The chick in the passenger seat during Morgan Freeman’s “horrific” car crash in August has announced she’s suing the actor … but who cares about her injuries — she’s finally going to reveal if she’s his mistress!!!

In true Gloria Allred fashion, she’s holding a press conference today to announce that Demaris Meyer will “tell the truth about whether or not she was the ‘other woman’ in an intimate relationship with then-married actor Morgan Freeman when she was seriously injured as he was driving her car late at night.”

In the press release (of course Gloria issued a press release), Allred claims she will also display “never before seen graphic and disturbing photos of the car in which the actor and the woman were riding will be displayed.”

Morgan Freeman has been a constant, familiar face on the silver screen, acting in classics like Driving Miss Daisy, Shawshank Redemption and Million Dollar Baby.

And now the Oscar winner, 71, who survived a serious car crash this summer, will be receiving another award for his hard work: he will be honored at this year’s Kennedy Center Awards. in December in Washington, D.C.

Morgan, along with fellow winners Barbra Streisand, Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend and others, will have his career celebrated at a gala in December in Washington, D.C.

The Kennedy Center awards figures from the entertainment and arts world every year for their contributions to American culture. Spokesman Stephen Schwarzman says that all of the honorees this year have “extraordinary genius and tenacity,” and that their work had “redefined the way we see, hear and feel the performing arts.”

The winners will also be celebrated at a reception given by President Bush and first lady Laura Bush at the last White House reception to be held by the current administration.

Morgan Freeman has been released from a Tennessee hospital – just days after he was involved in a serious weekend car crash.

Freeman and a female passenger had to be cut free from the wreckage and airlifted to the Regional Medical Center (The Med) in Memphis, Tennessee on Sunday night, after the actor lost control of his vehicle on the highway near his home in Charleston, Mississippi.

Kathy Stringer, a spokeswoman for The Med, said Freeman was discharged on Thursday after undergoing surgery, but gave no further details.

The 71-year-old Oscar winner was said to be “in good spirits” on Monday when he arrived at the hospital before his surgery took place, repairing a broken arm, broken elbow and shoulder damage.

He will be required to wear a neck brace for six to eight months, according to his attorney and business partner Bull Luckett.

Luckett adds: “The doctors have said it will be six months to a year before he plays golf again. He hates that.”

Freeman’s passenger, Demaris Meyer – whose relationship to the actor is unknown – has reportedly suffered only minor injuries in the accident.

ET confirms Morgan Freeman has been released from the Memphis hospital where he was airlifted Sunday night following a serious car accident in Mississippi.

“I left the hospital today just after 12 noon, Memphis time,” Freeman tells ET exclusively. “I’m doing very well. I feel real good. I just really, I thank the staff at Elvis Presley [medical facility] and many, many thanks to my many well-wishers. It’s great to know people care about you.”

‘The Dark Knight’ actor underwent surgery on Monday to reconnect nerves and to repair damage to his left arm and hand.

Days after he was involved in a serious car accident, a friend of “Dark Knight” star Morgan Freeman confirmed to Access Hollywood that the actor is getting a divorce.

Freeman and his wife of 24-years, costumer Myrna Colley-Lee, “are involved in a divorce action,” the actor’s Mississippi-based attorney and business partner Bill Luckett told Access Hollywood. “And for legal and practical purposes, (Freeman and Colley-Lee) have been separated since December of 2007.”

Freeman was involved in an accident late Sunday night, during which the car he was driving flipped end-over-end. The actor and his female passenger, identified as Demaris Meyer, were driving on Mississippi Highway 32 in a rural area of Tallahatchie County at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, when Freeman’s car went off the right side of the road and flipped over.

Freeman and Meyer, who has been described as the actor’s friend, were on the way to Freeman’s home when the accident occurred.

The doors were jammed on the vehicle and both of them had to be removed from the car with the Jaws of Life, a spokesperson for the Mississippi Highway Patrol confirmed to Access.

Though the accident was serious, Freeman was conscious as he was pulled him from the car, according to Clay McFerrin, editor of the Sun Sentinel in Charleston, who was on the scene of the accident.

“He was lucid, conscious,” McFerrin told the Associated Press. “He was talking, joking with some of the rescue workers at one point.”

Freeman and Meyer were airlifted to Regional Medical Center in Memphis, where the actor underwent surgery after suffering a broken arm, broken elbow and minor shoulder damage in the crash.

The accident is currently under investigation, but no alcohol was involved, Mississippi Highway Patrol told Access. The spokesperson went on to say that no charges have been filed against Freeman.

Freeman won an Oscar for his work in 2004’s “Million Dollar Baby.”

The veteran actor owns a home in Charleston, Miss, and is also a co-owner of a blues club and a restaurant in Clarksdale, Miss., which is near where the accident took place.
