Bob Saget says some of his comic friends went too far by hurling crude jokes and sexual references at Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen during his “roast” Sunday night.

“Anybody who talks about my TV kids – that upsets me the most,” Saget told The Post. “I am very protective. I love them very, very much.”

The roast of Saget, who starred on ABC’s “Full House” with the Olsen twins for eight years, will air Aug. 17 on Comedy Central.

John Stamos, Saget’s former “Full House” co-star, emceed – and took the first swipe at the 22-year-old moguls.

“The whole time Bob and I were doing ‘Full House,’ he was also hosting ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos,’ ” he said. “His entire job consisted of saying ‘Take a look at this’ which is what he used to say to Mary Kate in her dressing room.”

Afterward, Stamos said he has no idea how the Olsen sisters will react.

“I truthfully don’t know where their sense of humor lies these days,” he said. “I thought some of [the roast] was a little over the top.

“They’re still my friends,” he said of Mary-Kate and Ashley. ” I think [the comics] crossed the line a few times.”

Not that Gilbert Gottfried – who suggested in his routine that Saget seduced his TV kids with chocolate milkshakes – seemed to care.

“If you are an Olsen girl, you deserve it,” he said.

“They’re going to just have to go home and cry in their billions of dollars.”

Mary-Kate Olsen knows nothing about the drugs which killed her friend Heath Ledger, her lawyer insists.

Reports on Monday suggested officials behind a federal probe into Ledger’s January death from an accidental overdose were targetting Olsen – but she was refusing to co-operate until she was guaranteed immunity from prosecution.

Her name was dragged into the case because the masseuse who found Ledger dead called Olsen before contacting the emergency services, prompting suspicions.

The 22-year-old actress’ lawyer Michael C. Miller now tells Usmagazine.com that Olsen has provided the Drug Enforcement Administration with all the information she has on her late pal.

Miller says, “Regarding the Government’s investigation, at Ms. Olsen’s request, we have provided the Government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger’s death and the fact that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed.”

Miller also blasted reports that Olsen faces a Grand Jury subpoena if she refuses to co-operate, adding, “We don’t know the source of the information being quoted in the media regarding the Government’s inquiry, but these descriptions are incomplete and inaccurate.”

Mary-Kate Olsen has reportedly refused to be interviewed over the accidental drug death of her close friend Heath Ledger – unless she receives immunity from prosecution.

Federal agents are keen to speak to Olsen – who was romantically linked to the tragic actor at the time of his death in January – because she was the first person called after her masseuse discovered Ledger’s body in his New York apartment.

According to the New York Post, Olsen “has refused to speak” and her lawyer, Michael Miller, reportedly claims she won’t be interviewed “unless she gets immunity, exercising her constitutional rights”.

Miller tells the publication, “We are not going to comment on whether there is a criminal investigation.”

Mary-Kate Olsen is caught up in a financial battle with her former landlord, who accuses the actress of trashing the Hollywood pad she rented from him.

The 22 year old allegedly broke an agreement to refit the $15,000-a-month house near Sunset Boulevard before she moved out in April, after customising the kitchen to suit her needs.

She is also accused of flooding a garden pond.

The landlord is refusing to return a $30,000 security deposit and is seeking more money to cover the cost of the work he had to carry out after the Olsen twin moved out.

But Olsen’s lawyer, Marty Singer, tells TMZ.com the star was given permission to renovate the kitchen – and he claims the landlord stepped in before she had the chance to remodel it.

Olsen is fighting for the return of her security deposit.

Britney Spears’ acclaimed stint on U.S. sitcom How I Met Your Mother hasn’t earned her an Emmy nod – she and Mary-Kate Olsen’s guest TV spots won’t be among those competing for gold.

Both stars have been left off the top 10 list of Emmy semifinalists in the Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series category.

Instead, Sarah Silverman is a favorite for her part as an obsessed stalker in Monk, alongside Oscar nominee Amy Ryan for her star turn in The Office.

Others on the list include Carrie Fisher and Edie Falco for 30 Rock, and Polly Bergen and Shirley Knight for Desperate Housewives guest spots.

The awards will be handed out on September 6th.

Spencer Pratt has apologized to Mary-Kate Olsen for calling her the “less cute (Olsen) twin,” after she joked about his bad temper during a late-night TV appearance.

Olsen upset The Hills star when she recalled high school memories of Pratt during a recent appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, revealing he was a star soccer player who often flew into a rage on the pitch.

Pratt immediately proved her right by attacking Olsen in the media.

But now he admits he let his emotions get the better of him: “I apologize for getting caught up in trash talking, but she brought up an emotional subject when she mentioned the soccer stuff.”

Pratt tells Us Weekly magazine he has nothing but the utmost respect for his old school pal: “I’m secretly jealous of her. I want my face on a lunchbox, too.”

Mary-Kate Olsen has opened up about her on-screen smooch with 64-year-old Ben Kingsley in The Wackness.

“We shot it at three o’clock in the morning and so everyone was a bit delirious anyhow,” Olsen, 22, told the Wall Street Journal of the lip-lock that takes place in a phone booth.

“He was so professional about it and made me feel so comfortable,” Olsen revealed. “He said, ‘Anything you don’t feel comfortable about, let me know. You lead me.’ ”

Olsen didn’t have quite such complimentary words for Hills star Spencer Pratt.

While promoting her indie film she told David Letterman that Pratt played soccer at her high school and “he does not have a good temper. He would walk off the field.”

“I forgive her,” Pratt told Usmagazine.com. “She’s had to go through life as the less cute twin, which must be tough.”

When asked about their biggest physical differences, Mary-Kate told the Wall Street Journal, “Our eyes are different. Ashley’s are rounder and mine are cat-eyed.”
