Oh Good, Mel Gibson Has A “Passion Of The Christ” Sequel

Mel Gibson Out And About In Malibu

Mel Gibson knows EXACTLY what we need.

Another uber religious, long movie about what Mel loves: gratuitous religion and violence. The actor (can we even call him that anymore?) and writer Randall Wallace are working on a sequel to The Passion of the Christ that will tell the story of the resurrection of Jesus, Wallace tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Now, Randall Wallace got an Oscar for Braveheart, but he’s now working on cheesy religious entertainment, so there you go. Dude needs work, and Mel’s the man to give it to him:

Wallace, who most recently directed and co-wrote the 2014 faith-based drama Heaven Is for Real, says he and Gibson began to get serious about a sequel to The Passion, the most successful independent film of all time, while making Hacksaw Ridge, which Gibson directed and Wallace co-wrote. Hacksaw Ridge opens in November and centers on World War II Army medic Desmond Doss, the first conscientious objector to be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Wallace was a religion major at Duke University and says the resurrection was a specialty of his. “I always wanted to tell this story,” he says. “The Passion is the beginning and there’s a lot more story to tell.”

A rep for Gibson declined to comment on the filmmaker-actor’s involvement in a Passion sequel.

The Passion, Gibson’s story of the persecution and crucifixion of Jesus, was released in 2004 by the independent Newmarket Films and earned a whopping $612 million worldwide on a $30 million production budget. Since then, many in Hollywood have presumed a sequel would someday be made, but Gibson has moved on to other projects.

Rumors swirled anew last month when Gibson was a surprise guest at Liberty University’s graduation ceremony to do an advance screening of Hacksaw Ridge and was asked about a Passion follow-up. He expressed interest in making a sequel but was not specific about his involvement. Wallace says demand in the Christian community influenced his and Gibson’s willingness to do another film.

“The evangelical community considers The Passion the biggest movie ever out of Hollywood, and they kept telling us that they think a sequel will be even bigger,” Wallace says.

No studio or financial backing has been lined up for the project, which is still in the early script stage. But Wallace indicates there are several financiers interested in investing. “It’s too early to talk money,” he adds. “This is such a huge and sacred subject.”

Ooof, I’m sure SOMEBODY wants to pay for this, somewhere. I just know it’s probably not going to be a major American studio, or investors who are, uh, how do I put this? In touch with what the consumer wants. But with Mel, there’s a way.

Oh Good, Mel Gibson Got His 24 Year Old Girlfriend Pregnant

Mel Gibson may already have eight kids from previous relationships, but if this story is legit, he’s gonna have a couple more…

Gibson, 59, has been dating 24-year-old equestrian turned screenwriter Rosalind Ross since July, and now it seems that she might bepregnant with Gibson’s child?! WTF. It’s called birth control y’all.  Speaking to reporters, a source divulged that Ross’ behavior has changed recently:

“Rosey suddenly gave up drinking about a month ago. And while she won’t admit she’s pregnant, she’s not denying it either.”

And she’s always been into motherhood:

“[Rosey’s] always said that she wanted to be a young mum and have three or four children.”

Obviously, this might just be a rumor. But he already has 8 kids, so who knows.  Do you think this 24 year old is gonna have one of Gibson’s kids?!

Mel Gibson Went Crazy Again

Good to know Mel Gibson is still friggin’ GROSS.

Kristi Miller, a photographer trying to get a pic of Mel and his 24 year old girlfriend Rosalind Ross while they crossed the street, was subjected to a tirade of profanity that only ended when the Oscar-winning actor’s gf intervened.  Yeah, so good to know Mel is still the biggest D bag on the planet. The Telegraph reports:

“I thought he was going to punch me in the face,” Miller said.

“He was spitting in my face as he was yelling at me, calling me a dog, saying I’m not even a human being and I will go to hell. He swore and called me a c**t. It was non-stop, he didn’t even breathe.”

Superintendent Tony Crandell said: “We will be looking for CCTV footage. At some stage we would request to interview Mr Gibson’s partner who appears to be a witness.”

Gibson accused Miller, 39, of “invading” his space and “disrespecting” him by taking the photograph.

“I took a photo of Mel and his girlfriend and when I turned around he shoved my back really hard,” Miller explained. “It shocked me because I wasn’t expecting it. I don’t know if it was his hands or elbow.”

Miller was shaken by the altercation outside Palace Verona Cinema on busy Oxford St, Paddington, and said she feared she would be pushed on to the road. Gibson, 59, held his clenched fist and stood over her with onlookers later stepping in to see if she was OK.

Ross,, 24, a champion US equestrian vaulter, was by his side and was overheard apologising. “He was backing me on to the road,” Miller said.

“It was only when (Ross) grabbed his shoulder and said, ‘that is enough’ that he stopped. She said, ‘I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry’. They turned and crossed the road and walked off.”

Good to know that the C word isn’t going out of usage thanks to Mel.  Man…this dude has some ISSUES.  Police are involved, but still. If I was a paparazzo I would NOT want to take any gigs involving Mel Gibson or his horse girlfriend.

How would you have handled this altercation?

More Bad News for Shia LaBeouf

PICS: Shia LaBeouf runs errands after an AA meeting

Fury star, Shia LaBeouf, has been publicly battling demons the past couple of years, and now the poor kid has Lethal Weapon star and inventor of the mullet, Mel Gibson of all people sympathizing with him.  I guess you know you’re in trouble when you have Gibson in your camp.

‘When I see someone like Shia LaBeouf with the bag on his head and stuff, my heart goes out to the poor guy,’ Gibson told Indiewire following his acceptance of a lifetime achievement award at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in the Czech Republic this weekend.

‘I think he’s suffering in some way,’ he added, referring to Shia’s appearance at the premiere of Nymphomaniac back in February, where he arrived on the red carpet with a paper bag over his head complete with the slogan ‘I Am Not Famous Anymore.’

He has since been reportedly attending AA meetings.

‘Why (else) would he do that?’ Gibson continued. ‘People are in line to sort of point the finger at him and say that he’s this, that, or the other. It’s easy to judge.

‘But I’m sure he’s going through some kind of personal, very painful, cathartic thing that he has to exorcise and get out there. And he’ll probably play it out and come back…He’ll be all right. I actually like the kid. I think he’s good.’

The Lethal Weapon star also appeared to sympathise with the high public interest in Shia’s behaviour.

‘You’re a target,’ he declared. ‘And you have to be really adept at tap dancing and dodging the bullets. And sometimes you get hit.’

Gibson makes a fair point, and I do think that LaBeouf is clearly going through some sort of a crisis right now.  Mel has had his own fair share of destructive behavior including a DUI and anti-Semitic rant in 2006, a high-profile divorce from his wife Robyn Gibson in 2009, and a confusing relationship with a Russian pianist, Oksana Grigorieva, with whom he fathered a little girl with. Their relationship ended and Gibson was later served a restraining order due to domestic violence accusations.  So… Shia… maybe steer clear.
