Sources say that Paris Hilton has been banned from attending the Oscars. Reportedly, she is devastated after being told she couldn’t attend the prestigious event on Sunday night.

A source said: “She cried hot, salty tears when she was banned from the Oscars. She’s desperate to be taken seriously as an actress and hoped she would be able to network with film executives.”

She even went as far as to splash out $4 million on a designer dress for the ceremony.

I don’t know if this rumor is true or not, but why on Earth would you spend $4 million on a dress?

Paris Hilton celebrated her 27th birthday Saturday as a Pussycat Doll.

Wearing a light blue Dolce & Gabbana dress, she showed up at the Pussycat Dolls Lounge inside Las Vegas’ PURE night club at Caesars Palace at 11:30 p.m. Sister Nicky and beau David Katzenberg were also with her. (A PURE employee had to run out to get Paris red lipstick from MAC prior to the show, a source tells Usmagazine.com.)

Before her show, Hilton chatted briefly on the red carpet about performing with the ladies. “It’s all about confidence and being sexy,” Hilton told Us. “I love that the Pussycat Dolls have that girl power thing going, and they’re hot.”

At 12:32 a.m. Hilton, wearing an all-leather, S&M-style get-up, entered the Pussycat Dolls Lounge as flashbulbs went off. Sister Nicky blew her a kiss from the audience.

“Are you guys ready to get sexy tonight?” she asked the crowd.

About 15 minutes later, she reemerged onstage, wearing a white, Swarovski crystal-covered lingerie number ? and dancing in a champagne glass. After telling the crowd, “that was one of the sexiest shows ever,” she thanked them for coming and then left to go next door to PURE.

At 1:50 a.m. Hilton, dressed in the Swarovski crystal-covered lingerie get-up, hit the main stage at PURE. Grabbing the mic, she danced to a few songs, including Britney Spears’ “Gimme More.”

The Pussycat Dolls sang “Happy Birthday” to her and surprised her with an orange and chocolate striped cake with pink roses on it shortly after 2 a.m.

The Los Angeles Department of Animal Services visited Paris Hilton’s home earlier this week to investigate a complaint about her owning 17 dogs, TMZ.com reports.

By law, a non-breeder in L.A. is only allowed to own three dogs per address.

A Department of Animal Services spokesman said that Hilton – or her pets – were not home when they visited, according to TMZ.

The critically panned Hottie and the Nottie star, 27 — who has been in Las Vegas celebrating the launch of her Paris Hilton Collection — admitted she owned all the pooches on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday.

“I have 17 dogs — lots,” she said. “They all sleep in my bed – well, not all of them, but I let some of them.”

Hilton said she has so many dogs because “they keep having babies, and I feel bad about giving them away.”

When DeGeneres asked Hilton why she didn’t just get the dogs neutered, she said that they all now were “fixed,” but later added, “well, two of them weren’t.”

Law enforcement souces confirm to PageSix.com that Barron Hilton will remain in custody in the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station in Malibu, Ca. overnight.

E! Online’s Marc Malkin reported today that parents Kathy and Rick were considering withholding the 18-year-old’s $5,000 bail as an act of tough love.

“They don’t want to put up with this stuff anymore,” a source told Malkin.

Hilton was picked up by officers on the Pacific Coast Highway this morning in the celeb beach haven, where Paris and Nicky’s younger bro clocked in at almost double the legal limit in a Blood Alcohol Test.

Paris Hilton has lost her pet cat after failing to pick it up from the vet. The former heiress dropped Prada off to get neutered at the end of January and when she failed to return to get the kitty, the vet called the woman that Paris adopted the cat from last year. Now, the cat lady, Kris Kelly, insists Paris has lost the cat, because as far as she’s concerned, Paris has abandoned it.

Kelly told TMZ that she even tried to contact Paris to find out what happened, but she hadn’t returned any of her calls. Kelly says, “It’s a clear-cut case of abandonment.”

Like sister, like brother? Paris Hilton’s 20-year-old younger brother, Barron Hilton, was arrested Tuesday morning on charges of driving under the influence, TMZ.com reports.

The younger Hilton was driving a black Mercedes on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu when he was pulled over around 8:30 a.m., unnamed police sources tell TMZ. Barron is currently being booked at the Lost Hills Sheriff’s station.

Paris Hilton famously served time in jail last year for violating probation in an alcohol-related driving case. Hilton was charged with DUI in September 2006.
