‘Modern Family’ cast almost triples their pay-per-episode following nasty standoff!

The ‘Modern Family’ cast have settled a long and bitter salary debate, ending in their favor!

The ABC’s adult cast; Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O’Neill, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara, have closed deals that will nearly triple their previous salaries.

The cast was making $65,000 per episode, and now, following the salary dispute, the cast will earn somewhere around $170,000 – $175,000 per episode! With a season of 22 episodes, that means the cast will earn $3.8 million per season.

Agreeing in principle to their new contracts with producer 20th Century Fox Friday, the actors have also dropped the lawsuit filed July 24 that claimed their current contracts were a violation of a California law that prohibits personal service contracts from exceeding seven years.

As part of the new deal, the actors will add a year to their existing seven-season contracts, despite 20th Century Fox’s request to add two.

“It’s no surprise, but I’m of course thrilled and I cannot wait to get on stage Monday morning and start making the show again,” co-creator Steve Levitan told The Hollywood Reporter.

Added co-creator Christopher Lloyd: “It was a distraction more than anything. And I think the cast feels the same way. It was never arduous. Now other people can go on with the numbers and we’ll go on with the letters.”

What do you think about their raise? Do you think the cast deserves it? I tend to think the cast typically DOES deserve the money. You know the network can afford it, and the actors are the ones making the show successful. Something tells me before the show is done – they’ll get more raises!

‘Glee’ cast shined on the red carpet – but left completely empty handed at the SAG Awards!

Despite being winners on the red carpet, the entire Glee cast went home empty handed after losing out in all three categories they were nominated for.

After sweeping the board a few weeks ago at the Golden Globes, where Glee took home Best Television Series, the show didn’t manage to scoop any awards.

Jane Lynch also lost out on the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series to Betty White in Hot In Cleveland.

The entire cast also missed out on the gong for Best Ensemble for comedy, which went to Modern Family.

But the stars were gracious in defeat, tweeting their congratulations to their rivals after the show.

Amber Riley wrote: ‘Congratulations Modern Family! You totally deserve it!!!!’

She added: ‘Thank u guys for all the love, seriously means the world to us Gleeks! Gnite.’

While Lea Michele tweeted: ‘Lea What a great night! So happy for Modern Family and the other winners tonight! Such a fun night!’

First Look! Check out James Marsden in ‘Modern Family’

He’s mostly known for his roles in action flicks (X-Men) and romances (The Notebook). So what’s Marsden doing on ABC’s Modern Family? “James is hilarious,” series star Jesse Tyler Ferguson (pictured lying down) says of the actor, who appears in an episode early next year as a reiki practitioner who moves in next door to Mitchell (Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet). “Believe me, he would not have been in Mitchell and Cam’s hot tub if he wasn’t funny — okay, funny and hot.”
