The fashions were extra funky at Monday’s Elle Style Awards in London at the Grand Connaught Rooms. Fashionistas like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Alexa Chung and “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart were there to receive awards for their unique sense of style, according Elle UK.
Stewart, who wore a geometric gray minidress to the event, was awarded Woman of the Year for her hip, rocker aesthetic. Mary-Kate Olsen, who wore Lanvin to the event, and sister Ashley, who wore Christian Lacroix, earned the magazine’s Icons of the Year prize for their personal sense of style and their fashion line, the Row.
Carey Mulligan, who won the BAFTA award for Best Leading Actress the night before, wore a blazer and skirt from the Row as she received the Style Award for Best Actress. Claire Danes, in a demure black Burberry dress, was on hand to present designer Christopher Bailey with the International Designer of the Year prize. Model and TV personality Alexa Chung looked hipster cool in her blue Chanel dress with matching Chanel bag as she took home the Editor’s Choice award.
Although they didn’t win any awards, other celebrities in attendance included pop star Leona Lewis, in a fashion staple: a little, black dress with a peep-hole neckline, puff sleeves and a lady-like hat. And 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto decided to go all punk rock with a Mohawk, white army boots and acid-wash slim-fitting jeans.

A slew of British celebs and supermodel royalty turned out for Naomi Campbell’s Fashion For Relief Haiti show on the first day of British Fashion Week. Campbell also included a tribute to late designer Alexander McQueen. The show was followed by an auction on the pieces presented, during which Kate Moss broke down in tears at the bidding for the McQueen dress she had modeled. This show came nearly a week after Campbell held an American-style version at New York Fashion Week. All proceeds will go to helping mothers and babies in Haiti.

Naomi Campbell began community service in a soup kitchen on Tuesday, arriving 10 minutes late on her first day.
The catwalk stunner, 38, was tardy as she showed up at London’s Whitechapel Mission centre in a chauffeur-driven limousine.
But she was spared from the shelter’s more difficult chores like cleaning – and was instead made to help with paperwork.
A source tells Britain’s Daily Mirror, “It’s usually pretty gruelling work but not for her. She was friendly enough and said hello but she didn’t look too chuffed (excited).”
Campbell was sentenced to 200 hours of community service after she admitted to spitting at police officers at London’s Heathrow Airport in April.

Naomi Campbell has been given the all clear to start a family after a secret surgery resolved the supermodel’s infertility issues.
The catwalk stunner, who is dating Russian businessman Vladislav Doronin, has revealed the removal of a cyst earlier this year
means she can now have children.
The model, 38, explains she was infertile until she underwent surgery in Brazil.
She tells People magazine, “They thought it was a cyst but when they opened it up they realized it was more. I was not able to have children up until March. Now it’s in God’s hands. I would love to have a family.”
