For months her budding baby bump was apparent only to the eagle-eyed, but now as Nicole Kidman enters her final stage of pregnancy it’s clearly on show – and she couldn’t be more thrilled.

The actress, dressed in a flowing navy dress, clasped her hands beneath her stomach to proudly accentuate her bump during an appearance the United Nations headquarters in New York yesterday.

And it’s little wonder she’s filled with pride at her burgeoning tummy – after all, she miscarried twice during her marriage to Tom Cruise and spent years yearning for a child of her own.

Nicole recently revealed she’s suffered “severe morning sickness,” but despite her queasiness, she’s “really good.”

The 40-year-old was attending a press conference to promote the “Say No To Violence Against Women” campaign as part of her role as a UN Goodwill Ambassador.

Nicole, who is said to be six months pregnant, recently bought a $7 million home in Brentwood, California, with her husband Keith Urban, just a couple of miles from where her former husband lives with their two adopted children Connor, 13 and Isabella, 15.

Meanwhile her son is preparing to make his film debut in the upcoming Will Smith drama Seven Pounds.

The teen looks set to follow in his parent’s footsteps, and has already landed a minor role as a young version of Smith.

Of course, Smith is a close friend Cruise Senior, however sources insist Connor had to audition for the part.

A source told People magazine: “Tom is so proud of Connor. He’s proud of him for really doing this on his own.”

Nicole Kidman’s father has undergone heart surgery in Australia, according to reports.

The actress’ sister Antonia revealed the news on Monday at a TV prizegiving in Sydney. Collecting the ASTRA Award for Favourite Female Personality, Antonia held back tears as she accepted the honor onstage at the Hordern Pavilion.

She said, “It is a sweet end to a sad day because my dad’s in hospital.”

She refused to reveal more, but reports suggest the Kidman patriarch, a renowned psychologist, underwent scheduled heart surgery hours before his daughter collected her TV award.

Nicole Kidman may be an Oscar winner, but she can’t escape one of the most common afflictions among pregnant women everywhere.

“I’ve had severe morning sickness,” the expectant actress, 40, told Access Hollywood on Monday – when she and husband Keith Urban hit the red carpet at the CMT Awards in Nashville.

Kidman, wearing a figure-hugging red dress that revealed a burgeoning baby bump, also admitted to wondering if the most difficult part is yet to come.

“[I'm] good actually, really good. Waiting for the third trimester,” she said. “Everyone says that is hard work.”

Where’s the baby!  She announced her pregnancy on January 8th.  She probably wouldn’t announce her pregnancy until she was 3 months along.  That puts her at about 5-6 months.  You can’t even tell she’s pregnant!

Nicole Kidman is set to return to Brentwood, California, where she once lived with former husband Tom Cruise.

The actress and her country star husband Keith Urban have bought a $7 million estate in the celebrity enclave, where they hope to welcome their first child into the world in July.

Kidman sold her last home in Brentwood in 2004 for over $10 million.

Oscar-winners Nicole Kidman and Judi Dench have reportedly signed up to star in the upcoming film Nine.

Directed by Rob Marshall, Nine is an adaptation of the Tony award-winning Broadway musical, which in turn was based upon Federico Fellini’s Eight and a Half.

A number of A list stars are already signed up to the project including Javier Bardem, who will play the central character – a film director juggling the demands of the several women in his life.

Bardem’s real life partner Penelope Cruz will also play a role in the film as will Sophia Loren and this year’s best actress Oscar winner Marion Cotillard.

It is as yet unknown what parts Nicole and Dame Judi will play.

Filming is expected to begin in September – just several months after Nicole is expected to give birth to her first child.

Javier Bardem also won an accolade at this year’s Oscars ceremony – taking home the trophy for best supporting actor for his role in No Country For Old Men.

This means that there will be four winners in the cast.

Nicole Kidman received the Academy Award for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in The Hours in 2002, while Judi Dench was awarded the best supporting actress accolade for her role as Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love.

Nicole Kidman is on the hunt for a new home — and her number one priority is to find a property near best pal Naomi Watts.

After spending time with her kids at Watts’ L.A. pad, the Hollywood star got her people to do a bit of house hunting on her behalf.

“Nicole had her people call Naomi’s next-door neighbors to ask if they would be interested in selling their house — even though it wasn’t on the market,” a source says of Kidman — who’s married to country music star Keith Urban, and often stays at Watts’ house.

Naomi’s neighbors refused the offer, but Nicole has continued in her quest to find her perfect house, and is looking at properties in the $8 million range.

“Her favorite property so far is a Nantucket-style home. Although the home is not on Naomi’s block, it is within walking distance,” the source adds to Us Weekly magazine.
