Instead of a traditional interview, the couple open up about why they love each other, and it’s a really cute article. I love Neil Patrick Harris. I always have. He just seems like such a great guy.  I really enjoyed this article, it’s nice to take a peek inside a couple’s relationship that you don’t normally hear about.

OUT magazine’s annual “Love Issue” provides first-person accounts of gay relationships and gay families, an underrepresented segment of the American population. With the “Love Issue,” OUT highlights 26 diverse gay relationships and families to inspire. OUT’s subjects relay their stories in their own words. This year’s “Love Issue” begins with the story of cover stars Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, who share their personal love story with OUT readers.

“There’s something kinetic about him and his being. He’s classically sexy, yet he’s very much a boy in his energy. It’s a great dynamic,” Harris writes of Burtka. “When I see people who are equally attractive, they tend to seem quiet and kind of Marlboro Man-y, and David’s the antithesis of that. He’s more like Tigger. I’m, in turn, very introspective–the thinker, rather than the doer. I tend to weigh options before making decisions, and David is the polar opposite of that. We’re hyper similar and also incredibly opposite.”

Of Harris, Burtka similarly scribes, “Without him, I can’t breathe. The biggest thing is that he makes me laugh, but he’s also smart. He can do everything. I’m not kidding; I think he’s half robot. He makes me a little more grounded, and I bring out the wild side in him. Don’t get me wrong–we fight. Our fights last five minutes, then we’re over it. And we’re both Gemini–we have a good twin and a bad twin, and the four of us get along really well.”

Burtka, who joined E! News this month as a correspondent, adds, “I don’t want people to think we’re a perfect couple. Nothing’s perfect. A relationship is work and it changes. It’s more good times than bad, but it’s not always good. We have a great recipe for a wonderful relationship, but we don’t want to be the poster boys for gay relationships. We’re not trying to pretend that we are perfect. We’re just trying–in a good, positive, loving way–to life our lives.”

Harris looks forward to the day the two become legally wed. “I’m not the biggest fan of the word ‘partner’: It either means that we run a business together or we’re cowboys,” Harris pens. “‘Boyfriend’ seems fleeting, like maybe we met two weeks ago. I’ve been saying ‘better half’ for as long as I’ve been able to. I think it’s a little self-deprecating and clearly defines that we’re in a relationship, but it would be nice to say ‘my husband.’”

Neil Patrick Harris may have come out to the world back in 2006 and now has two kids with his partner David Burka, but the actor admits that he still enjoys flirting with the ladies, saying that he still loves the attention.

“Not to get political, but I think the time, the pendulum/paradigm has shifted a little bit. I think there’s lots of girls that I talk to that know that I’m gay and still are flirty. I flirt right back.”

“I think flirting is great fun. It doesn’t mean that anything’s going to come of it but it’s fun to be told that you’re hot and that your tits look great.”

I don’t know much about Beastly, other than a preview I saw a while back. Looks interesting enough. I think it will be a hit with teen girls, that’s for sure.

Singer Katy Perry will appear on ‘How I Met Your Mother’ next month, and I’ve got a sneak peek at her debut!

Katy will be playing “Honey” when she appears on February 7th.  According to CBS, she makes Neil Patrick Harris‘ character “Barney” emotional after he opens up about his life.

Katy and Neil are starring again soon – when Katy plays “Smurfette” in an upcoming live adaption of ‘Smurfs’.

Neil tells People that they are blissfully happy since the arrival of their son and daughter.

“Everyone says that it’s such a blur after it happens,” says Harris of becoming parents to fraternal twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott, born Oct. 12 via surrogate. “I find myself constantly just trying to wrap my mind around it.”

After almost seven years together, Harris, 37, and Burtka, 35, began the surrogacy process and were “thrilled” to discover they were having fraternal twins.

“We inserted two eggs, one with my sperm, one with David’s sperm and they both took,” says Harris. Holding their children in the delivery room shortly after their birth was “just absolute joy,” says Burtka. “We had two babies that we made. With help.”

The family just moved into a “more kid-friendly” home in the Hollywood Hills and the twins have a new nursery with an old-school Disney theme park décor. “Harper has been fussy but Gideon is the easiest baby in the world,” says Burtka. “They’re just now starting to recognize us and smile.”

“I just love the way they smell. And we can use them as an excuse to get out of almost anything,” adds Harris, jokingly. “That’s cleared the calendar in a good way.”

Neil Patrick Harris feels nothing but excitement and happiness because he’s a new father!

He and his partner David Burtka welcomed their twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace via surrogate only six weeks ago. He admits that he’s still getting used to having the babies around.

Us Magazine reports:

The little boy, he said Monday on CBS’ The Talk, is “a great burper!…Babies, they can burp!” the How I Met Your Mother actor, 37, gushed. “I’ve never been happier.”

Gideon “sleeps all the time,” but little Harper is “fussier,” he said, explaining that she suffered from “some sort of lower G.I. [problem]…she’s always working through something.”

“It feels awful,” he admitted. “All you want as a parent is to make sure they’re okay and that they’re comfortable.”

He and Burtka tried a hypoallergenic formula and then finally consulted with an ostopath — which did the trick. “It was fantastic,” the star said. “[Harper] sort of snapped and was a different person. Super calm. Everything is much better.”

He and his partner have warmed up to one parenting practice: swaddling. “Swaddling, we thought, was ridiculous,” he admitted before learning to love swaddle time with his little ones.

I bet they’re awesome fathers to their new babies! I love NPH, he’s one of my favorite actors.
