Pete Doherty has scrapped plans to work with pal Amy Winehouse after she ridiculed his “best” guitar riff.

The Babyshambles frontman enjoyed an impromptu jam session with Winehouse earlier this summer, but the experience left Doherty feeling downtrodden.

He says, “I’d like to collaborate with her. But last time I was round there and we were jamming she said, ‘Come on then, play me some of your new ideas.’ So I played her my best new riff and she said, ‘Well, you’re not inspired, are you?’ So she p**sed on my bonfire a bit.”

Pete Doherty is adamant reports he recently suffered an overdose in Austria are untrue – because he struggled to find any drugs while in the country.

The troubled Babyshambles frontman was said to have been revived by medics after collapsing from a drug overdose shortly before a gig in Graz, Austria last week.

But the rocker insists the media stories are completely fabricated – because he couldn’t locate any illegal substances.

He tells MTV News, “I know that was absolute rubbish. I was in Austria (but), I mean, between me and you… it would’ve been lovely to have enough stuff but there was nothing about. To be honest it was a really clean week – and it was complete rubbish.”

Pete Doherty’s plans to stage a Babyshambles gig at his home have angered his landlord – who is determined to stop the concert going ahead.

Doherty’s notorious band was booked to play at Moonfest in Wiltshire, England later this month – but local police stepped in and put a stop to the planned appearance, amid fears thousands of youngsters will turn up and cause mayhem.

And the rocker vowed that the show would go on, offering to stage it at his home in nearby Marlborough instead.

But now the Earl of Cardigan – who owns Doherty’s country mansion – has stepped into the row, insisting he will not allow the band to play on his property.

In an email to local police, Lord Cardigan says, “Please advise your colleagues that ‘Pete’s house’ is actually Sturmy House. That house is the property of the trustees of Savernake Estate and any such thing would certainly constitute a breach of his lease of our property. So, should Doherty’s manager ever plan to carry out his threat, please be advised in advance that there are absolutely no circumstances in which the owners of that house where Doherty lives would ever sanction such a thing.”

Pete Doherty has been hailed a hero after he prevented a massive fire by alerting authorities to smoke at a recent concert.

The singer had arrived at England’s Reading festival on Saturday, where he was due to play a gig with his band Babyshambles, when he spotted smoke billowing from a parking lot.

He proceeded to phone the fire department to report the blaze – to the amazement of onlookers.

One witness tells British newspaper The Daily Star, “It was thanks to him that the fire did not spread any further. I was amazed – I’ve never seen him move so fast. He’s the last person you’d expect to have such a lightning reaction to anything, unless it was illegal. But he stopped the situation from getting any worse.”

Nineteen cars were damaged in the blaze but no one was hurt.

Pete Doherty is planning to stage a gig in his barn – after officials banned a music festival the controversial rocker’s band was due to play.

Doherty’s notorious group Babyshambles were booked to play at Moonfest in Wiltshire, England later this month. But local police have stepped in and put a stop to the show – amid fears thousands of youngsters will turn up and cause mayhem.

Officers say they are “seriously concerned” about crowd safety after deciding organisers had not provided enough security workers for the event.

Superintendent Paul Williams of the Wiltshire Police says: “The issue is not the act itself, it is the profile of fans that follow the act. Wiltshire police do not have an issue with Pete Doherty or Babyshambles.”

The order was obtained under the 2003 Licensing Act after local magistrates ruled there was “a likelihood of disorder” on the night Babyshambles were booked to play.

But Doherty’s manager Andy Boyd says the ban is “outrageous” – and has promised to stage a gig at the rocker’s home in nearby Marlborough instead.

He added: “We might even do it at Pete’s house in a big barn. We’re definitely going to honour those tickets somehow, but as far as the festival goes our hands are tied. Babyshambles have played about 25 festivals this year. They’ve been playing festivals all summer, what’s the difference with this one?”

The British rocker was rowing with friends in Scotland’s Loch Lomond when the boat started filling up with water.

Guy Ritchie has admitted a character from his new film RocknRolla is based on Pete Doherty.

When a stolen painting falls into the hands of rock star Johnny Story, (Toby Kebbell), the shambolic musician – who is hiding out in a crack den, having been declared dead – finds himself caught in the middle of a battle between the Russian mob, the established London underworld and its rising tough guys.

And speaking to Empire magazine, Ritchie has revealed that former Libertine Doherty was the inspiration for Kebbell’s character.

“At the time I was writing it, Pete Doherty was everywhere,” he explained. “It’s either genius marketing or a happy – or unhappy – accident. It’s creative self-destruction in the sense that he’s doing it creatively.”

He continued: “I think what we all like is someone who fell and then stood up again. And that’s probably the story with Pete Doherty. There seems to be an implication that people want to see him jump. But at the same time there’s a desire to see the likes of him being reborn.”

RocknRolla - which Ritchie has described as looking at “old school gangsters getting pushed out by the new school” – is released on September 5th.
