Nicolas Cage is raging about one early review for his new movie Ghost Rider after a reporter for magazine Entertainment Weekly suggested the Oscar winner had no right being in a comic book adaptation. The Moonstruck star is so angry about the personal attack, he’s urging fans to stop buying the “tabloid” and opt for an alternative - with a horoscope.
He fumes, “There was a blurb in Entertainment Weekly that said very condescendingly, ‘We get a kick out of watching Academy Award winners being in movies that they have no business being seen in.’ I thought, ‘Well, OK, that’s really shallow thinking because they can’t get outside their own box. They don’t understand the concept of what I would say is art.’
Entertainment Weekly is the kind of magazine that is very condescending and they think in a very narrow box and they always have. So that’s why I would recommend that if you want to really get your information and know what movies to go see I wouldn’t resort to that particular publication. “Entertainment Weekly is more like a tabloid. So, if you’re going to get a tabloid, get The National Enquirer because, at least, they have a horoscope. I mean, why spend the extra dollar getting Entertainment Weekly?” Cage jokes the publication takes itself far too seriously: “People like Entertainment Weekly don’t want to take the beret off of their head and stop being self-important and pretentious.”

From ET:
Sources tell ET that NICOLE KIDMAN was taken to a hospital after being involved in an accident on the set of her latest film, ‘The Invasion.’
The actress and her co-star, child actor JACKSON BOND, were shooting a chase scene when a stunt driver lost control while turning a corner on slick pavement. The street had been wet down with water before the scene. Their Jaguar crashed into a pole and hit a garbage can.
Two crew members who were strapped to the top of the Jag were also involved, but no injuries were reported.
Nicole and the other performers were taken to a local hospital to be checked for injuries.

Nicolas Cage has announced plans to curtail his future acting endeavors in order to pursue interests outside of the realm of Tinseltown. The Oscar winner made the semi-retirement announcement over the weekend at the third annual Bahamas International Film Festival. “I’m thinking about taking more time in between movies,” the 42-year-old actor told the Associated Press. “I feel I’ve made a lot of movies already and I want to start exploring other opportunities that I can apply myself to, whether it’s writing or other interests that I may develop.” While Cage may be reducing his workload, he was quick to note he’s not taking himself out of the Hollywood game completely. The World Trade Center star, who has appeared in more than 55 films over his three-decade career, currently has eight movies in the pipeline including National Treasure II next Christmas.
