Color her unimpressed.  Madonna tells Ryan Seacrest this morning that M.I.A. was childish for her Super Bowl middle finger flip-off.

“I was really surprised. I didn’t know anything about it. I wasn’t happy about it. I understand it’s punk rock and everything, but to me there was such a feeling of love and good energy, and positivity, it seemed negative. It’s such a teenager … irrelevant thing to do … there was such a feeling of love and unity there. What was the point? It was just out of place.”

Rapper/singer M.I.A. and her middle finger made their Super Bowl debut yesterday, and now the artist is looking at a huge fine for her indecent gesture at the end of the performance. TMZ reports that NBC isn’t even worried about the NFL taking the heat, because after CBS had that whole Janet Jackson nip slip fiasco years ago, they’re going straight to the entertainers.

But the NFL was smart, given the history of performers who wanted to do something shocking to get attention during the biggest TV event of the year.  So we’re told … M.I.A. signed a contract with the NFL for the halftime performance, and in that contract M.I.A. agreed to indemnify the NFL for any money it might be forced to pay if the FCC comes down on the Peacock Network.

Remember, CBS was hit with a $550,000 FCC fine after Janet Jackson’s famous wardrobe malfunction, but that fine was thrown out by a federal appeals court.

Sources tell us … aside from the fact that the NFL doesn’t want to pay a huge fine, the organization wants to send a message to performers — don’t you dare screw with us.

We don’t know if the NFL got a similar indemnity clause from Madonna.

According to TMZ instead of the name ‘Ickitt’ which was reported to be her baby’s name earlier, it’s actually…. Ikhyd Edgar Arular Bronfman.

M.I.A. didn’t give her baby an “icky” name after all.

The rapper took to her MySpace blog to shoot down reports that she named her newborn baby boy “Ickitt.”

She wrote: “MY BABY IS NOT CALLED ICKITT, PICKIT OR LICKIT THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO ALL THE HOLLYWOOD PRESS. HES A BABY, HE DONT NEED PRESS! I DIDNT RELEASE THE BABY NAME BECAUSE I DIDNT THINK IT WAS NEWS!!!! BUT I WILL BE BACK WITH SOMETHING NEWS WORTHY SOON , TILL THEN GO PICK ON APPLE, SATCHEL AND MOON UNIT. LOTS OF LOVE STICKIT!!”

Latina first reported that the “Paper Planes” singer had chosen the bizarre baby name.

The boy was born Feb. 11. She famously performed “Swagga Like Us” with Jay-Z, T.I., Lil Wayne and Kanye West at the Grammys Feb. 8 — the same day she was due.

The boy was born Feb. 11. She described him as “healthy, fine, beautiful and the most amazing thing ever on this planet.”

The “Paper Planes” rapper famously performed “Swagga Like Us” with Jay-Z, T.I., Lil Wayne and Kanye West at the Grammys Feb. 8 — the same day she was due.

“Ickett” is the first child for M.I.A (real name: Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam) and her fiance, musician Benjamin Bronfman.

British artist M.I.A. finally put rumors to rest when she confirmed on Saturday that she is pregnant with her first child.

“I’m creating a baby,” the singer, 31, told Pitchfork Media. The news came on top of the success of her single “Paper Planes.”

“When I found out I was pregnant and ‘Paper Planes’ was in the iTunes top 10, it seemed like the whole world was reshuffled in one week, and all my plans went out the window,” the artist said. “I’ve got two kids, that’s what it feels like. And that’s the lesson – you can’t make plans.”

She and fiancé Ben Brewer, lead singer and guitarist of The Exit, did not reveal when the baby is due or the gender, but they made sure their fans knew they are serious about having a child. “I got engaged first, then I got pregnant, kids,” M.I.A. said.

The singer also told Pitchfork she’s recording some tracks for her new album, a follow up to 2008′s Kala.

But before she gets started on any new projects, she has to go on a different kind of tour.

“I have to do the rounds – go see my family and show them the belly.”
