Heath Ledger and Mary-Kate Olsen were dating, sources tell the New York Post and New York’s Daily News.

As reported, a masseuse who arrived at Ledger’s apartment Tuesday first called Olsen before 911 when she discovered the actor’s body.

Olsen’s number was programmed into Ledger’s phone, the Post claims.

According to the Daily News, Olsen’s bodyguard later confirmed to police that two were dating (though her rep says they’re just friends). The Post quotes a police source as saying the two had a “mutual relationship.”

According to a law enforcement official who spoke to the Post, the masseuse called Olsen first because “she didn’t want a media circus.” The Daily News reports that the masseuse called Olsen “for guidance.”

Olsen told the masseuse she would send her security guards to the downtown Manhattan apartment.

After the masseuse tried to rouse Ledger, she discovered that his body was cold, the Post reports, so she called Olsen again. “I think he’s dead,” she said.

Olsen replied, “I already have people coming over.”

The masseuse then told Olsen she was calling 911.

Fur-donning celebs that include Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen best be wary of taking Park City by foot–PETA have descended on the Sundance Film Festival.

A line of protestors from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals formed in front of Alaskan Fur Gallery on Main Street around 4:15 p.m., disrupting pedestrian traffic and chanting loudly.

“You must, you must, you must understand! Their blood, their blood, their blood is on your hands!” the group screamed on the bustling street, where several times Mary Kate was spotted walking, as well as Sir Ben Kingsley making the rounds in a leather snow cap and a shearling-lined coat.

Further up the street, a whole different commotion was caused by rapper 50 Cent. Fiddy was on hand to announce the launch of his new film production company with partner Randall Emmett at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at House of Hype.

The rapper’s security team shut down the venue allowing no re-entry or back door access once the star was in the building. Doubly dramatic was his exit.

With entourage in tow, 50 commanded so much attention that a promotion van for a film called Fix crashed into oncoming traffic due to rubbernecking.

No word on whether the protestors will pop up at any of tonight’s events, including the Entertainment Weekly bash, Motorola and Nintendo’s Late Night Lounge and Stereo’s Reaction Lounge.

50 is scheduled to return to the Hard Rock for a club night by Body English.

In a new ad campaign to be unveiled today at the Olsens’ Walk of Fame star on Hollywood Boulevard, PETA blasts the 21-year-old star sibs — whom they dub the “Trollsen Twins — for wearing fur and including it in their collections Elizabeth and James and The Row.”Thin-twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are about to get some publicity that will have them running away faster than if they’d spotted a calorie,” the group said in a snarky statement today.

The new ad features the twins under the headline “Fur Is Worn by Beautiful Animals and Ugly People.”

To coincide with the ad, PETA has also launched a new web site devoted to “Hairy-Kate” and “Trashley.”

It features, among other things, a mash-up video called “Full House of Horrors,” in which footage from the twins’ former hit TV show is interspersed with – you guessed it – scenes of animals being killed for fur.

“No one would argue that Mary-Kate and Ashley could use some meat on their bones, but the last thing they need is hair on their backs,” PETA’s Assistant Director of Youth Campaigns Dan Shannon said in a statement.

Glad to see Mary-Kate Olsen out & about after being hospitalized with a kidney infection last week. Happy recovery! Recently, MK was on the cover of NYLON- beautiful. Here are a few excerpts:

Mary-Kate Olsen has been hospitalized with a kidney infection, her rep tells PEOPLE.

The actress entered the emergency room of a New York hospital on Monday.

“Mary Kate got a kidney infection,” says rep Nicole Caruso. “She’s resting comfortably and will be released in the next day or so.”

The actress, who turned 21 in June, recently said she was in good health.

“Mentally, physically, I feel pretty on top of my game right now,” she told EW.com in September, as she prepared for her debut in Showtime’s Weeds. “Talk to me next week, I don’t know. Today, I feel good.”

Mary Kate Olsen has been dating hockey player Sean Avery but it seems that Mary Kate isn’t the only girl Sean Avery is dating. The New York Post reports:

“Spies said New York Ranger Sean Avery, who was introduced to Mary Kate by a mutual pal, Bungalow 8 owner Amy Sacco, has a straying eye and, behind Mary-Kate’s back, has been seeing his ex- flame, Lake Bell, as well. Avery is not known for his gentlemanly ways; after his split from Elisha Cuthbert, he went around telling everyone he dumped the actress, not the other way around. ”

No word on whether Mary Kate has heard about this and what she plans on doing.
