Be still my beating heart! Ahhhh, I freaking LOVED that movie! I so wanted to be Elizabeth Shue - by the way.

According to Variety, Lynda Obst and Walt Disney Pictures are planning a remake of comedy Adventures in Babysitting and have hired the writing team of Hilary Galanoy and Elizabeth Hackett to pen the new script. The 1987 Adventures in Babysitting was penned by David Simkins and was the feature bow of helmer Chris Columbus. Obst and the late Debra Hill produced for Disney’s Touchstone label. Elizabeth Shue starred as a suburban high-school senior whose dull night of babysitting is interrupted by a call for help from a friend stuck downtown. The pic grossed $34 million.
Harry Potter starlet Emma Watson, who plays know it all Hermione Granger, has reportedly refused to commit herself to the final two films in the series.
The 16-year-old actress has become tired of being known as “that girl from Harry Potter”, the News of the World quotes teenage co-star Rupert Grint as saying.
Apparently Rupert, who has starred as the best friend of Daniel Radcliffe’s eponymous Harry in the first five movies, and Daniel himself have moved apart from Emma after she rejected the chance to earn £2 million to film Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
“Daniel and I are distant from her now. We don’t text or talk to her when we are not filming,” he told the Sunday tabloid.
But other reports state that although Emma has not signed up for the final two films, producers Warner Bros still fully expect her to.
The fifth film version of JK Rowling’s best-selling children’s series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, will reach cinema screens this summer. And the book upon which the seventh and final movie will be based on, subtitled the Deathly Hallows, will be released on July 21st this year.
Forrest Gump Gets A Sequel It’s been thirteen years since Forrest Gump first ran into theaters, and now it looks like America’s favorite chocolate loving mental deficient may be back for a sequel. Forrest Gump II isn’t a new idea, Paramount has been kicking it around since the original movie made a bajillion dollars, and in 2001 they even hired Forrest Gump writer Eric Roth to pen a sequel screenplay.
An absolutely reliable, unfortunately anonymous source, contacted the source with the latest scoop on Forrest’s impending return. It seems that old 2001 Eric Roth screenplay is being dragged out of development hell for another look by Gump producers Steve Tisch and Wendy Finerman. Remember that the first Forrest Gump movie was based on a novel by Winston Groom. Roth’s sequel script was based on Groom’s followup novel, “Gump & Co”. “Gump & Co” takes place several years after “Forrest Gump” and finds Forrest’s shrimping business failed and Jenny dead, leaving Forrest a single unemployed father. As you’d expect, Gump still stumbles through more important historical events. In this case it’s a cavalcade of history from the 80s and 90s. He even meets Tom Hanks.
So, why didn’t Paramount make this five years ago when Roth first wrote the script? Apparently the project got bogged down in a big legal tiff between Groom, the book’s original author, and the studio. Groom claimed he wasn’t properly paid for Forrest Gump, and so refused to sell them the sequel rights to his other book. Evidently they’ve now worked it out.
The truly important question here is whether or not Tom Hanks will return. Our source says Finerman and Tisch are talking to him, but there’s nothing definitive yet. It is however likely that Gary Sinise will be back as Forrest’s battle damaged buddy Lt. Dan. If Tom can’t be talked into it, will they replace him? Word is they want this in theaters within the next couple of years, so while it’s possible, let’s hope they’re smart enough to scrap it if he’s not interested. No one does a better potty dance.

Did you go see it? What did you think?
I went and saw The Zodiac on Friday. WOW…that was an AMAZING movie…
Carrie Fisher has topped a new Internet poll to find the Hottest Nerd Crush of all time. The actress’ portrayal of Princess Leia in Star Wars beat Gillian Anderson’s X-Files detective Dana Scully in the new Maxim.com hit list, which focuses on the hottest comic book characters and sci-fi stars.
The top 10 list is:
Did your nerd crush make the list? Sweet picture, by the way. I’ve got 2 boys…I’ve seen ALL the Star Wars movies at least a hundred times. I don’t remember the Star Wars where Princess Leia went to the beach. But maybe I missed that part.

A movie about the less-than-spectacular career of disgraced pop duo Milli Vanilli is set to be produced.
Universal Pictures is developing the movie about the lip-synching combo, who lost their coveted Grammy for best new artist in 1990 when it emerged that they had never sung on their records, Hollywood trade paper Daily Variety reports.
The project will be written and directed by Jeff Nathanson, who previously wrote the Leonardo DiCaprio crime caper Catch Me If You Can.
He has secured the cooperation of Milli Vanilli alumnus Fabrice Morvan, who has been pursuing a comeback for years, as well as the estate of his colleague, Rob Pilatus, who died of a drug overdose in 1998.
“I’ve always been fascinated by the notion of fakes and frauds, and in this case, you had guys who pulled off the ultimate con, selling 30 million singles and 11 million albums and then becoming the biggest laughing-stocks of pop entertainment,” the paper quoted Nathanson as saying.
PS…this is the coolest news I’ve heard in ages. Rock on!
