Oksana Grigorieva is finally talking about the battle between her and actor Mel Gibson.

She discusses the horrifying audio tapes, her daughter Lucia, and the abuse allegations she has made against Mel Gibson.

“I’m devastated. Everybody’s devastated,” Grigorieva, 40, tells Radaronline in her first extended interview since the scandal broke a few weeks ago.

“It is unfair that by standing up to somebody — and speaking out — I am being victimized all over again. He has hurt so many people.”

Finally, she explains why she chose to tape the shocking, obscenity-laced phone calls and voicemails from Gibson that have stormed the web.

“Because I didn’t think I was going to make it through the night,” she explains.

She adds that all of that disturbing audio was recorded during one night.

“Everything, by the way, this is really important, all the tapes that you hear on the Internet, all of them were recorded that one night…The tapes, as you call them, the voicemails, everything was recorded that night because I was in fear for my life.”

“I really did not think I was going to make it.”

She also says that Mel’s claim that she tried to extort him are totally false and that it is merely a smear campaign.

Oksana Grigorieva wrote an email to one her lawyers detailing an abusive encounter with her ex actor Mel Gibson. She sent this email just hours after the incident. She claims Mel punched her in the head twice while she was holding their two-month-old daughter Lucia.

Here are some excerpts from her email.

“He hit me in the face with a fist and broke two of my front teeth, as well as he was choking me with his elbow and squishing my face down with the palm of his hand,” Oksana wrote her lawyer shortly after midnight January 7.

“He went completely violent while I was holding our two month old baby crying in my arms,” she wrote to the lawyer.

“He yelled so loudly in my face for 15 minutes at least. I was trying to run away outside, begging him to stop.”

“He yelled even louder and kept spitting in my face,” she wrote to her lawyer, according a source familiar with the investigation.

“Then he kicked us out yelling and screaming.”

“I’m asking for your help. I don’t know what to do right now. The scariest thing is the safety of my children,” she wrote.

“He also threatened to take Lucia away from me, because he can. Because he has money!

“I’m not sure what to do. He is a father to my Lucy. But I have forgiven so much that he probably thinks I’ll just take it.”

“I’m lost.”

Oksana claims that the incident was prompted when Mel was trying to quit his addiction to cigarettes.

“When that happens, he turns into an ax murderer, as he calls it himself,” she said.

She then detailed how she was at a basketball game and Mel scared the babysitter.

She called him a “psycho” and described how she asked him not to make so much noise.

But Mel began screaming and Oksana wrote: “He is seriously scaring both of my children, especially Lucia.”

Mel is being investigated by the LA County Sheriff’s Department on charges of child abuse and domestic violence. They are also investigating Oksana on Mel’s charges that she was extorting him.

Well, it was only a matter of time before the pictures of a bruised Oksana hit the web. RadarOnline.com has released the photos on their website (of course) and you can see them here. Here’s the latest with Mel: According to TMZ, Mel was officially interviewed by L.A. detectives on Sunday in connection with his criminal complaint that Oksana tried to extort money from him. The meeting was apparently quite “lengthy” and Mel turned over what he said is physical evidence of the extortion.  Mel apparently didn’t talk about the criminal complaint that Oksana filed against him. That was one of the ground rules set by Mel’s attorney.

TMZ is also reporting that alcohol DID NOT play a factor in the infamous fight, as many have implied. According to sources, Mel hasn’t touched a drop of alcohol since his DUI bust in 2006.

Not that alcohol is an excuse, but at least it would be something. If he talked to her like that when he was stone-cold sober, it makes even that much more creepy!!

Mel Gibson’s camp ofter has sited his outrageous behave as a result of quitting smoking. Hmmmmm…. I’ve been around people who quit smoking before and have never seen a reaction like this! He must been having some serious withdrawals!

Oksana Grigorieva is not going down without a fight. In a video on E! Online, Oksana says exactly how she feels about Mel Gibson.

“Mel is a liar!” she said matter-of-factly. “He’s lying. There’s no extortion and there’s no texts, and no emails, OK? And I’m fighting for my child and he’s just a liar, and it will come up in the court, just wait.”

Asked about the claims made yesterday by the Hollywood Reporter that her sibling is under investigation for allegedly leaking the volatile conversations to RadarOnline, Grigorieva was blunt.

“She doesn’t have them, she erased them a long time ago,” she insisted while paying a stop to her attorney Marci Levine’s office.

The battle continues and it looks like it is only going to get uglier. It’s too bad these two couldn’t resolve their issue amicably.

So much happens everyday on the fight between Mel Gibson and ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. I’ll update you here on the latest!

* TMZ is reporting that the reason why Mel Gibson flew off the handle during the now-famous January 6th fight is because he had quit smoking that day. According to Oksana, Mel had tried to quit smoking unsuccessfully once a month and that he had tried again on the 6th. What made Mel snap was he accused Oksana of hanging out with her son’s father at a basketball game.

*According to RadarOnline, Oksana suffered a concussion as a result of the fight. One day after the fight, Oksana sought help from her dentist. The dentist took pictures, and noted that she had suffered a punch in the face. Two days after the fight, Oksana was complaining of headaches, and sought medical help from a her doctor. Her doctor diagnosed her with a concussion “as a result of the punches to her face”.  She told her doctor that her eyes were not tracking properly, and he ordered x-rays. She was then diagnosed with a concussion.

*Oksana is being investigated for extortion. Steve Whitmore tells TMZ, “Extortion allegations have been brought to our attention and we are certainly going to be looking at that.” Sources connected with Gibson have told TMZ they have “hard proof” of extortion. Sources say deputies will also be investigating the allegations that Oksana made false claims.

UPDATE: According to the Hollywood Reporter, Mel Gibson also has text message evidence. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that after the disturbing Mel Gibson audiotapes became public this month, Oksana Grigorieva wrote Gibson a text message explaining why she had surreptitiously recorded their conversations. According to a source familiar with the case, Grigorieva wrote that the reason she recorded him was because “you broke your agreement with me.” The source said there are additional e-mails that likely will be used by Gibson’s attorneys to prove that Grigorieva attempted to use the tapes to extort money from Gibson. The source added that Gibson’s ex-girlfriend also was upset about the breakup and looking to reconcile.

*LATEST: A key part of the criminal investigation against Mel Gibson is a text message he sent Oksana the day after the incident. According to RadarOnline.com Mel sent Oksana a text message the following day which read: “Oksana, I wasn’t safe for you last night.” He followed that text with this one: “I spent two hours with a therapist today and have regained some perspective. What I’m telling you know is I am safe & would like to come by and make amends to you, Sascha and Lucia. I won’t stay, just let you say your peace and I’ll say mine.”
