Pete Wentz has an annoying habit – he is a self-confessed moaner.

The Fall Out Boy bassist complains so frequently, he has promised himself a four-week break from his whining ways – but finds the habit a hard one to break.

And the star admits he is often made to feel guilty by his constant moaning, because he leads such a privileged life.

He says, “I’ve been trying to take a month-long break from complaining, the problem is that all these things I need to complain about keep happening! When I watch someone else in a similar position, I think, ‘Wow. Do I sound like that?’ Then I’ll think about someone with real problems and, it’s not so much guilt, but disgust with myself. Someone else might have to worry where their food is coming from tomorrow and I’ll be complaining about nothing. It’s very boring.”

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were the victims of monkey thieves who stole all their designer gear during a recent Costa Rican retreat.

The pair was staying at a hotel in the Latin American paradise when things started to go missing from their room.

Simpson explains, “We’d go to sleep and we’d wake up, and the maid wasn’t even here, but sunglasses, my Sony, my favorite Wireseal hat, all this stuff, my favourite make-up bag (was gone). We were like, ‘Where is everything?’ We asked the hotel and they said that the monkeys like shiny things. That monkey has some serious designer clothes.”

Pete Wentz has credited his fiancee Ashlee Simpson and his regular therapy sessions with helping him overcome depression.

The bassist recently admitted that he was once so depressed he tried to kill himself.

But Wentz is convinced that although he still battles with mental health issues, his relationship with Simpson has made him more emotionally balanced.
He says, “The hardest thing about depression is that it is addictive. It begins to feel uncomfortable not to be depressed. You feel guilty for feeling happy.
“I think I’ve come to terms with that over the last six months. I’m in a happier place… Things are so good with Ashlee. To be in a position where you’re with your best friend and you can hang out with them all the time is great. I never have moments of doubt with her.”

The couple announced their engagement earlier this month after dating for two years.

Ashlee Simpson is one ecstatic wife-to-be, and her diamond sparkler had her gushing to Ryan Seacrest on Thursday morning.

Calling into to his KIIS-FM radio show Thursday morning, the 23-year old singer giggled when Seacrest brought up her impressive ring from fiancé Pete Wentz, 28. “It is [huge]!” Simpson said from her mother’s New York City hotel room, “I stare at it. I’m like, ‘Oh, my god, I can’t believe this is on [my] hand!’”

Simpson was more coy about other details of their recent engagement to the Fall Out Boy bassist. “I’m keeping that part sacred,” she said of Wentz’s actual proposal. “But I will tell you it was very thoughtful and he did a great job.”

Pushed on whether she was planning on drinking alcohol Thursday night, Simpson stayed mum on her pregnancy, playfully answering, “Who knows. Maybe.”

Still, Simpson couldn’t contain her happiness. Despite the name of her upcoming album – Bittersweet World, out April 22 – she said she was “extremely in love making the record.”

Rapper Nas called the newly engaged couple “super people” and shared his recipe for rock star marital bliss with People at a Belvedere vodka event. “Respect each person’s individuality,” said Nas, who has his own high-profile musical marriage with R&B singer Kelis. “Don’t try to hog somebody or handcuff ‘em. Help them grow and blossom.”

Ashlee Simpson is pregnant and plans to get married next month at a private residence in Southern California, a source close to her family tells People.

Simpson, 23, is engaged to Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, 28, who initially blasted pregnancy rumors as a “witch hunt.”

But on Tuesday, Simpson, sidestepped the rumors during an interview with MTV after taping TRL in New York, saying simply, “Some things you want to keep personal.”

And now the source tells People that not only is Simpson pregnant, but that she’s planning to have her wedding in May at a friend’s house in La Jolla, Calif., north of San Diego.

UPDATE: Pete Wentz denies that Ashlee is pregnant.

In an e-mail to MTV News, Wentz denied reports that surfaced Monday (April 14) on the Web sites of OK! magazine and Us Weekly that he and Simpson, 23, are expecting their first child.

“There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood,” he wrote. “This is all news to me. I can’t wait for the story about how I’m really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover. … I mean really, this is crazy. … I mean we’re engaged, that’s true, and happy about it.”

Asked again if he was denying reports that Simpson is pregnant, Wentz, 28, replied, “Yeah.”

Pete Wentz traditionally asked Ashlee Simpson’s father Joe for her hand in marriage.

The couple was on a trip to Colorado when the Fall Out Boy bassist, 28, asked Simpson – his girlfriend of almost two years – to marry him. But Simpson’s father Joe already knew about his plans to propose.

He tells People.com, “(Pete) did ask me. I told him that I would be honoured to have him as part of my family.”

Meanwhile, Simpson’s older sister Jessica has spoke about her happiness for the couple.

She says, “My sister is overflowing with joy. Pete is an incredible soul. They naturally bring out the best in each other. I couldn’t be happier.”
