Hunky actor Matthew McConaughey turned bright red when asked by Kate Hudson what the weirdest thing a fan has asked him to autograph.

They both appeared on MTV’s Total Request Live to promote their new film, Fool’s Gold.

Turning red, Mcconaughey replied: “Panties . . . the ones she had on at the time.”

He added: “That doesn’t seem that strange but check this – this is where it gets weird – she had her kids with her at the time man! I was like ‘Get out of here!’ It’s a true story.”

Kate Hudson has said that she could never date Matthew McConaughey, and their love scenes in their new movie proved it.

She said that their raunchy love scenes in the movie just made her laugh. Despite rumors of a romance, she said there’s no chance of her getting together with her close friend Matthew McConaughey.

She says, “The fact that I couldn’t stop laughing was a bad sign. He was making (grunting) sounds that I never heard of. No, Matthew and I wouldn’t work.”

And the divorced mother of one added she “has no desire” to date anyone in the near future.

The actress said shooting her new film Fool’s Gold following her split with husband of seven years Chris Robinson was “a difficult time”.

But going to Australia for the five-month shoot was “”probably the best thing I could have done, because there was just so much going on.” It was definitely a good thing for her to keep her mind on other things and with the filming of her movie, she had no time to think of things that were weighing on her mind.

“It was good for all of us to be in a different place,” she added.

Like her character in the film, who can’t get her ex-husband – played by McConaughey – out of her mind, she has remained close to Robinson.

“For me, the love changes form,” said the 28-year-old. “I have to remove myself for a little bit and ask for time with no contact.”

After a few months, the rocker was visiting her on the set with their son Ryder.

The prospect of dating anyone at all is completely unappealing to her, she said. “I have no desire,” she said. “If I go out, it’s like once a month, and I end up in a tabloid with somebody lying about me. It’s not fun, and it’s not worth it.”

I think they would make a cute couple. I would say to Kate: Go out and get you a man whenever you’re ready. Everyone deserves happiness. But if being alone is what makes her happy, then more power to her.

Kate Hudson said of Matthew McConaughey, “I think he will be an incredible dad. I think because people see Matthew always out doing something whether it’s out dancing in a bar or being on the beach or taking a hike with some crazy bandana on, I think that, like anything, they take their image and what they want somebody else to be and then they just run with that.”

The often shirtless, beach wanderer made note that the apple won’t fall far from the tree: “Make no doubt about it. My kids will dance. He will be on the beach and he will be taking hikes with a wild bandana on.”

And despite tabloid coverage of 38-year-old McConaughey’s behavior, Hudson is confident the actor, who announced girlfriend Camila Alves, who turned 25 Monday, is pregnant in January, will be a great family man.

“Matthew happens to be one of the most loving and loyal people I know and his family is important to him,” said Hudson, who has a 4-year-old son, Ryder, of her own. “He’s great with kids and I think he’ll be a very responsible and absolute blast of a dad.”

But will the little one have all the right moves like papa? Said McConaughey: “He might not dance like I do. Regardless, he or she is still going to have a little rhythm.”

The daddy-to-be was all smiles when discussing the baby he and girlfriend, model Camilla Alves, are expecting this summer, “It’s not a science, but I think I’ve got the instincts for it. I’m looking forward to the big adventure!”

McConaughey tells ET that his friends and family have already been offering advice, “One thing I’ve heard that’s consistent is, ‘whatever plans you make, throw them out the window!’”

He also reveals that the couple will not learn the sex of the baby, “We want to keep the suspense as high as possible!”
