Ashley Tisdale & Miley Cyrus are Hollywood’s new power girls

Miley Cyrus

In the wake of the deaths of both Heath Ledger and Brad Renfro in the same week, a new generation of Hollywood’s power girls are speaking up. They’ve pledged that they will not wind up with the same tragic fate.

These young ladies tell Us they keep their heads on straight:

Says honoree Amanda Bynes, 21: “I don’t like to drink. I have definitely stayed out of the party scene. I’ve been offered to go to those parties, but I feel like I would be the one who would die if I did something.”

Of today’s out of control club-goers, she adds, “I don’t know how they think they’re gonna live forever.”

Echoes High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale, 22: “I don’t drink, and I don’t smoke. It’s a personal preference. My mom has never drunk or smoked. I look up to my mom.”

She tells Us she doesn’t get how her Hollywood counterparts can find time for clubbing.

“I don’t understand how people do it —I work non-stop! Then when I’m done working, I’m just so tired I just want to be home,” she says.

“Clubs are just not where I want to be photographed,” adds country singer Taylor Swift, 18.

She also says she realizes the impact her actions could have on her younger fans.

“For everything I do, I think about a 6-year-old girl and her mom that I saw at my concert last night,” she tells Us. “I think about what those two individuals would think if I were at a club last night.

“I never want to be arrested, and I never want to get a DUI,” Swift says. “Those are my moral values. I am an over-achiever, and I want to be known for the good things in my life.”

Childhood star-turned-teen queen Raven-Symone obeys a rule: “I like to be in by 1 or 2 a.m. because [you can get in more trouble] at night. Anytime really, but the night scares me sometimes.”

Miley Cyrus, 15 — Hollywood’s No. 1. power girl — offered this tip to today’s troubled young stars.

“The most important thing is really staying true to yourself,” she tells Us. “That’s what my mom taught me. She’s the most beautiful girl, not only on the outside but on the inside. She’s teaching me how to be a good person.”

Miley Cyrus speaks to ET about staying out of trouble, and being a role model.

miley_cyrus_11808.jpg

Miley Cyrus  tells ET that her parents have kept her in line through her sudden rise to fame, “I have to give it to my parents. They don’t tell me that I can’t do something. They say, ‘you know what, if this is your dream and it’s important to you, then go ahead and do it.’ It’s a trust thing. That’s what my parent’s relationship is built on. I trust my parents and my parents trust me.”

Using her father, Billy Ray Cyrus‘ experience in the spotlight as an example, Miley says she knows how to avoid burning out, “My dad says that we train like athletes. You’ve got to start slow, you can’t start out going into a sprint, or you will get tired and worn out. When you get tired and you’re not having fun anymore, then it becomes so much like work that you’re not even chasing your dream. That thing that keeps me strong is the little bit of fire that I do want to keep going.”

On being a role model for young girls, “I don’t want to be perfect, but I do want to be a role model. My mom always tells me that imperfections equal beauty. All of us are imperfect. I’m not always happy-go-lucky. I do get frustrated.”

The number one rule in the Cyrus household? “I’m always super respectful of my parents, that’s the biggest rule in our house, but they respect me back.” As for her personal life, Miley exclaims, “I’m single!”

Miley Cyrus reveals her stage magic

During her wildly popular concert, Miley Cyrus plays two roles: herself and Hannah Montana, her TV alter ego. Just how does she do it? A body double, of course!

“To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of ‘We Got the Party’ incorporating a body double for Miley,” Cyrus’s rep said in a statement to E! News.

The body double is only on stage for a minute or two during the singer’s song with the Jonas Brothers “in order to allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set,” the rep explained.

In a video, which made the rounds on the Web last week and enraged some fans, the 15-year-old star is briefly cloaked in a black sheet to slip backstage (around the 2:30 minute mark) and the look-alike immediately emerges to finish the number.

Regardless of the stage trickery, her rep said, “Miley performs live during the entirety of both the Hannah and Miley segments of the concert.”

Miley Cyrus accused of using a stunt double

Hanna Montana star Miley Cyrus recently avoided a minor scandal involving some semi-racy pics of her with a female friend surfacing on the internet - but fans of the 15-year-old actress are feeling cheated following some apparent on stage shenanigans.

According to several disgruntled fans of the teen sensation - many of whom shelled out hundreds of dollars to watch the young singer perform live on her current sold-out national tour, Miley has not only been lip-syncing to her own songs, she has also been using a not very convincing “Hannah” double to cover for her on-stage while she goes off to make a costume change.

One Miley fan fumed to OK! Magazine: “When it got the to bridge of the song “We Got the Party,” her dancers began to crowd around her.

“Then they covered her with a black sheet and she went through a secret door. Within a second, a new ‘Hannah’ came out of a different door wearing oversized white glasses. The whole time this was happening Miley’s vocals were still playing. It was obvious that the song was being lip-synced. The new imposter had her back turned from the stage while she danced trying to hide that fact that was not Miley Cyrus. At this instant I became very suspicious.”

“Needless to say I was furious!” says the irate fan. “I paid good money to see the concert. I was disappointed and I felt like I was played for a fool.”

Miley’s rep did not respond to calls for comment.

Mother apologizes for daughter’s fake Hannah Montana essay

A Texas mother admits she helped her daughter win tickets in a contest by writing an essay falsely claiming the girl’s father had died in a roadside bombing in Iraq.

Priscilla Ceballos apologized Friday by reading a statement on NBC’s Today Show.

She said she just got caught up in trying to help her daughter “realize her dream of seeing Hannah Montana.

“Instead I brought so much negative attention to my family,” she said. “Please accept my heartfelt apology and please do not punish my child for my mistake.”

Ceballos also apologized to the military and military families.

“I just wanted to help my daughter write a compelling story,” she said. “There is no more compelling story than the struggle and sacrifices of our military and their families.”

The essay — which featured the opening line, “My daddy died this year in Iraq” — won the grand prize in a contest, sponsored by Chicago-based chain Club Libby Lu.

The prize included airfare for four to Albany, New York, and four tickets to a sold-out Hannah Montana concert there, as well as a makeover that included a blonde Hannah Montana wig.

After Ceballos admitted to store officials that the essay information was untrue, the prize was awarded to another unnamed contestant.

Miley Cyrus & Nick Jonas Are Dunzo

Miley & Nick

Big news on tour centers around the relationship between Miley and Nick Jonas - who have reportedly broken off a relationship which began at the beginning of the tour.

A source told the NY Post, “They just broke up, but not many people even knew they were going out.”

Meanwhile, as expected, a spokesman for Cyrus didn’t offer any info, simply saying, “We do not comment on our client’s personal life.”

How long were they even together? They’re not going to get to enjoy the perks of being on tour together … sad!

Let’s hope that one young star can stay on the straight and narrow.  It’s really depressing watching all these young stars turn into - well, skanks and felons.

We’re rootin for ya Miley!
