Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are abandoning their New York home in a bid to escape the paparazzi, according to reports.

The couple is sick of being spied on in their west village pad, complaining snappers have even moved into neighboring apartments so they can watch them around the clock.

Parker recently claimed, “Photographers moved into apartments next door to us and we really found ourselves kind of living like a spy movie… I feel like they think they have to be there. Like they punch in or something.”

According to New York magazine, the pair has been looking at a $17.8 million home in the hip and more private east village – a property comprising of two houses that have been joined together, which boasts a huge back yard and 18 fireplaces.

If they make the move, the couple would join model Agyness Deyn, actors Colin Farrell and Alan Cumming, who also have homes in the neighborhood.

Star reports that while the beloved actress was frantically searching for hubby Matthew Broderick one night earlier this year, he was having sex in the city with a gorgeous redhead half his age, the young woman told a friend.

After meeting in a bar, Matthew began text messaging the 25-year-old youth counselor, says the woman’s pal. Soon after, the insider claims, they began seeing each other and things got passionate quickly when they met at the Manhattan townhouse of a showbiz friend.

The friend found her passed out on the bed in her panties.”

Matthew Broderick admits that he and wife Sarah Jessica Parker (aka “Carrie Bradshaw”) still smoke – and he predicts it will rub off on their 5-year-old son, James
Wilkie.

“[He's] already curious,” Broderick told New York.

“I can just see the little budding gene of a smoker in there,” Broderick said. “He’ll see a cigarette butt and say, ‘What is that? Why do people smoke?’”

As for his own smoking habit, Broderick revealed: “I used to smoke cigarettes, and I still do, lately. I gave that up a long time ago, but every now and then I will fall off for a week.”

Sex and the City star Parker is “worse than me on that,” Broderick added.

Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker have been banned from using the word `fat’ at home – by their politically correct young son.

Little James Wilkie insists the word upsets him more than any expletive.

Broderick explains, “You’re not even supposed to call people fat according to him. I guess that’s nice because it isn’t a very nice word and he’s very sensitive about it.”
