Mumford And Sons: Broken Up Or Going Strong?

Though on a hiatus with rumors of a split, you’ll definitely see Mumford & Sons again, because they just booked a MAJOR gig!

Mumford & Sons is headlining much anticipated 2015 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which was announced on Tuesday. The news comes almost a year after rumors first spread that band members Ted Dwane, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall, and Marcus Mumford could be parting ways.

Though representatives for the Grammy-winning group denied the talk at the time, the Bonnaroo booking is the first official evidence that the band is still together. The performers have been fairly off the grid  in the years since the September 2012 release of their second album, Babel….so still no official word if they are together, or broken up and reuniting for the event.

What do you think- are Mumford & Sons a band, or no more?

Mumford & Sons announce they’re taking an “indefinite break”

‘Mumford & Sons’ has announced that they are taking a long hiatus. According to Rolling Stone, they’re going away for an “indefinite break.”

“There won’t be any Mumford & Sons activities for the foreseeable future following Friday’s show,” keyboardist Ben Lovett told the magazine just before their Sept. 20 performance in Kansas — the last stop on their “Babel” tour.

“We just know we’re going to take a considerable amount of time off and just go back to hanging out and having no commitments or pressure or anything like that,” Lovett added.

“It feels like the last week of school right now, before school holiday when you’re in high school. The atmosphere on the road is one of … I think everyone’s excited about being free of schedules.”

The band has had a very busy year. They took home two major Grammys – including Best Album for ‘Babel’ and Best Rock Song for “I Will Wait.”

Hopefully it won’t be a long break….. We need more Mumford!

PERSONAL NOTE: Sorry posts have been slower today than normal. I am so sick – I feel like crawling in bed and dying!

Mumford & Sons give an update on bassist Ted Dwane, and share a photo!

Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane is lucky to be alive after doctors removed a blod clot in his brain.

The 28-year-old was admitted to a hospital last Monday, causing the band to postpone all their upcoming tour dates allowing time for him to heal.

Following a intricate operation to remove the clot, Ted has returned home. He posted an update on their official website along with a picture of his newly-shaved head. “Bear with a sore head! Thanks so much for all the well wishing, it seems to be working! I’m home,” he shared.

Last week Mumford & Sons shared the news on their site. “Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment. The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation.Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that we will recover quickly from surgery.”

After his surgery, they updated, “It is with great joy that we can announce that Ted has been discharged from hospital and is on the road to a full recovery,” they wrote. ‘The surgery went well, and the excellent medical team helping him are very pleased with his progress. He has been nothing short of heroic in how he has handled the whole ordeal, and now it has been medically proved that he does indeed have a brain.”

Thank God he’s okay!
