Leslie Carter was laid to rest over the weekend, in a modest funeral that was attended by an intimate group of family members. While siblings including Aaron Carter were amongst the mourners, Nick Carter, was not. How in the world could the singer miss his sisters funeral? “I wanted to be at my sister’s funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic,” Nick said in a statement to E! News.

“I love my family. I want to thank everyone for all of their compassion and support that I have received during this most difficult time.”

Apparently there are rumors swirling around that Nick was never told where/when the service would be taking place, it probably didn’t matter anyway. Nick was scheduled host Epic Saturdays at The Pool After Dark Nightclub at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City.

“There are so many emotions for me surrounding the loss of my sister,” he said. “I am trying to stay healthy, positive and focused.”

Leslie Carter, who is the sister of Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys) and singer Aaron Carter, died yesterday in New York.

“Our family is grieving right now and it’s a private matter,” a spokesperson for the family told Access Hollywood. “We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.”

Following in the footsteps of her famous siblings, Leslie was an aspiring singer and her single “Like Wow!” was even included on the soundtrack of the movie “Shrek” in 2011. Nick’s younger sister also appeared on the family’s 2006 reality show, “House of Carters.”

Leslie leaves behind her four siblings as well as a husband, Mike, and nearly one-year-old daughter, Alyssa Jane.

As far as I can tell, no one has reported the cause of death yet. When I find out – I’ll let you know!

Nick Carter has healed a long-standing rift with his mother following her arrest on Thursday.

The singer and his brother, pop star Aaron Carter, cut mum Jane – their former manager – out of their lives in 2005, claiming she was more concerned with money then being a good parent.

A warrant was issued for Jane Carter’s arrest after she missed a Florida court appointment, scheduled to settle her split from ex-husband John Holcomb.

But Nick, 28, is now ready to patch things up with his estranged mother and has even voiced his support for her.

He tells Usmagazine.com, “I love my mother and offer her my full support in these unfortunate circumstances.”

A source adds, “He’s (Nick) been mending his relationship with his mom for quite some time… he is in such a healthy, productive place in his life, looking better than ever.”

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has ruled out ever getting back together with his ex Paris Hilton – because she isn’t “intelligent” enough. But Carter, who split from the hotel heiress in July 2004 after dating for seven months, insists his experience with Hilton has not put him off dating another high-profile star.

He says, “There’s no way I’d get back with her (Hilton). I’d go out with another celebrity if she was the right girl. She’d need to be able to have an intelligent conversation, though.”

When asked if Hilton could engage in such talk, he added, “No.”
