The death of Mark Ruffalo’s younger brother has been ruled a homicide, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office said on Wednesday.

Coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey told The Associated Press that an autopsy determined that someone shot Scott M. Ruffalo, 39, in the head.

He was found with a gunshot wound on Dec. 1; he died a week later after being released from life support.

Beverly Hills police arrested 26-year-old Shaha Mishaal Adham — one of Scott’s pals — after issuing an attempted murder warrant. She was later cleared after telling police she merely witnessed him playing a game of Russian Roulette.

Adham’s attorney, Ronald Richards, disputed the coroner’s claim.

“The only two eye witnesses to the shooting saw the same thing, a gunshot wound to the left side of the head, while one of them saw him pull the trigger,” Richards said in an e-mail to The AP. “They saw the gun in his left hand after the shot was fired.”

He said no gun residue had been found on Adham’s clothes and that police had not requested another meeting with her.

Police do not have any suspects in custody, nor do they have a motive for the shooting.

After his brother’s death, Mark Ruffalo released the following statement: “Mark Ruffalo and his family deeply appreciate the outpouring of prayers and support during this most difficult time of the passing of Scott Ruffalo, beloved son, brother and husband.”

Mark Ruffalo – who’s still reeling from this week’s tragic death of his brother, Scott – has dropped out of the indie drama Greenburg, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

He will likely be replaced by Ben Stiller in the film, written and directed by Noah Baumbach, says the trade paper.

No reason was given for the casting shakeup. But the news comes just three days after Scott Ruffalo succumbed to a gunshot wound he sustained Dec. 1.

In a statement after the death, Mark Ruffalo said that he and his family “deeply appreciate the outpouring of prayers and support during this most difficult time.”

TMZ has confirmed the suspect in the shooting death of Mark Ruffalo’s brother has told police Scott Ruffalo died during a game of Russian Roulette.

Shaha Mishaal Adham, who turned herself in yesterday to Bev Hills Police, said she went to Ruffalo’s apartment to pick up her Land Rover, which he had borrowed.

There was a mystery person also present (NOT Brian Scofield, the man who was named a “person of interest’ in the case) during the deadly game.

After Ruffalo reportedly shot himself in the head, Adham bolted and called her boyfriend, Brian Scofield, who called 911.

Shaha Mishaal Adham has been released by the Beverly Hills PD and cleared of any wrongdoing in the death of Scott Ruffalo.

Shaha Mishaal Adham, a suspect in the attempted murder of hairdresser Scott Ruffalo – who is the brother of actor Mark Ruffalo – is in police custody, PEOPLE has 
confirmed.

Adham, 26, turned herself in to Beverly Hills police on Monday. Police issued an attempted murder warrant for her arrest earlier on Monday. Adham is being held without bail.

Adham’s friend Brian Burton Scofield, 29, who is “a person of interest” in
 the case, also arrived at the police station with Adham. He was booked for a misdemeanor traffic warrant for past
 violations.

Scott Ruffalo, 39, was shot in the head on Dec. 1 at the condo where he lives on North Palm Drive in Beverly Hills.

A well-known hairdresser who worked in salons such as Kenneth George in 
Santa Monica and Giuseppe Franco in Beverly Hills, Ruffalo has had run-ins
 with the law in the past. In 2002, he was convicted for possession of a
 controled substance with intent to sell.

He is currently at a Los Angeles hospital where he is reportedly in critical 
condition.

Beverly Hills police are searching for two “persons of interest” – a man and a woman – in the shooting of Scott Ruffalo, the hairstylist brother of actor Mark Ruffalo.

The pair, identified as Brian Scofield and Shaha Mishaal Adham (photos below), are both wanted for questioning in the attempted murder, police announced Thursday.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Monday, Beverly Hills police responded to assist a person who fell on North Palm Drive, outside the condo where Scott Ruffalo lived.

Officers discovered that the victim, Ruffalo, 39, had been shot in the head.

According to sources, Ruffalo is in very serious condition at a Los Angeles hospital, where he has been regularly visited by his brother Mark.

Actor Mark Ruffalo’s younger brother Scott was gunned down at his home in an execution-style attack, according to new reports.

Scott Ruffalo, 39, was reportedly found with a gunshot wound to the back of the head on Monday (01Dec08) and remains in a critical condition in intensive care at a Los Angeles-area hospital.

According to the New York Post, hairdresser Ruffalo was at his condo in a middle-class Los Angeles neighbourhood when the shooting took place at 1.30am.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Tony Lee tells the New York Daily News there was “suspicious activity” at the location.

He adds, “If there was a shooting, our detectives would investigate whether it was homicidal, accidental or suicidal. We haven’t pinpointed anything yet.”

Mark Ruffalo’s spokesperson Jessica Kolstad said the actor is with his brother, adding, “I don’t have any further comment because there is an ongoing police investigation.”

Scott Ruffalo is married to fellow hairdresser, Luzelena Ruffalo, and is stepdad to her daughter, Lucinda.
