Heather Mills’ former publicist speaks out about McCartney video evidence

Heather Mills

Heather Mills’ former publicist has taken aim at the charity queen in a bid to recoup the $100,000 she claims the ex-Mrs. Paul McCartney owes her for her services.

Michele Elyzabeth resigned as Mills’ media representative earlier this month following a series of rows with the former model. And now she’s going public with her take on her former client, alleging the videotaped footage of an abusive McCartney she threatened to show to the court during the couple’s high-profile divorce battle never existed.

Elyzabeth dropped the bombshell during a recent taped interview with news show Access Hollywood, which aired in America on Monday.

Mills’ former rep said, “I really don’t believe she did (have the video). I was close enough and I heard a couple of conversations. Now that I know what I know, I don’t really think that Paul really went after her for anything. She had basically nothing – she had tapes of her being in the studio with him, her being on the road with him, private moments. She told me a bunch of stuff… (but) I don’t see him being a violent person.”

Paul McCartney to play in Israel?

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney is to play a historic gig in Israel 40 years after The Beatles were banned from the country, according to reports.

The Fab Four were due to play a concert in the Middle Eastern region in 1965, but they were banished after the then-government refused to grant the necessary permits over fears their music would corrupt Israeli youths.

Officials revoked the banning order earlier this year and now McCartney is reportedly set to perform in front of 250,000 fans in the capital Tel Aviv in September.

A source tells British newspaper The Sun, “Paul is desperate to put Israel on the map of places he has performed.”

The gig is said to be part of the country’s 60th anniversary celebrations to mark its founding in 1948.

Paul McCartney opens up about his final moments with George Harrison

Paul McCartney

I Want to Hold Your Hand. And they did.

So says Paul McCartney, speaking for the first time of his final moments with fellow Beatle George Harrison, who was succumbing to cancer.

“We held hands,” McCartney, 66, tells Britain’s Uncut magazine. “It’s funny, even at the height of our friendship, as guys, you’d never hold hands.”

“I sat with him for a few hours when he was in treatment about 10 days from his death,” McCartney says of Harrison, who died in 2001, at the age of 58. “We joked about things – just amusing, nutty stuff. It was good. It was like we were dreaming.”

McCartney, who first met Harrison on a bus while the two were schoolboys in Liverpool, said the guitarist was more than a friend – he was family.

“He was my little baby brother, almost, because I’d known him that long.”

Paul McCartney wants meat-free Mondays

Paul McCartney

Longtime vegetarian and animal rights campaigner Paul McCartney has urged his fellow Brits to give up eating meat for one day of the week.

The former Beatle alleges United Nations officials have declared eating less meat helps to slow climate change – and McCartney is taking advantage of the claim to promote vegetarianism and save the world.

He says, “A meat-free Monday is like going to the gym – with the advantage of protecting the planet.”

Paul McCartney denies reunion with Ringo Starr

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney has denied he will reunite with his former Beatle bandmate Ringo Starr at an upcoming homecoming gig.

The pair was rumored to be reuniting during McCartney’s performance at the Capital of Culture concert in their native Liverpool this Saturday.

But McCartney insists Starr will not be joining him onstage, saying, “That was never going to be on the cards.”

Instead, McCartney will reportedly collaborate with the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl. Other bands due to play at the event include the Kaiser Chiefs and the Zutons.

Paul McCartney awarded honorary doctorate

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney has received an honorary Doctor of Music degree from the prestigious US university Yale.

The former Beatle is an incomparable songwriter and has given a fresh sound to “rock, roll, rhythm and blues”, said the university’s president Richard Levin at Monday’s ceremony.

“Here, there and everywhere, you have pushed the boundaries of the familiar to create new classics,” he said at the Connecticut ceremony, at which British astronomer Martin Rees was among those given an honorary degree.

“From the energy of I Want to Hold Your Hand to the melancholy of Yesterday, to the spirituality of Let It Be, you have played every chord, touched every emotion,” Mr Levin added.

“We admire your musical genius and your generous support of worthy causes.”

The 65-year-old did not make a speech at the Commencement ceremony, during which 3,117 students received their degrees.

Former British prime minister Tony Blair was also in town during the ceremony, as his son Euan is currently studying international relations at the Ivy League college.

He told students at the university’s Class Day that Paul had reminded him that the first record company the Beatles had approached had “rejected them as a band no one would want to listen to”, the Yale Daily News reports.

“Be prepared to fail as well as to succeed, and realize it is failure, not success, that defines character,” he added.
