Patrick Stewart marries his longtime girlfriend (who’s young enough to be his granddaughter)

73-year-old Sir Patrick Stewart has married his longtime girlfriend, Brooklyn singer and songwriter, Sunny Ozell, who is 35. I’d like to say I’m shocked by their age difference, but nothing in Hollywood shocks me anymore. I’m a bit gross out by their 38-year age difference. Creepy. I’m 36, and my grandpa isn’t much older than Patrick.

Anyway – back to the news. The pair tweeted the picture above, saying “Yes, married.” Patrick’s best friend and ‘X-Men’ costar Ian McKellan officiated the nuptials.

“I did my part,” McKellan, 74, posted on his Facebook page, alongside a photo showing the actor sporting his “Doctor of Divinity” license and a T-shirt reading “Minister.”

Stewart and Ozell have dated since 2009, with some hints recently that a marriage might take place.

McKellan appeared to let the cat out of the bag during a March appearance on the British talk show The Jonathan Ross Show when he said, “I’m going to marry Patrick. I’m going to officiate at his wedding.”

And on Saturday Ozell Tweeted a photo of her feet, toes painted red, immersed in crystal-clear water, lake stones at the bottom.

“Don’t tell me you’re getting cold feet!!!!” one of her followers responded.

The marriage is Stewart’s third. He was previously married to Sheila Falconer, from 1966-1990, and Wendy Neuss, from 2000-2003.

Hopefully FOURTHS time the charm for Patrick?

Parick Stewart Clarifies Pizza Comment

So Captain Jean-Luc Picard HAS journeyed into the realm of delicious Italian food, after all!

(and, duh!) Patrick Stewart got a lot of attention for his Twitter post yesterday, showing him, in his own words, enjoying his “first ever pizza slice.” In reality, he HAS had pizza, he just doesn’t eat it often (and started late!). Says Stewart via People:

“People misunderstood. There was a school of thought that I had eaten my first pizza, but of course how could that possibly be true? I would have had to have stayed locked up in a cellar,” the British-born actor and Brooklyn resident says.

“But nevertheless,” Stewart, 72, said in his own defense, “this was my first slice of pizza, which I was only eating because my fiancée and I were a little hungover yesterday morning and she said what we need is pizza and a soothing drink – and she was right. It solved the problem.”

But as for the question about his past pizza experience, Stewart said, “In fact, it was my first slice, and when it was brought over to me, my first comment was ‘There’s no knife and fork.’ “

I LOVE hearing about Stewart being hung over. And, to be honest, the star really DIDN’T start eating pizza until his 20’s, which is weird! Stewart said he was in his 20s before he had even laid eyes upon a pizza.

“I know that will sound bizarre to you,” he said, “but I grew up in a small community in northern England.”

Well, better make up for lost time, Patrick! Delicious, delicious lost time…

Patrick Stewart live-Tweeted his first-ever slice of pizza. How is this possible?

How in the world has Patrick Stewart never had a piece of pizza before? Apparently it’s true!

The ‘X-Men’ actor tweeted a photo of himself eating his very first piece of pizza. He wrote, “My first ever pizza ‘slice.’ Please note: The authentic NY fold.” Is it weird that I read that in his ‘Star Trek’ voice?
