Donald Trump just told TMZ he gave the green light to fire Carrie Prejean’s award-winning butt because she just wouldn’t do the job and treated people badly.

Trump told TMZ Carrie refused to appear at around 30 events on behalf of Miss California USA. He says Prejean was contractually bound to appear and she just wouldn’t do it. He doesn’t think her attitude has anything to do with her politics.

Trump said: “To me she was the sweetest thing. Everyone else — she treated like s**t.”

We’ve learned “biblically correct” Carrie Prejean will lose her Miss California USA crown today because she doesn’t play well with others.

Sources connected with the pageant tell us even Donald Trump has now had it with Carrie, because she’s violating her contract by not getting clearance to do her extracurricular stuff.

We’re also told Carrie has been a no-show for appearances she was supposed to make for the pageant organization.

The firing, we’re told, is strictly based on Carrie breaching her contract. It’s not based on her political and moral views.

Carrie is getting her walking papers this afternoon.

The new Miss California USA will be Miss Malibu Tami Farrell.

Beauty queens are in the eye of the beholder. And for Donald Trump, Carrie Prejean will always be a beauty queen.

Trump, the owner of the Miss Universe Organization and thus decider of Miss California’s fate, resolved today to let the scandal-scarred and contract-violating titleholder keep her crown, over yesterday’s urgings of Golden State pageant officials.

“Carrie will remain Miss California,” the Donald announced at a press conference this morning, adding that “we are in the 21st century.”

“We’ve really studied these photos,” he said. “We’ve made a determination that everything we’ve seen to date that she’s done—some were very beautiful, some were risqué—the pictures taken were acceptable, were fine, and in some cases were lovely pictures.”

The aesthetic argument is one Trump returned to several times over the course of explaining his decision.

“If Carrie weren’t so beautiful, this never would have come up,” he said. “Carrie is totally beautiful. And her answer, because of that, took on more importance. Unfortunately, that’s the way the press works. You should be ashamed of yourselves.”

As for Prejean, she took time out to give thanks to her own holy trinity: Trump and Miss California officials, her fans, and—no acceptance speech is complete without him—God.

“I would like to thank the thousands of Americans who have sent letters, sent emails, messages…I cannot count the number of fan mail I have received in the past three weeks of people expressing their support to me,” she said, choking back tears. “They have confided in me that they have found hope and inspiration in my story.

“Most importantly, I would like to thank God for trusting me with this large task and giving me the strength to stand by my beliefs.”

And while she dismissed the recent spate of leaked topless photos as one-off poses, Photoshopped snaps and otherwise unknowing outtakes from a surf magazine shoot, she did spend some time explaining the other alleged violation of her Miss California contract—lobbying against same-sex marriages.

“Being at the center of a media firestorm is not something I had planned or signed up for,” she said. “Let me be clear, I am not an activist, nor do I have a personal agenda.

“I was thrown into this firestorm from the time I was asked the question on stage.”

Racy photos of Miss California Carrie Prejean have popped up on the Internet — and she says it’s an attempt to humiliate her because of her anti-gay marriage views.

“On April 19, I chose to answer a question during the 2009 Miss USA pageant in an honest and personal manner that expressed my views of the long-established definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman,” Prejean, 21, said in a statement Tuesday. “Yet my comments defending traditional marriage have led to intimidation tactics that seek to undermine my reputation and somehow silence me and my beliefs, as if opinion is only a one-way street.”

One leaked shot shows Prejean wearing nothing but undies and covering her breast. Prejean insisted the pics are just modeling shots.

“I am a Christian, and I am a model,” she said. “Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos.”

She added that the shots, taken of her as a teengaer, were “released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith.”

“I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be,” she went on. “But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others’ opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks.”

Despite the controversy, she said she “will continue to support and defend marriage as the honorable institution it is. I will continue to stand with the overwhelming majority of the American people and the voters of my home state of California.”

“If this whole experience has taught me anything,” she concluded, “it is our precious right to speak freely, and how we as Americans can never allow anyone or any group to intimidate or threaten us to keep silent.”

It remains to be seen whether the shots could affect her status as a spokeswoman for conservative causes or her future involvement with the Miss California pageant. (In 1984, Vanessa Williams had to resign her Miss America crown after revealing photos she had posed for in 1982 were leaked to reporters.)

Miss California Carrie Prejean says she believes her anti-same sex marriage stance hurt her chances of winning Sunday’s Miss USA competition.

At the Las Vegas pageant, Prejean, 21, was asked by judge Perez Hilton how she felt about legalizing gay marriage. “In my country, and in my family, I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman,” she replied. She later lost out to Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton.

“It did cost me my crown,” Prejean said of her response on Monday’s Billy Bush Show. “I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I said what I feel. I stated an opinion that was true to myself and that’s all I can do.”

“It is a very touchy subject and [Hilton] is a homosexual and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would’ve wanted me to be more politically correct,” she added. “But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything.”

In an interesting twist, Prejean revealed that her sister supports same sex marriage.

“My sister is a second lieutenant in the Air Force and she is a gay rights activist,” she said of her sib, who is not gay. “She supports gay people, she supports gay marriage. My beliefs have nothing to do with my sister or my mom, or whatever.”

Her sister wasn’t offended by her remarks at the pageant.

“She was just in my hotel room and she said, ‘Sis, I’m not offended by anything that you said. We have two different opinions and I love you because of it. I love you because you stood up for what was right, and it’s not a matter of being gay or not gay, it’s a matter of you competing for Miss USA and getting a question and answering it to the best of your ability,”” she said.

Added Prejean, “That’s what’s so great about being an American – we’re able to have our own opinions.”

Despite all the controversy, “I feel like I won. I feel like I’m the winner. I really do,” Prejean said, adding that she had 1,000 messages on Facebook and 2,000 friend requests.

Asked about rumors that she is dating Michael Phelps, she said, “He is a great man. Wouldn’t you like to know, Billy Bush? We can talk about that a different day.”

Miss USA Tara Conner, who checked out of rehab on Jan. 21, says she used cocaine prior to her treatment.

“Cocaine was one of the drugs that I did use. It’s hard to look back at that,” she tells PEOPLE in its new issue. “I was an equal-opportunity [user] – I would try anything once.”

The 21-year-old Russell Springs, Ky., native spent 31 days at the Caron Foundation rehab facility in Wernersville, Pa., as part of a “second chance” offered to her by Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe organization, following press reports of underage drinking, drug use and promiscuity.

When asked about the rumored romantic escapades, she hedges: “I would talk to more than one guy at once – it doesn’t mean that I was sexually active with every one of these people.”

It was alcohol, she says, that had the biggest hold on her. Citing a family history of alcoholism, Conner says that for many years she was “a functioning alcoholic. If I got caught [drinking], I would stop – I was able to do that.”

(Conner also says in a Today interview airing Thursday, “I have done cocaine, yes.” According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Conner tells Matt Lauer she took antidepressants and other drugs that triggered an allergic reaction.)

Before rehab, she tells PEOPLE, “I thought I needed to be around people, that I needed that acceptance.” Now, instead of going to clubs, she enjoys reading at home – a home she shares with a chaperone.

“I just can’t wait to get back to work,” she says. ” ‘I’m Miss U.S.A., my name is Tara Conner, and I’m happy to meet you,’ you know? Life’s good.”
