It was recently rumored that Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo might be tying the knot while in Tuscany on New Year’s Eve, but don’t pop the cork for that celebratory glass of wine just yet.
She said, “He was joking, we’re not getting married in Italy. I think that’s the game of telephone, he said it sarcastically.”
Minnillo admitted she hasn’t even begun to contemplate her nuptial location.
“We’re enjoying the bliss of it,” she said. “I feel irresponsible for not having a date, but someone made a great point, when you’re dating everyone is always asking when you’re getting engaged. When you’re engaged everyone is always asking when you’re getting married. When you get married they start asking when you’re going to get pregnant. Instead of keeping up with the Jones’, we’re just enjoying it.”

This sounds like such a romantic idea! Nick Lachey and fiancee Vanessa Minnillo might just be tying the knot in Italy on New Year’s Eve!
According to reports, that might just be the plan after the happy couple spend Christmas together here in the States.
Nick went on The Rachael Ray Show and said, “We’re going to be in Tuscany for New Year’s. Who knows, we may be married in Tuscany, too!”
Of course, Lachey may not be the first to know where it’ll happen. He makes clear that Minnillo, 30, is calling the shots.
“I just basically told her, I said, ‘Tell me where to be, when to be there and what to wear, and I’ll be there,’ ” he says.
The singer also jokes that he should be off the hook for a Christmas present, given his recent very special gift. “I got her a nice ring,” he says. “Do I have to get her something else?”

If you thought that Jessica Simpson’s engagement announcement was timed strangely, then you’re not alone. It seems that she announced her news just as her ex, Nick Lachey announced his good news. Reportedly, they’re in a race to the altar!
Nick said in a recent interview, that he’s not listening to whoever poses the timing question about Jessica’s engagement news. He said, “I don’t have any thoughts on any of it. I don’t know what people are saying. I’m not the one to speculate on timing.”
When asked about how engaged life is going for him, he joked, “Well, we’re still engaged.”

Nick Lachey wishes nothing but the best for ex Jessica Simpson, who got engaged to Eric Johnson a week after Lachey, 47 37 (whoops!) popped the question to Vanessa Minnillo.
“I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best,” he told UsMagazine.com Monday.
As for his own engagement, he told Us he and Minnillo, 30, “still basking in the glow” of the news and “are enjoying that. I’m sure we’ll get on the other planning shortly. We are now just enjoying this experience.”
Asked why it took him so long to propose, he said, “All things have their appropriate time, so thank you.”
A source tells the new Us Weekly (out now) that Jessica Simpson is “flipping out” after UsMagazine.com broke the news that her ex, Nick Lachey, is engaged.
But the singer, 30, sang a different tune on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show when asked for her reaction.
“I am extremely, extremely happy for him,” she said in the interview, released Thursday morning. “I don’t know where all those rumors came from. My mom actually called me and said that everyone was saying that I was ‘saddened.’ I was just in complete shock. I couldn’t be more happy for Nick.
“Our relationship was over a really long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa [Minnillo],” she went on. “I do, and I really wish them nothing but the best”
Simpson says she’s content with her beau, former NFL star Eric Johnson.
They’ll celebrate Thanksgiving this year in NYC: She’s doing the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
“My first New York Thanksgiving!” she says.”I know his family’s going to be with us on the float at the Macy’s Day Parade, and my family will be there.”
She says she’ll likely return to her home state of Texas for Christmas.
Says the singer, “Having a boyfriend through the holidays, we’re going to see how all that splits up.”
When Nick Lachey confirmed the news that he is engaged to girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, most people sent their congratulations and best wishes….except for ex-wife, Jessica Simpson. She’s said to be deeply saddened that Nick has taken that step with his new fiancee.
A friend of Jessica’s said, “Even though Jessica wants to be happy for Nick, this is a very difficult time for her. Nick was the love of her life then, man, and he was her first, so she will always have a very special place in her heart for him. She’s deeply saddened.”
Still, Jessica has found it tough to make the call to give Nick her congrats. The source added, “If you can’t say something nice, it’s better to say nothing at all.”
