From TMZ:
We now know what happened to Natasha Richardson on the ski slope when she was critically hurt yesterday, suffering a brain injury.
We’re told she was having a private lesson on a green slope (beginner) at a ski resort in Quebec, Canada. She fell — we’re not sure why. There was no blood and no sign of impact. Two ski patrollers came to her rescue. When they got there she was conscious — smiling and making jokes.
An hour later, Natasha started to complain of a headache and said she didn’t feel well. Someone from the resort called 911, and she was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Natasha was conscious when she left the resort.

Actress Natasha Richardson was hospitalized on Monday afternoon in Montréal after suffering a serious head injury, PEOPLE has confirmed.
The Tony-winning star, 45, was first brought to Centre Hospitalier Laurentien near the Mont Tremblant winter resort following a skiing accident. At 5 p.m. she was transferred to Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal.
Her husband, actor Liam Neeson, 56, left the set of a movie he was filming in Toronto and rushed to his wife’s side, reports AccessHollywoood.com.
“Liam Neeson left the Toronto set immediately to fly to Montreal upon news of his wife’s accident,” a rep for his film Chloe said in a statement to Canadian TV. “We do not have any details at this time but we hope for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with Natasha and Liam and their family.”
Richardson – daughter of famed British actress Vanessa Redgrave, 72, and producer Tony Richardson, who died in 1991 – has been married to Neeson since 1994. The couple have two sons: Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12.

Actress Natasha Richardson unveiled a foxy new look and rather more than she would have liked on the red-carpet at last night’s star-studded Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala.
In an attempt to ensure she didn’t embarrass herself by tripping up as she ascended the stairs in her high heels, Natasha came a cropper anyway.
As the actress from the highly-regarded Redgrave acting dynasty hitched up her pale pink chiffon gown, she inadvertently flashed her nude-coloured thong to the assembled audience.
