County Official: Paris “Reassignment” is BS!

The decision to allow Paris Hilton to serve the remainder of her time under house arrest is already under heavy fire from L.A. County officials.

In a sharply-worded statement from L.A. County Supervisor Don Knabe, he claims that Paris’ “reassignment” is a load of crap: “This incident with Paris Hilton is just the most recent that highlights the problems our criminal justice system has with making sure sentences stick, whether it is in a County jail or under electronic monitoring.”

Is Paris Hilton is out of jail?

TMZ.com, citing unnamed sources, reports that Hilton was released early Thursday morning after serving just three days.

A news conference is due to begin shortly, the Web site reports.

Hilton, 26, began her sentence Sunday night at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, south of Los Angeles.

The heiress was sentenced to 45 days in jail for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license.

Amid speculation that she would actually serve much less time due to prison overcrowding, police said she would spend at least 23 days behind bars.

Psychiatrist Visits Paris Hilton in Jail

87791769.jpg

Paris Hilton got her second visitor in jail: her psychiatrist.

Dr. Charles Sophy, the Beverly Hills therapist who has been treating her for the past eight months, entered the jail with Hilton’s lawyer Tuesday and stayed for about two hours.

Both left without commenting.

Last month, Sophy had told a judge that Hilton was so upset by her jail sentence that she was “not capable of any meaningful participation” in a $10 million slander and libel lawsuit against her.

“She is emotionally distraught and traumatized as a consequence of the findings at the May 4 hearing, the jail sentence imposed upon her by the judge, and her fear of incarceration,” Sophy wrote in papers filed by Hilton’s lawyers.

Sophy was the second person to see Hilton, 26, since she surrendered late Sunday night to serve at least 23 days for a probation violation in an alcohol-related driving case.

On Monday, her lawyer Richard A. Hutton saw her for several hours and said she was coping as well as possible to 23 hours a day in solitary confinement.

Paris Hilton’s new wax figure!

4uvnz4k.jpg

The Paris Hilton wax figure at Madame Tussauds in New York underwent a makeover this weekend to reflect the heiress’ current situation. The only thing missing is the ball and chain!

As much as this photo made us chuckle, it’s not the 1920s anymore, Madame Tussauds! Stripes are soooo last season. Instead, Paris will be sporting a classic orange jumpsuit — much more slimming than horizontal stripes!

Paris Hilton turns herself in, starts 23 day sentence!

parisjail1.jpg

Paris Hilton reported to jail late Sunday night to serve at least 23 days for violating probation.

“I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation,” she said in a statement released by her lawyer. “During the past few weeks I have had a lot of time to think and have come to realize I made some mistakes.

“This is an important point in my life and I need to take responsibility for my actions. In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make. I want to thank my family, friends and fans for their continued support. Although I am scared, I am ready to begin my jail sentence.”

Hilton’s attorney, Richard A. Hutton, said in a press release that the 26-year-old heiress had “turned herself in” to begin serving the sentence at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, south of Los Angeles.

She was booked into the jail at 11:38 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Web site, after days of partying and just hours after attending the MTV Movie Awards.

Hilton actually surrendered at the downtown L.A. Men’s Central Jail at 11:15 p.m. and was transported to Lynwood, according to TMZ.com, which first reported her surrender.

The procedure at the Lynwood jail required her to surrender all her possessions and then be strip searched before being issued a uniform. She “was cooperative during the [booking] process, which included being fingerprinted, photographed [and] medically screened,” a Sheriff’s Department statement said.

The statement added that Hilton was issued a booking number and wristband and surrendered her personal property to custody personnel for safekeeping. She was also issued jail clothing, an orange top and pants and personal hygiene items, according to the statement. When the booking process was completed around 1 a.m., Hilton was escorted to her cell.

“Ms. Hilton will be housed in a cell by herself and will be segregated, in a special housing unit, from the general population during her stay at CRDF,” the statement said.

Hilton was sentenced to jail on May 4 for violating the terms of her probation by repeatedly driving with a suspended license. She had been placed on probation after pleading no contest to reckless driving in a drunken driving case.

The judge ordered her to serve 45 days, but with good behavior she could be out in 23 days. In the jail, Hilton will have little to no contact with the general inmate population “to ensure her safety as well as the safety of the jail staff,” Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore has said.

Hilton will spend approximately 23 hours a day in a 12-by-8-foot cell containing two bunks, a table, a sink, a toilet and a small window, with one hour for recreation. She will eat her meals in the cell. She could also leave her cell to meet with her attorney or to attend classes.
