Michelle Rodriguez returning to Lost!

michelle_rodriguez_gossip_1.jpg

Multiple sources have confirmed to Michael Ausiello exclusively that Michelle Rodriguez (a.k.a. Ana Lucia) is returning to Lost for one episode in the new season.

Details of her comeback are, not surprisingly, shrouded in secrecy, but here’s what Entertainment Weekly can tell you:

  • Rodriguez is back for one episode, most likely this season’s second. As a result, the risk to Hawaii’s roadways is said to be minimal.
  • Given that Ana Lucia’s bullet-riddled body is probably entering the final stage of rigor mortis, conventional Lost wisdom (if there is such a thing) suggests she’ll be appear in someone’s flashback or via hallucination. The fact that Cheech Marin is also on the guest list for eppy 2, suggests that it’s most likely the latter and the person seeing dead people is Hurley. There’s also this theory, put forth by EW’s own Doc Jensen: “Maybe Ana Lucia busted L.A.-based Ghost Hustler Miles during her pre-crash LAPD days, and now the freighter folkster is seeing visions of the late Tailie on the Island!”
  • Rodriguez’ return follows last season’s “resurrection” of fellow doomed tailie Cynthia Watros (Libby), who appeared in a vision to Michael. Could Mr. Eko next, thus completing, as Jensen jests, the Busted Tailie Storyline Redemption Tour?”

Michelle Rodriguez released from jail

It’s unclear why she was released early.

Michelle Rodriguez reports to jail!

michelle_rodriguez.jpg

Michelle Rodriguez reported to jail Sunday in Lynwood, Calif. to begin serving her six-month sentence for violating probation in a DUI case.

According to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Web site, the former Lost star was booked at 4:33 p.m. in the same facility where Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Lindsay Lohan did their time.

Although Superior Court Judge Daviann L. Mitchell forbid an early release for Rodriguez, the sheriff may have no choice but to override that order due to jail overcrowding, legal experts say.

Rodriguez may also get out early for good behavior, which is granted by state law.

The actress was sentenced on Oct. 10 after she “admitted violating her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of her community service and for consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring device,” the L.A. City Attorney’s office said.

Rodriguez, 29, had been serving an extended probation term for several driving infractions.

In May 2006, she served only four hours and 20 minutes of a two-month sentence at the Lynwood Jail for violating probation from a DUI arrest in Hawaii in December 2005.

She served just over two days in a Honolulu jail for that case.

In June 2004, Rodriguez had been placed on three years probation after pleading no contest to DUI and driving with a suspended license from two separate incidents in the Hollywood area in 2003.

Michelle Rodriguez passes drug test.

michelle_rodriguez1.jpg

Michelle Rodriguez has submitted herself for a drugs test - so she can prove to the media she’s not a cocaine user.

The actress was furious after Perez Hilton accused her of snorting cocaine during frequent bathroom trips at a Hollywood party they both attended last weekend.

And to prove she was clean, Rodriguez immediately requested a drugs test.

Tmz.com reports the actress was tested for methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, opiates, alcohol and other things on Monday. None were detected.

A pal tells the website, “She is not a drug addict and she doesn’t even drink anymore”.

Since the test, Rodriguez has jetted off to New Zealand to film James Cameron’s Avatar. She is due back in Los Angeles in December, when she will serve 180 days in jail for violating her probation.

She’ll serve her time at Lynwood Jail, where Paris Hilton spent 23 days earlier this year.

Michelle Rodriguez will be fine in jail.

michelle_rodriguez.jpg

Michelle Rodriguez remains “as positive as ever” despite her six-month prison sentence for violating probation in a DUI case, according to a posting from the webmaster on her official MySpace page.

“Yes, it’s true. 180 days in county jail. That is her sentence,” the message reads. “But all is well. She is and will be just fine. Just hours after this ruling, she’s as positive as ever.”

A brief note was also posted on her official Web site, Michelle-Rodriguez.com. That message reads simply: “Yes, it’s true. But Michelle is Michelle, so no worries. Check back.”

The former Lost star must report to a Los Angeles County jail by Dec. 24 as well as complete 30 days of road clean-up duty. In the meantime, though, she’s got a major job pending.

“Michelle will still be leaving for New Zealand to film James Cameron’s Avatar and will then report back to turn herself in to serve her sentence on Christmas Eve,” says the MySpace posting. “Michelle is a survivor and is always growing from her experiences, and this will be no different.”

Rodriguez stars alongside Sigourney Weaver in the $190 million sci-fi epic from the Titanic director. The film is due for a May 2009 release.

The MySpace posting urges fans to support Rodriguez but not worry about her. “Keep her in your thoughts and prayers and send your love and positivity her way and again, know that she currently is and always will be alright,” it reads. “Nothing will bring her down, especially not something like this.”

Breaking News: Michelle Rodriguez Sentenced to Six Months in Jail

Michelle Rodriguez Jail

Too bad she didn’t have Paris’ lawyer!

Michelle Rodriguez was sentenced Wednesday to six months in jail for violating probation in a DUI case.

“(She) admitted violating her probation by failing to provide proof of completion of her community service and for consuming alcohol three times while wearing an alcohol-monitoring device,” said the L.A. City Attorney’s office in a statement.

The Lost star must report to a Los Angeles County jail by Dec. 24.

Superior Court Judge Daviann L. Mitchell also ruled that the actress is not to be granted an early release, despite L.A.’s jail overcrowding. She was also ordered to complete 30 days of road clean-up duty.

The City Attorney’s office had alleged that Rodriguez turned in a false document showing that she completed one day of service on Sept. 25, court filings show. The actress later stated that she was in New York on that date.

Her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Last month, her previous attorney, Richard Beada, said: “We believe this is all due to a clerical error. My client did complete the full 30 days.”

Rodriguez, 29, had been serving an extended probation term for numerous driving infractions.

In May 2006, she served only four hours and 20 minutes of a two-month sentence at the Lynwood, Calif., jail for violating probation, stemming from a DUI arrest in Hawaii in December 2005.

She served, however, just over two days in a Honolulu jail in that case.

In June 2004, Rodriguez had been placed on three years’ probation after pleading no contest to DUI and driving with a suspended license from two separate incidents in the Hollywood area in 2003.
