This is a trued tragedy. A dead newborn has been discovered on the grounds of Oprah Winfrey’s South African school, The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls.
Local police Captain Shado Mashobane told News24 that a 17-year-old student at the institution on Wednesday “gave birth to the baby at the school, but we can’t confirm what happened to it.
“A case of concealment of death is being investigated,” the lawman said, adding officials hadn’t yet determined if the child was killed or died of natural causes.
The young teenager who gave birth to child has been taken to the hospital.
An area newspaper reported that the body of the baby was discovered in a bloody plastic bag. This report, however, has not been officially confirmed.
Oprah started her school in 2007 and has already had a few scandals since it’s opening. Her hope was to educate and nurture South African girls coming from poverty.

Last week Oprah Winfrey revealed that on Monday’s show (Jan. 24), she would be sharing with her audience a big family secret that she says “literally shook me to my core.” Now we know what that secret is.
According to Robert Feder’s Chicago Tribune blog, the secret is that Kitty Kelley, Oprah’s unauthorized biographer, uncovered a secret half-sister who was given up for adoption before Oprah was born.
Oprah’s mother, Venita, gave birth to a daughter, Bunny, who she “gave away shortly after she was born because she couldn’t afford to take care of her.” Bunny, who is now a grandmother, and Oprah will meet each other for the first time on Monday’s show.

Hugh Jackman tried to impress the crowd while filming Oprah Winfrey’s Australian show in Sydney today — but instead injured himself when his stunt went awry.
Zooming onto the stage on a zip-line, Hugh hit the brakes too late, crashed into a lighting rig and injured his right eye.
Oprah broke filming so paramedics could check him out — and he then continued the segment with a bandage under his eye.
That looks incredibly painful! He really hit that light hard!!
Oprah Winfrey is the most charitable celebrity – by a huge margin – giving away more than $40 million rimarily through the Oprah Winfrey Foundation for causes including education and programs for women and children, according to a national philanthropic group.
Novelist Nora Roberts came in second, donating $4.45 million to the Nora Roberts Foundation to support literacy in underserved communities, followed by actress Meryl Streep, who gave $4 million to the Silver Mountain Foundation for the Arts.
These contributions were made in 2009, the most recent year financial information was available, according to The Giving Back Fund, which compiled the celebrity list.
“There are many generous celebrities, but when you can top a list of celebrity philanthropists three out of four years, as Oprah has, that is saying something,” said Marc Pollick, president of The Giving Back Fund, which creates and professionally manages charitable foundations and other philanthropic programs for entertainers, athletes, business entrepreneurs and corporations.
For its data, The Giving Back Fund culls media reports and tax forms and speaks to publicists, agents and others close to the celebrity, but it does not count pledges or promises to donate or donations to public charities, which are not publicly disclosed.

When UsMagazine.com caught up with Gayle, 55, at the Huffington Post’s Game Changers event in NYC, Oprah Winfrey’s BFF told them that she has been asked to be a contestant on Dancing With The Stars three times. And every time she is asked, she says no way.
“I think it’s good to keep my public humiliation to a minimum,” she explained. “I would never want to embarrass my children ever…or myself! I can’t dance.”
Instead, the O Magazine editor says she’s happy to watch from the sidelines as she roots for Season 11′s remaining contestants.
“I like Jennifer Grey, but I also like that guy Kyle [Massey],” she told Us. “I didn’t know him, but he has personality and moves.”
Now what would be a really good season of DWTS is if they could get both Oprah and Gayle to compete. That I would watch for sure!

Even though Oksana was reportedly offered big money to appear on other talk shows, she granted the coveted first interview to Oprah (who doesn’t pay for interviews), but there was a hidden agenda, according to TMZ.
Oksana wants to use the daytime talk-show host as a platform to launch her singing career.
Mel Gibson’s ex agreed to a sit-down interview with Oprah in exchange for being allowed to sing on the show, Oprah caved.
Oprah’s people are trying to make the interview happen as soon as possible, but no dates have been set yet.
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling tells Oprah Winfrey that there could be possibly more Harry Potter books in the future.
“I could definitely write an eighth, ninth, tenth,” the celebrated author, 45, told Oprah Winfrey during an interview scheduled to air Friday. “I’m not going to say I won’t. I don’t think I will … I feel I am done, but you never know.”
Speaking in Edinburgh, where the interview took place, Rowling said she felt something of a loss upon finishing the saga’s last installment, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. “It was a bereavement,” she said.
Not that she’s completely put down her pen. Rowling plans to write more books, and feels there is no need to match or top her previous achievement.
“I did it. I’m really proud I did it,” she said. “But this is a new phase.”
This is good news for me. I have recently just started reading the Harry Potter books and really have been enjoying them. I never thought I would read these books or like them so much. But they are great!
