On March 6, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon gathered an intimate group of friends and family at the rooftop Conservatory Grill at the Montage hotel to celebrate the arrival of their twin boy and girl, due in late April or early May.

“I’d never been to a baby shower,” Mariah Carey tells the new issue of Life & Style, on stands now. “This was my first one — it was so festive!”

The shower, hosted by her pr and management team and Angel Champagne’s Stefano Zagni, was decorated in pink and blue hues — from the balloons and flowers to the servers’ aprons and the napkins. Guests—including celeb pals American Idol judge Randy Jackson, host Piers Morgan, actress turned director Penny Marshall, Sopranos alum Lorraine Bracco, and director Brett Ratner—noshed on a selection of gourmet pizzas and appetizers and enjoyed Mariah’s very own champagne, Angel.

“Nick and I were so grateful to everyone who came to celebrate with us,” Mariah tells Life & Style.

A 6-foot-long gift table was filled with tiny outfits, books and stuffed animals but possibly the best gift came from her fans.

“There was a lot of love in the room, and to top it off, fans from more than 50 countries sent well-wishes and stories in a book they made for our twins titled Always Be My Babies, which was the sweetest gesture in the world,” Mariah tells Life & Style. “It was a night I will never forget.”

Life & Style can exclusively confirm that Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon are expecting a boy—and a girl!  “It’s all about pink and blue these days,” a friend of the couple tells Life & Style. “It’s truly going to be a dream come true for them. They get a son and daughter.”

And Mariah couldn’t be happier. “Even before we announced it was twins, I was trying to keep everything genderneutral because I didn’t want to impose an identity on them too soon,” Mariah tells Life & Style with a laugh. “There were fan contests on Twitter about what gender they are and rumors about them being two boys or two girls — but nobody guessed this!”

Nick first revealed in December that the couple were having twins. “In order for my wife and I to have our life, we need to be up front and I need to be able to share things with you and be real,” he said on his radio show. “I didn’t even tell my wife I was gonna do this. I’m probably gonna get yelled at for not getting permission. We’re having twins!” They’re set to welcome their bundles of joy in April. “It’s been a long journey—but a happy one,” says mom-to-be Mariah.

Nick Cannon has all but confirmed the reports that his wife Mariah Carey is caring twins!

E News reports:

When asked by E! News to clear up the twin rumors, Cannon cryptically referred back to plural pronoun heard round the world.

“It’s a touchy issue, because you never want to speak on too much stuff too early, but my wife, at one time, she referred to her stomach as ‘they’ and that probably wasn’t the wrong thing for her to do,” he said. “That’s all I’m gonna say.”

That’s probably all he has to.

Just as long as they don’t name either of them Cleophis, then it’s all good. Double congrats to Nick and Mariah!

Mariah Carey only recently confirmed what we all had know for months now, she is pregnant. Now she experiencing all the symptoms of a mommy-to-be.

“Right now, I feel nauseous and exhausted,” she admitted during a call-in to husband’s radio show, Rollin’ With Nick Cannon.

Indeed, Carey, 41, sounded tuckered out as she chatted with Cannon, 30.

Cannon is eager for his wife — promoting a Christmas album — to stop working. He noted that she shot two music videos on Thursday and asked when she’s going to take a break.

“I guess after New Year’s,” Carey said.

The Grammy winner took a moment to thank all her friends and fans “for the well wishes” and said “I’m still insulated,” and hadn’t yet checked her voicemails, texts and emails.

“I wasn’t in touch with anybody!” she added.

From what I have heard, Mariah will be having a baby boy! I wonder if he will turn out to be a singing sensation like his mom.

“Yes, we are pregnant. This is true,” Mariah Carey, 41, said on the Today show Thursday morning as part of a sneak peek at a three-part Access Hollywood interview. “It’s been a long journey. It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy.”

Husband Nick Cannon, 30, joined the interview to talk about the “absolutely emotional” news, adding, “The greatest gift on earth is a child.”

Mariah won’t reveal the due date, but says “it’s still early, and expecting is great.”

Although Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon are still playing coy about her growing belly, the couple are reportedly having a baby boy, HollyBaby reports.

“She’s having a boy, but the reason that Mariah didn’t want to say anything is because she is 40, and she’s superstitious,” the source said. “But she’s going to appear on ‘Oprah’ and ‘The View,’ so she’s planning on making the announcement soon.”

While the couple, who wed in 2008, has yet to confirm the news, sources close to the singer tell PopEater the 40-year-old diva is indeed pregnant.
