With his commitment to children’s rights, Orlando Bloom has officially garnered the title of do-gooder, as UNICEF has named him as their goodwill ambassador. Previous famous faces to hold the job include the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Roger Moore, David Beckham and Vanessa Redgrave.

Orlando has supported UNICEF’s work since 2007 when he visited schools in impoverished districts of Nepal, the Associated Press reports.

UNICEF said today that as its ambassador, Orlando is planning to focus on raising awareness of the global organization and advocating for needy children worldwide.

Burglars apparently knew what we didn’t — Orlando Bloom had hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry in his Hollywood Hills home. Notice the past tense, because we’ve learned burglars made off with the bling last night.

Law enforcement tells us the thieves entered Bloom’s house through a window and made off with roughly $500,000 in jewelry — including two very expensive watches.

Cops fingerprinted and photographed the scene. So far no suspects.

Bloom was in NYC at the time.

UPDATE: Law enforcement sources tell us it does not look like “a typical burglary.” They will not say if it looks like an inside job.

Hot actor Orlando Bloom and Victoria’s Secret model, Miranda Kerr are said to be moving in together. The couple were reportedly looking at a $13 million mansion in Malibu over the weekend.

A source says, “The couple looked so in love and so relaxed. They seem so happy together – a perfect match. You could see Miranda getting all dreamy-eyed when they looked at this house. It was beautiful – right on the beach. I could totally see those two settling down and raising a family there.”

Miranda was spotted sporting an engagement ring, which sparked rumors that the two are engaged. Her rep said, “I am aware of the images. However, I am not in a position to comment.”

Orlando Bloom rocked out on stage filming his latest movie as he showed off his six-pack and picked a fight with a wheelchair-bound bandmate. The Brit actor looked every inch the rock star shooting the scenes for ‘Sympathy for Delicious’. He strutted around the stage shirtless in front of a screaming audience at a theatre in downtown LA. In a dramatic scene Orlando’s rock singer character has a furious bust-up on stage with paralyzed bandmate ‘Delicious’ Dean O’Dwyer (Christopher Thornton). The movie, which also stars Juliette Lewis, follows Delicious as he turns to faith-healing and mysteriously gains the power to cure the sick.
