Though her wedding to Joel Madden is just one day away, Nicole Richie still hasn’t settled on the perfect gown. “She’s deciding between two dresses: Marchesa and vintage Chanel,” a Richie pal tells Us Weekly.

But before Richie exchanges vows with her beau of four years, the former reality star jetted to New York City on December 3 for her final fitting at Marchesa. “Nicole brought her stylist Simone Harouche with her,” a source tells Us. “A lot of thought went into her dress – it was a priority for her.”

Meanwhile, preparations for the winter-themed ceremony were already under way back in Beverly Hills. As tables and chairs were delivered to her dad Lionel Richie’s estate, planner Mindy Weiss began inviting the couple’s closest pals to the December 11 affair. “Mindy called all of the guests personally,” a pal tells Us. “It’s going to be a very small wedding.”

The starlet will tie the knot with her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden this Saturday at her father Lionel Richie’s Beverly Hills estate.

The bride-to-be and her close friend and personal stylist Simone Harouche went to a fitting last week with Marchesa in NYC. “It went very well,” a source tells E!.

A source familiar with the wedding prep says Richie wanted to keep the guest list limited to the closest friends and family. Part of the reason? While her dad’s mansion boasts 28 rooms, space on the grounds is actually limited.

Just this morning, rental trucks were seen arriving at the gates of Lionel’s mansion where ladders and other preparation equipment could be seen in the driveway.

Celeb guests will include Joel’s brother Benji, along with friends Samantha Ronson and Khloé Kardashian. Kim Kardashian and Richie’s former BFF Paris Hilton will apparently not be in attendance.

“Nicole is going for a vintage and romantic vibe,” a source told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

The stylish 29-year-old is going for a feel that mirrors her own personal taste. “The wedding will be true to Nicole’s style,” the source added.

Nicole and Joel aren’t planning a huge, star-studded Hollywood bash and instead have opted for a more intimate gathering.

“Nicole cut down the guest list because she didn’t want a huge wedding.”

This hasn’t gone over too well, despite it being the bride’s wishes. “She didn’t invite a bunch of her celeb friends,” the source revealed. “This has apparently upset a bunch of people.”
