Rumours of Michael Scofield’s death have been greatly exaggerated.
OK, maybe not that exaggerated – Wentworth Miller’s character from Prison Break definitely did kick the bucket in the show’s series finale earlier this year. But the hunky actor with the thousand-yard stare has risen again, nabbing a high-profile guest spot on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
TV Guide reports that 37-year-old Miller will appear on the upcoming season premiere of SVU, playing an NYPD cop named Nate Kendal who helps save a rape victim the SVU detectives are trying to protect. Miller will be acting opposite longtime SVU stars Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay, who are returning to the cop drama after some long and heated salary negotiations.

Mariska Hargitay is back in the hospital, her rep confirms to Usmagazine.com.
“Mariska Hargitay went to the hospital this morning after experiencing some discomfort relating to her earlier lung condition,” her rep told Usmagazine.com Wednesday. “She is undergoing routine tests and expects to be feeling better soon.”
This is the third time Hargitay has been hospitalized for a collapsed lung since December.
Hargitay had been sidelined over the holidays and then again on Jan. 12 with a pneumothorax — the medical term for the condition. The star of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit had returned to work at the end of January, two weeks after the incident, an NBC rep confirmed to Us. Her rep confirms to Us that “production will not be affected.”
Chris Meloni told Us in January that “she’s doing great.” Meloni, who co-stars with Hargitay on SVU, said that although filming halted in Hargitay’s absence, they planned to shoot the current season until May with her appearing in all episodes. “She got a little dinged up,” he said. “And everyone just thought, ‘better safe than sorry.’”
Hargitay received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Detective Olivia Benson, but did not attend this year’s ceremony.

Mariska Hargitay is on the mend after suffering a pneumothorax—aka a partially collapsed lung—but will not miss out on any episodes of Law & Order: SVU this season, according to the Emmy-winning actress’ rep.
It’s unclear if some sort of trauma prompted the injury or if Hargitay suffered a spontaneous pneumothorax, which can occur if more air pressure builds up in a person’s chest cavity than is present in the lungs.
Hargitay’s rep said, however, that the 44-year-old wife and mom was not injured on the job and was in fact on vacation from SVU, the highest-rated installment in the L&O family, when it happened.
She was nominated this year for a Golden Globe for best actress in a TV drama but did not attend last night’s ceremony. She won the honor in 2005.
Access Hollywood was first to report on Hargitay’s condition.

Mariska Hargitay and her husband, Peter Hermann, welcomed their first child, a son named August.
The baby boy, who was born on Wednesday at 3:21 p.m. in Los Angeles, was a week overdue and weighed in at 10 lbs. 9 oz.
“Mother and baby are doing wonderfully,” says Hargitay’s rep, Leslie Sloane. “I just talked to her and she is ecstatic – over the moon.”
