So much happens everyday on the fight between Mel Gibson and ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. I’ll update you here on the latest!

* TMZ is reporting that the reason why Mel Gibson flew off the handle during the now-famous January 6th fight is because he had quit smoking that day. According to Oksana, Mel had tried to quit smoking unsuccessfully once a month and that he had tried again on the 6th. What made Mel snap was he accused Oksana of hanging out with her son’s father at a basketball game.

*According to RadarOnline, Oksana suffered a concussion as a result of the fight. One day after the fight, Oksana sought help from her dentist. The dentist took pictures, and noted that she had suffered a punch in the face. Two days after the fight, Oksana was complaining of headaches, and sought medical help from a her doctor. Her doctor diagnosed her with a concussion “as a result of the punches to her face”.  She told her doctor that her eyes were not tracking properly, and he ordered x-rays. She was then diagnosed with a concussion.

*Oksana is being investigated for extortion. Steve Whitmore tells TMZ, “Extortion allegations have been brought to our attention and we are certainly going to be looking at that.” Sources connected with Gibson have told TMZ they have “hard proof” of extortion. Sources say deputies will also be investigating the allegations that Oksana made false claims.

UPDATE: According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mel Gibson also has text message evidence. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that after the disturbing Mel Gibson audiotapes became public this month, Oksana Grigorieva wrote Gibson a text message explaining why she had surreptitiously recorded their conversations. According to a source familiar with the case, Grigorieva wrote that the reason she recorded him was because “you broke your agreement with me.” The source said there are additional e-mails that likely will be used by Gibson’s attorneys to prove that Grigorieva attempted to use the tapes to extort money from Gibson. The source added that Gibson’s ex-girlfriend also was upset about the breakup and looking to reconcile.

*LATEST: A key part of the criminal investigation against Mel Gibson is a text message he sent Oksana the day after the incident. According to RadarOnline.com Mel sent Oksana a text message the following day which read: “Oksana, I wasn’t safe for you last night.” He followed that text with this one: “I spent two hours with a therapist today and have regained some perspective. What I’m telling you know is I am safe & would like to come by and make amends to you, Sascha and Lucia. I won’t stay, just let you say your peace and I’ll say mine.”

RadarOnline.com, who has mysteriously gotten their hands on all the evidence against Mel Gibson, today are publishing a photo of Mel Gibson’s baby after she was allegedly punched by Mel Gibson. Oksana has reported that Mel Gibson struck her twice while she held their baby, and one of the punches grazed the baby’s chin.

I’ve had mixed feelings about all this evidence that has shown up on RadarOnline.com. But I think posting a picture of the baby’s face is taking things a bit far. (If you want to see the picture – go here)

Oksana used the photograph to plead with the judge to allow her primary custody of their daughter, Lucia. The photo shows a small abrasion on the chin. The baby was two months old at the time of the big brawl, which occurred in January.

The Department of Children and Family Services has their hands on the photograph, and will be interviewing Mel later this week.

Oksana told authorities that she was holding Lucia when Mel punched her in the mouth and then in the left temple, causing her to fall backward onto a bed.

She says the Oscar-winning actor/director then put a forearm across her throat and used the palm of his free hand to cover her face, causing her to gasp, struggle and fear for her life.

“Oksana said right after the incident, she observed blood and a small abrasion on Lucia’s chin, which was not there before the incident,” said a source, who is familiar with the law enforcement investigation.

“She took photographed the abrasion that night.” Those photos are now evidence.

In the sixth audio tape to hit the web, Mel Gibson spews more threats and insults at girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.

“You hit me, and you hit her (Lucia) while she was in my hands! Mel, you’re losing your mind. You need medication,” Oksana tells him on the newly released tape.

And Mel, raging at Oksana, is caught on audio telling her: “I want my child, and no one will believe you.”

But this, the sixth excerpt released exclusively by RadarOnline.com, may have the most serious consequences for Gibson, as a criminal investigation has been launched against him while he and Oksana battle in court for custody of their eight-month-old daughter Lucia. An investigation by the Department of Children and Family Services is also ongoing.

In the crucial part of the newly released tape, Oksana refers to January 6, the night she alleges Mel punched her in the face and damaged her two upper front teeth.

Oksana: You cannot raise the child with these symptoms.

Mel: What?

Oksana: You’re acting as a crazy man right now and you have been for many, many months. And you hit me, and you hit her (Lucia) while she was in my hands! Mel, you’re losing your mind. You need medication.”

Mel: You need a f*cking kick up the a** for being a b*tch, c*nt, gold digging whore! With a p*ssy son! And I want my child, and no one will believe you! So f*ck you!”

Someone’s got some serious issues!

According to TMZ, Mel Gibson offered Oksana Grigorieva $15 million to keep the now-infamous tapes secret, but Oksana ultimately walked away from the deal.

During the child custody mediation in May, lawyers for both parties worked out a financial deal for Oksana, in which she would get a whopping $15 million, which would include child support, a house and other assets.

Sources tell TMZ that Oksana promised to keep the “evidence” confidential in return for the $15 million deal. Some of the tapes that Oksana had made were played for Mel’s lawyers. As one source put it, “The tapes loomed large in the mediation. The word ‘tapes’ was never used in the agreement, but it was central to the deal.”

Oksana and Mel both signed a “short form agreement” — a bare-bones contract outlining the broad strokes of the deal. The lawyers then drafted a long form agreement which contained specifics of the deal, but we’re told Oksana refused to sign the long form, claiming she felt coerced.

We’re told Mel never paid Oksana under the deal because the short form didn’t spell out the specifics of payment and Oksana refused to sign the longer agreement which contained the details.

Mel Gibson’s wife of 28 years Robyn Gibson comes to the famous actor’s defense against Oksana Grigorieva’s abuse Allegations. In a one-page declaration she makes a statement about the way she and her 7 kids were treated by Mel during their time together.

“Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage,” the website states.

During their 28 years of marriage (she filed for divorce last year), “Mel was a wonderful and loving father” to their seven children, she declares, according to TMZ.

Gibson is currently being investigated by dectectives about abuse claims made by ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. She claims he was abusive to both her and their 8 1/2 month-old daughter Lucia.

Well, Mel has one person on his side. He’s soon to be ex-wife Robyn. I wonder if he is wishing that he would have stayed with her.

Sources connected with the dentist who treated Oksana Grigorieva tell TMZ the dentist believes “100% the photo circulating on the Internet has been altered.”

Dr. Ross Shelden is saying, “The nose is not hers. The lips are not right. It’s not a true and accurate picture. It has definitely been altered.”

We’re also told the doctor says the teeth are in fact Oksana’s, reaffirming that the teeth are intact, but one veneer was damaged and one was broken.

We have specific information about the dentist’s observations … and they raise serious questions about the nature of Oksana’s alleged injury. We will be posting that story shortly.

A disturbing photo allegedly of Mel Gibson’s ex Oksana Grigorieva has hit the web.

RadarOnline reports the shot was taken after the Russian singer, 40, got into a heated fight with Gibson, 54, Jan. 6.

A source tells Radar that Grigorieva lost a veneer and her right front tooth was severely chipped during the fight, which allegedly occurred while she was holding their 8-1/2 month-old daughter Lucia.

According to Radar, Grigorieva has provided zero evidence to support her claim that Gibson caused the damage.

Interesting that the picture is released the same day that Mel accuses her of trying to extort $10 million from him.

What’s your take on this whole situation? I don’t think in any way – shape – or form – that she deserved what he did to her, but I don’t think she’s entirely innocent here either. Mel Gibson is f’d if you ask me, buuuuut I think Oksana knew what she was doing.

I don’t think she deserved what happened to her – I don’t think there are ANY excuses for violence. But I am saying that I also believe she was trying to extort money from him. I do think he snapped because she was trying to get over $10 million from him.

UPDATE: Did Oksana do this to herself? According to TMZ, the release of these pictures is raising eyebrows, and not for the reasons you might assume. When I saw the picture, first thing that I thought was it was very strange her lip wasn’t split – or bruised – nothing. Not a mark anywhere on her face. If you got hit in the face hard enough to break your veneers, wouldn’t there be some bruising or cuts on the mouth?

Sources connected with the Mel Gibson investigation say the photos and video of Oksana
Grigorieva’s alleged injuries are raising “serious questions” about her story that Gibson struck her.

Law enforcement sources who have analyzed the pictures and video — yes, we’ve learned she had video shot as well — tell TMZ there is “no evidence of external or internal damage,” making it inconsistent with being punched in the face.

As we have already reported, Oksana’s teeth were not damaged — they were intact. The dentist has submitted a sworn declaration saying one veneer was out and one was cut in half, but the teeth were not damaged.

Furthermore, several experts who have examined the photos and video say there is no evidence of any soft tissue damage, which would be present if someone were struck in the mouth, and it would be “highly irresponsible” for the dentist to so quickly replace Oksana’s veneers.

We’re told law enforcement is investigating the scenario that the damage to the veneers could have been self-inflicted. We’re told at least one expert who has evaluated the photos and video believes it’s a self-inflicted injury.

As we first reported, Gibson’s lawyers will make a presentation to the Sheriff’s Department … in part arguing that Oksana made false statements to authorities.
