Pete Wentz: I made out with guys

Pete Wentz

Dad-to-be Pete Wentz has a confession: He’s made out with dudes.

He tells Out magazine he first smooched a guy when he was 16 or 17, probably on a dare.

He experimented again around 18 and 19, he says.

His last same-sex make out?

“A long time ago,” Wentz, 29, says. “Probably when I was 22?”

The Fall Out Boy bassist — who wed Ashlee Simpson in May — puts all his experimenting in perspective.

“When I said that I make out with dudes, there was a slight sense of sexual rebellion in that,” he tells Out. “And I probably even made it a bigger deal than it was.”

(Asked to describe his sexuality, Wentz — who admits to having a crush on
John Mayer — says: “I’ve always felt this relentless heterosexual drive.”)

“Our culture bombards us with this idea that you’re not that, and if you are that, there’s something wrong with you, and then we’re going to call you that, and then it’s an insult,” Wentz says.

After Wentz once discussed his “possible bisexuality” with Blender, rumors floated that Joe Simpson, an ordained Baptist minister, had told Ashlee not to bring him home for the holidays.

He says that report was “such bull–t” and that Joe even joked about it.

“He was like, ‘We should take a picture in front of the Christmas tree holding hands,’” Wentz says. Still, he admits, “There are definitely ramifications for what you say.”

In general, Wentz says people are becoming open to alternative lifestyles.

“The actual acceptance of gay marriage is inevitable,” Wentz declares. “It’s just like how the next generation of kids are going to all have tattoos.”

Pete Wentz hits the right note with “Ballgame”

Pete Wentz

Papa Joe Simpson can be proud. His son-in-law, Pete Wentz, “nailed” a recent performance of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” – a song once mangled by his other daughter’s beau.

Ashlee Simpson’s new hubby performed a stunning rendition of the baseball tune at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on Sunday. Last month, Jessica Simpson’s boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, made headlines when he sang an off-key version of the same song also at Wrigley Field.

“We’ve had both [Simpson] significant others,” says Chicago Cubs manager of entertainment and player relations, Joe Rios. “It’s like comparing apples to oranges. But they were both great in their own ways.”

In terms of Wentz’s performance of the iconic song, which is traditionally performed by various celebs during the seventh-inning stretch, “He nailed it,” says Rios. “I would put him up there on the upper echelon. Definitely top one to two percent.”

Adds Rios, “Every now and then you get these awesome singers to do it. We’ve [also] had some non-polished professionals go out there and have fun.”

Romo’s off-key version of the song would certainly fall into the non-polished category – but that’s half the fun of it, according to Rios.

“Tony gave us a lot of fun with the pickup in the news about how awful he did,” laughs Rios. “It’s almost no fun when you nail it. There’s more to talk about when you screw up. If you do bad, it’s actually good.”

The important thing was that Romo and Wentz – who are both Cubs fans – had a “great time and had fun with it” says Rios. “Now we just need to get the sisters out next.”

Pete Wentz: Fall Out Boy is like the Wizard of Oz

Pete Wentz

Pete Wentz has compared his bandmates to the cast of classic film The Wizard of Oz.

The bassist insists that every member of the group has a very different role to play and they are all comparable to characters from the 1939 movie starring Judy Garland.

He tells MTV.com, “The way it works is, Patrick (Stump, singer) is kind of like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, and we’re all the supporting characters. I’m like the Tin Man, (drummer, Andy) Hurley is Toto, and (guitarist, Joe) Trohman is definitely the Lion, because he’s got big hair and he’s very boisterous.”

Pete Wentz wants to raise their baby in Chicago

Pete Wentz

Pete Wentz wants to raise his unborn child in his native Chicago, Illinois – because he believes it is a better place to grow up in than California.

The Fall Out Boy star and his new wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz are expecting their first child together later this year.

And Wentz has been preparing for parenthood by taking tips from his own father.

He tells People.com, “I’ve been reading books and watching my dad.”
But he admits he would prefer to move from their current base in Los Angeles to Chicago in time for the baby’s birth.”

He adds, “I think I would rather raise a family here than L.A.; you go to your own coffee shop, you go to the dog park, its smaller and I appreciate it.”

Snoop Dogg offers Pete Wentz & Ashlee Simpson baby tips

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg has passed on parenting tips to newlyweds Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz during a skit for the Fall Out Boy star’s TV show FNMTV.

The rapper, who appeared on the debut of Wentz’s new weekly show on Friday night, agreed to film a comedy segment at the rocker’s home.

Snoop, a father of three, advised a puzzled Wentz to put his new baby’s crib in the garage because, “You don’t want the baby next to you (in the bedroom) crying because you’re gonna want to knock the boots with Ashlee once she’s had the baby.”
And he urged Wentz to ignore early-learning videos for his child, and stick to rap and hip-hop promos instead.

Then, upon finding an opened bottle of alcohol in the couple’s refrigerator, the rapper suggested the parents-to-be put a “nip nip” (nipple) on top of the booze and let their baby drink from the bottle.

He then got personal by asking, “Ashlee, are you planning on breastfeeding?” to which the pregnant pop star replied, “Oh yeah, it’s so much healthier for the baby.”

But he went too far when he asked, “Do you need some tips?” while sucking on a bottle nipple.

The skit ended with Snoop offering the newlyweds his congratulations and wishing them luck in having “a healthy beautiful little boy,” before begging them not to let the child rap because: “You two are the whitest couple on earth.”
