Paula Abdul’s new reality series Hey Paula debuted Thursday night on Bravo, but that’s not the only thing new in her life.

Us Weekly reports in the new issue that for the past few months the American Idol judge has been dating restauranteur JT Torregiani, who threw a 45th birthday party for his lady on June 19 at Ketchup, the West Hollywood eatery he co-owns (along with actress Tara Reid).

“You could tell she was so happy to be with him,” says a witness at the bash, which included Idol alums Jordin Sparks, Blake Lewis and Chris Richardson.

“They were cuddling all night.”

The star and the Dolce Group partner, 32, met through friends, and a source says they’re getting pretty serious.

“She introduces him to everyone as her boyfriend,” the insider tells Us. “It’s really cute how she’s so smitten.”

An audio tape has surfaced featuring American Idol judge Paula Abdul having a meltdown and trashing her former rep during a conference call with a group of publicists.

In the tape obtained by the New York Post’s Page Six, Abdul, 44, reveals that she’s been battling a number of health problems, including Addison’s, an adrenal disease that also afflicted President John F. Kennedy.

“I’ve been going through tremendous amounts of a difficult time,” said Abdul.

She then goes on to slam her former rep, Howard Bragman, sobbing: “I’ve never been treated this way and I’ve never seen anybody treated this way. This is just too much to stomach.”

The former Laker Girl complains that Bragman didn’t appreciate her as a client. “All I’ve ever wanted in my life is to be treated fairly and be treated with kindness. And I’ve never in my entire career been treated this way.”

She continues: “Howard Bragman on Monday – he did some disgusting behavior. I had to go to Jimmy Kimmel [on May 15],” Abdul is heard sobbing, “with no publicist there. I go on with no publicist there and I pay this man . . .I don’t understand how this man can call me a whining b-tch. I’ve never in my life been called a whining b-tch and a loser.”

A source close to the rift tells Usmagazine.com that Bragman was fed up with Abdul’s emotional instability.

“He got tired of her crying every time they had a meeting,” the insider tells Us. “She would literally break down in tears every time they’d talk. It just became too crazy of a situation for him to deal with.”

Bragman also grew frustrated when the former pop singer refused his advice. When Bragman secured her a cover of Parade magazine, she turned it down “for no good reason other than she didn’t want to do it.”

Yet, Abdul insisted on doing a cover story for 213 magazine, a little-known LA publication.

The source adds that Bragman’s pr firm, Fifteen Minutes, makes the majority of its money from corporate clients and Bragman simply didn’t need the hassle.

LOTS of “American Idol” fans were perplexed by the story about how Paula Abdul broke her nose after she tripped over her Chihuahua, Tulip. “It hurt so bad . . . I fractured my toe, as well,” Abdul told reporters. But a source tells us it’s a coverup. “Paula did not break her nose. She had pitched a fit, threw something into a mirror or glass object, and a shard of glass struck her in the face, which explains why Paula’s nose didn’t seem swollen,” said our spy. A rep for Abdul termed the account “absolutely, categorically untrue.”

The American Idol judge broke her nose over the weekend after she took a tumble to avoid trampling one of her pooches, her rep told E! News.

“She tripped to avoid stepping on Tulip, one of her Chihuahuas,” the rep said. “She is fine. This will have no effect whatsoever on her appearance on American Idol tomorrow and Wednesday for the finale.”

The rep added that Abdul was not hospitalized for her injury.

A year later, Paula Abdul comments about her bizarre behavior during pretty much the entire season (examples: one, two, three, four).

She tells Entertainment Weekly that she was not, in fact, intoxicated. Instead, it was simple misunderstanding. “Last year, when no one understood what I was saying, and even though I’ve never been drunk in my life, I’m accused of filling my Coca-Cola cup with alcohol. Yeah, that was really fun for me,” she said.

Of course, most of those accusations came live from host Ryan Seacrest. On a semi-related note, Simon Cowell says Paula is “the only one who’s emotionally involved,” and he says, “What I love about Paula is she’s a genuine fan.” Who loves to tailgate before the game.
