Though the legendary Chateau Marmont Hotel is rarely referred to as a family-friendly place, it was the perfect setting for Hollywood stylist Andrea Lieberman’s Marie Antoinette-themed baby shower. Nicole Richie, Ellen Pompeo and Gwen Stefani were among the glam guests who gathered inside the hotel’s Bungalow 1 for afternoon tea, hosted by Margaret Maldonado and jeweler Mouawad. “Andrea is like a New York version of me, but way cooler and more talented,” said California girl Stefani (in Diane von Furstenberg). “The fact that we’re pregnant at the same time is such a gift.”

Nicole Richie is reportedly set to design her own line of maternity clothes.

‘The Simple Life’ star – who gave birth to her first child, daughter Harlow, with fiancé Joel Madden on January 11 – has been meeting with a top clothing company to discuss plans for the range.

A source close to the 26-year-old beauty said: “Nicole is determined to bring out a line of clothes, with the focus being on maternity wear. Her line is going to be clean and simple, with emphasis on clothes that flatter the figure without drawing attention to the fact the wearer is pregnant.”

Nicole recently revealed she hated her body while pregnant with Harlow, saying her full breasts made her feel “sl***y”.

She said: “I like wearing vintage hippy see-through shirts that aren’t sl***y on me because there is nothing to look at. Now I have boobs so I can’t really wear it because it sends out a different message.”

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are planning to join other celebrity parents on the East Coast.

The couple recently purchased a two-bedroom condo for $999,999 on the Bowery in New York City. Nicole, 26, decided to compromise with her East Coast-bred beau. “Joel has wanted to live in New York for a while,” an insider tells In Touch.

“Nicole has gone along with buying the place, but LA is her home.” And, even though the area is trendy, the 1,000-square-foot spot — which has been described as “very simple” and “low-key” — is tiny in comparison to the couple’s 2,274-square-foot Century City home.

Lucky 2-month-old Harlow will be a bicoastal baby! Nicole and Joel, 29, will live primarily in LA. The NYC pad “will be convenient for traveling, but this is not a permanent thing,” the pal says.

Nicole Richie loves being a mommy, her dad Lionel Richie told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show this morning.

Of Harlow , Lionel (who referred to himself as “G-Pa”) said, “That baby is the sweetest, most beautiful baby. Nicole’s kid is amazing.”

Nicole, he said, “has turned into a full-fledged mom. It’s the most frightening thing in the world because you keep thinking, ‘Are you going out?’ And [she's like], ‘No, dad, can’t go out! She has another feeding — I have to be right here!’”

Lionel said he learned of Richie’s pregnancy “15 seconds after she knew it.

“Nicole and I are very close. She presents everything to me as, ‘Oh, my God, dad, you’re not going to believe this!

“I sat down and said, ‘How bad is it?’ She said, ‘I’m pregnant!’ I said, ‘Oh, my God!’ and got tears in my eyes.”

Lionel said the “funniest picture” was Nicole after she gave birth.

“She had this look of her face,” Lionel recalled, “and I said, ‘And it doesn’t come with a manual!’”

Of Nicole’s beau, Joel Madden, Lionel said he has his “fingers crossed” they’ll get hitched. “This guy is so in tune with Nicole — I love him to death,” Lionel said.

“I couldn’t ask for a better guy!” he added. “If there is a matrimony down the line, you’ll know it first ‘cuz I’ll be telling everybody!”

Broadway bosses want Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie to star together in musical Chicago.

Richie is already being touted for a stint on the New York stage, and has reportedly been offered a role in the Bob Fosse-created show. Now producers want to add her Simple Life co-star and best pal Paris to the line-up. A source tells OK! magazine, “The producers think they will sell double the amount of tickets.”
