Patrick Swayze hopeful for TV series

Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze is already planning his return to work - he’s hoping his new TV series The Beast will be commissioned by a U.S. cable channel.

The actor revealed earlier this week that he is responding well to treatment for pancreatic cancer.

And now TV network A&E is so pleased with the news of the star’s wellbeing, bosses have hinted they may pick up the pilot for the series, which was filmed last year.

Network spokesperson Michael Feeney says, “We’re delighted to hear the news that he’s doing well. He completed a phenomenal pilot in December, and it remains in strong contention to become a series. It’s one of several pilots we have in development to become a series on A+E. But the network has not made a decision yet.”

Annett Wolf, Swayze’s publicist, adds, “He’s doing well. We’re waiting to hear about the pilot.”

If picked up, production on The Beast would begin in the summer or early autumn, according to the New York Daily News.

Patrick Swayze denies Point Break comeback

Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze is baffled by claims he is taking time out from cancer treatment to star in a sequel to 1991 surfing movie Point Break.

W. Peter Iliff, who wrote the screenplay for the original movie, has penned a follow-up, and insists Swayze will reprise his role as bank-robbing surfer Bodhi and co-star Keanu Reeves is onboard to play F.B.I. agent Johnny Utah.

He tells Us Weekly magazine, “We always wanted Patrick to return. He’ll definitely be surfing.”

Swayze was diagnosed with deadly pancreatic cancer last month, but Iliff adds of the actor’s health: “Things are going well, he’s fighting the good fight.”

On Wednesday Swayze issued a statement revealing he is responding well to cancer treatment - but his representative insists he will not be taking part in a Point Break sequel.

Patrick Swayze: “I’m responding well to treatment”

Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze is sharing his “great news” with People: His positive response to treatment for pancreatic cancer has allowed him to live a full and busy life.

In addition to attending a Lakers game over the weekend, the Dirty Dancing star has traveled, socialized and on Monday got in birthday shopping for wife Lisa, ordering a diamond pendant from a jeweler friend in Nevada.

In an exclusive statement to People readers, Swayze says:

“Thought I’d give you guys a little update. Lisa and I have been back and forth from New Mexico enjoying the arrival of spring and new baby calves. This past weekend, we spent a fun time with friends in Reno for Lisa’s birthday, where I took her jewelry shopping at Kenny G & Company and (we) were able to find her something really special and much deserved! In the meantime, I am continuing treatment at Stanford and the great news is I continue to respond well.”

Swayze, 55, who announced in March he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, is undergoing treatment at Stanford University Medical Center.

Patrick Swayze was in good health at the Lakers game

Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze defied reports he’s close to death by appearing happy and healthy at a Los Angeles Lakers play-off game on Friday night.

The Ghost star, who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, joined celebrity basketball fans including Jack Nicholson, Tobey Maguire, David and Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria Parker and Sylvester Stallone at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Cheering on the Lakers against the San Antonio Spurs, smiling Swayze was spotted in the crowd with his wife Lisa Niemi.

And his presence seemed to give the Lakers the life they needed - the team hammered the Spurs 101-71 to go up 2-0 in the Western Conference basketball final series.

Patrick Swayze to do Point Break sequel?

Point Break

Patrick Swayze could be set for a return to the big screen - as surfer movie Point Break is set to be revived in a sequel.

A follow-up to the 1991 film, which also starred Keanu Reeves, is reported to be in the pipeline - and Swayze could reprise his role, health permitting.

The sequel is due to be shot in Singapore and Indonesia, and is set 20 years after the disappearance of Swayze’s character Bodhi, reports British newspaper The Sun.

The cast for the movie is as yet unconfirmed.

Earlier this year, Swazye confirmed he was suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Doctors offer Patrick Swayze revolutionary cancer cures

Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze has been given a lifeline in his desperate battle with pancreatic cancer - three top doctors have offered to cure him using revolutionary new treatments.

The Ghost star revealed he was fighting the killer disease earlier this year after his secret health crisis was revealed by a U.S. tabloid.

And now three cancer experts have come forward with nearmiracle cures they’re urging the 55-year-old to try.

In a world exclusive article for America’s Globe, Dr. Howard May, Robert Krupa and Dr. Jim Howenstine insist they have the tools to help Swayze beat cancer.

Dr. May says, “I can cure Patrick Swayze.”

The National Health Director of the Phillipines Church of God insists he’s living proof that his `Zapper’ device, which boosts the body’s immune system and kills pathogens and parasites that cause cancer, really works - it cured him of colon cancer.

He explains, “I’m 86 and in better health now than I was when I was supposed to die within six months.”

Krupa also tells the publication he can cure Swayze with his invention, the Rife machine, which uses electromagnetic energy to cancel out cancer.

He states, “He’ll (Swayze) know from hour one that something good is happening to his body. He’ll suddenly be full of energy.”
And internist Dr. Howenstine insists the secret to Swayze’s cancer cure lies in a powerful antioxidant called Coenzyme Q10. ‘

Religious group offers Patrick Swayze their prayers

Patrick Swayze

A non-denominational U.S. religious group has crafted a special new prayer for cancer victim Patrick Swayze.

Just a week after it was revealed the Ghost star has put all of his real estate into a living trust - as he continues to battle pancreatic cancer - elders at the Hollywood Prayer Network have created a special prayer just for him.

The HPN’s founding director Karen Covell tells the Globe she sent Swayze a Bible last month in an effort to bring the ailing actor “comfort and strength”.

She says, “We know he is a spiritual man, and our organisation is dedicated as a ministry for the entertainment industry.”

The network’s Swayze prayer, obtained by the Globe, begins, “Dear Lord, I lift up Patrick Swayze to you right now. He is a dear man… and a brilliant talent who has blessed his audiences across the globe for decades with his many gifts.”

The prayer continues, “I ask that You now put Your Divine arms around him as he walks through this battle with pancreatic cancer. May You give him strength, peace and joy.”

The tabloid’s editors are asking faithful readers to recite the lengthy prayer in the hope of helping Swayze fight and win his dire cancer fight.
