning in this morning to Ryan Seacrest’s radio show.
“They’re planning to feature a same-sex couple. You’re at the top of the list,” Ryan told her.
“Goodness, you really do break news,” Porita replied startled.
But she didn’t pass.
“I’m not gonna pass, let me think about it,” she told him. “I used to be a ballet dancer, it’s not completely a pass. You never know.”
