How good was The Hills last night! (Hills Recap!)

speidilouisvuittonphotoop.jpg

Do you think that Spencer is really that big of an ass - or is he just putting on a show?  I could NOT believe what he was saying to Heidi’s mom!  (Above picture obviously not from last night’s episode!)

On Monday’s show, Darlene pays a visit to Heidi.

Shocked to learn that Heidi and Spencer are living together again, she takes Spencer to lunch to see if the move is wise.

She first thanks him for letting Heidi’s sister, Holly, stay with them as she looks for a job.

But the meal turns sour when Spencer tells Darlene that Holly has ulterior motives: “Her intention is to get me out of living there so she can live with Heidi!”

Darlene replies, “Well, maybe that’s not such a bad idea.”

“What planet are you living on?” Spencer snaps. “That’s a horrible idea!”

Dismayed, Darlene tells Spencer, “I think you’re very controlling and manipulative. I think you’re condescending, rude and very hostile right now.”

Darlene later breaks down while recounting the events to Heidi.

Of Spencer, Darlene says, “Maybe he doesn’t want you to be as close to the family. Maybe I’m being controlling, but it’s hard for me. I don’t want to lose you. I just want to see you happy.”

Heidi gives her a glazed look … to be continued.

Meanwhile, Lauren has her share of drama as she confronts Spencer’s sister Stephanie about going on a dinner date with her ex, Doug.

Stephanie puts the blame on Doug, naturally.

“He was totally just using me to get back at you. Yeah, I deleted him from my phone, and I got like missed calls from him. I’m not going to call him back, obviously,” Stephanie tells Lauren.

When confronted about the date, Doug insists Stephanie blew things out of proportion.

He shows bud Brody texts from Stephanie asking him to come to her house late at night to watch movies. “Bottom line, I wanted to be friends with her,” Doug claims.

When Stephanie later shows up at Doug’s pool party, Brody grills Stephanie about being shady - a claim he has been making all season.

“I was right all along about you … don’t pretend to be innocent when you’re not,” he says before Stephanie storms off.

Doug gets miffed when he hears about the exchange. “I can’t believe this is an issue!” he exclaims.

At the end of the episode, Lauren and Stephanie hash it out once again.

“You and Doug shouldn’t have done what you’ve done, but whatever, it’s over,” Lauren tells a teary-eyed Stephanie.

“I’m sorry,” Stephanie offers.

Lauren walks again, not fully convinced she can trust Stephanie again.

Charlize Theron slams The Hills

spl47337_014.jpg

Erin and I were talking about The Hills recently, and she says “that show drives me nuts!” This of course was a total shock to me - we’ve always loved The Hills!  Someone had pointed out to her that the show is basically about nothing… She says that all they do is talk about nothing.  They go in circles - talk about what’s going to happen - or talk about what’s already happened. Of course once this has been pointed out to her - it’s all she can pay attention to anymore.

She says “nothing new ever happens on The Hills.”  Of course she’s right, but I’ll still watch it.  Erin and Charlize have something in common.  :)

Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron has seen The Hills and she doesn’t understand why it’s so popular.

“I realized that this f—ing show is huge,” Theron told MTV News Monday while promoting Battle in Seattle. “Now I’m going to ask you a question: Why?

“Why is it so big?” she asked. “It’s about nothing! This is a free country. Freedom of speech! You can tell me right now to my face that Reindeer Games was a piece of sh–. That’s totally fine.

“But The Hills is about nothing,” she continued. “I think the girls are beautiful and when they cry their mascara runs and that’s real, but I don’t get it! [Pause.] I am a nana. I’ll just take it. I am a nana. Maybe I need to watch the shows some more.”

Theron, 33, said she watched a couple of episodes in different languages because she was on a world tour.

In March, Theron was bewildered when asked by MTV about The Hills.

“I do not know what The Hills are,” she responded at the time. “Oh, now you’re going to make me look like the old fart. God, you’re a mother—-er! Unbelievable! You’re supposed to make me look like the cool movie star! Come on! Get with it! What is The Hills?”

Hills drama… and yes, I still watch it.

12-1214460942-audrina-patridge-lo-hills.jpg

It’s almost embarassing… I’m 31 years old, and I still watch The Hills and The Gauntlet.   You know you’re old when they’re booting Tonya off the island first cause she’s “old”.  If Tonya’s old, then - well, let’s not talk about it.

It seemed like Audrina Patridge was just patching things up with her roomies, and now she’s moving out. Last week Patridge finally said goodbye to living with her Hills roommates, Lauren Conrad and Lauren Bosworth.

So what drove her out of the house? “I just wanted my own place,” she tells Maxim magazine. “If anything, I feel like it will help out all our friendships.”

It’s no secret that Patridge, 23, and Bosworth, 21, don’t exactly get along—so was Lo to blame for the move? “The only reason Lo and I are friends is because of Lauren,” she tells the magazine. “They grew up together and hang out all the time; they’re like the Bobbsey Twins.”

As for LC and her other former roommate/BFF Heidi Montag, Patridge says the hatred between the two is the real deal. “They really don’t like each other, but I’m friends with both of them,” she said. “When we hang out, I don’t talk about the other. I’m like Switzerland.”

Montag, 22, is one person who has lived in Patridge’s shoes. “It’s time in Audrina’s life to move out,” Montag recently told PEOPLE during her birthday celebration Saturday night at Christian Audigier Nightclub in Las Vegas. “I’m very excited for her and I think she’ll do great.”

And if Patridge ever needs advice on how to cope post-Conrad, she can always call Montag. “I love Audrina,” Montag said. “We were friends before her and Lauren were friends. We still talk.”

It’s confirmed! Whitney gets her own spinoff!

 untitled.bmp

The much-talked-about Hills spinoff featuring Whitney Port has been officially picked up by MTV, sources confirm to E! News exclusively.

“They will start shooting immediately,” says a show source, who confirms the pickup just happened within the last two weeks—though the network has yet to respond to a call for comment.

The series, set to begin airing in early 2009, will feature Port’s life in New York City, where she is now working for Diane von Furstenberg.

Looking back, we realize Whitney’s role on The Hills could be called superfluous…

While we loved the strange faces she would often rely on in favor of words and the general disinterest in her voice when she was forced to ask Lauren questions about text messages from Heidi, we’re a bit skeptical as to how that will work as an actual show. But it’s not like that will stop us from watching!

Audrina Patridge outside her new apartment!

audrina_patridge_1_wenn2087292.jpgaudrina_patridge_2_wenn2087293.jpg

The Hills is a little less alive. At least, for now.

Following weeks of tension, tears and mascara-running moments, Audrina Patridge was seen and, of course, filmed, moving out of the guesthouse at Lauren Conrad’s L.A. home on Thursday.

The emotional (?) departure no doubt stems from the constant conflicts being staged, er, happening between Audrina, L.C. and their fellow roommate, Lo Bosworth.

Audrina moves out!

wenn5179574.jpg

The Hills girls are about to become even more distant from one another-literally! “Yes I am moving out,” Audrina Patridge confirms to In Touch as she began moving belongings from the house she shares with Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth in LA.

Audrina and Lauren fell out only weeks after they started living together with LC’s childhood pal Lo.

That’s her sister Casey Patridge and her niece Sadie Raine, btw.

TRL has been cancelled!

trl.jpg

Total Request Live has been canceled after ten years, MTV confirmed on Monday.

“Ten a great number,” Dave Sirulnick, executive producer of TRL told the Associated Press. “This feels like the right time and let’s celebrate it and let’s reward it.”

He added “Let’s let it have a little bit of a rest for a minute. Been working hard for 10 years!”

The music video show will wrap in a two-hour special on a Saturday in November.

TRL first debuted in September 1998.

The show peaked in 1999 with 757,000 viewers tuning in daily, according to Nielsen Media Research, the AP reported.

For the finale, expect to see TRL favorites including former VJ Carson Daly.

“Folks who helped make TRL what is, whether that’s Justin, and his guys in N’ Sync, the Backstreet Boys, Britney, Eminem - I think we would love to see all of them here,” Sirulnick told the AP.

“I’m going to miss TRL,” rapper Eminem said in a statement. “Where else will I be able to start feuds, defend my honor vigorously and act like an angry teenager on national TV? Oh wait … The VMAs!”
