Mariah Carey thought twice before marrying R+B singer Nick Cannon – because of their 10-year age gap.
The 38-year-old pop star wed Cannon in the Bahamas in April (08) after a six-week whirlwind romance.
And the Touch My Body singer is convinced their love will be lasting, because her marriage to music mogul Tommy Mottola – 20 years her senior – was a “disaster”.
When asked if she had second thoughts before her nuptials with Cannon, Carey says, “You know what, I did. But he doesn’t act like it (younger) – he’s really very intelligent. He’s a very business-minded person, but he’s also a lot of fun so you don’t really think about those things. It is what it is.
“I’ve been with someone older and that could be a disaster or maybe you have to throw that side away and don’t think about it – think about who’s right for you.”
Carey and Mottola split in 1998 after five years of marriage.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon arrived at about 1am and shortly after Pure nightclub presented Nick with a birthday cake. Mariah partied the night away rocking out to Nick who dj’d all night while sipping on champagne. They look really happy together, congrats!

Is the honeymoon ever going to end for Mariah Carey, 39, and Nick Cannon, 27? The newlyweds spent three nights — at $6,000 a pop — at NYC’s Plaza hotel during Fashion Week.
“Mariah has a gorgeous apartment in Tribeca, but that didn’t stop her,” a pal of the singer tells Life & Style. “She treats herself to whatever she wants, including room service several times a day and champagne, chocolate and strawberries.”
And Nick’s not complaining. “He loves every minute of it,” adds the pal. “He’s living it up as much as she is!”
C’mon – be honest, how many of you thought they’d be divorced by now! (Had to admit, they’ve lasted longer than I thought they would!)

According to MariahDaily, Mariah Carey’s single releases for E=MC2 due to her only selling one million copies of the album.
The release of “Migrate” in 12″ Vinyl, reportedly slated for September 30th, has been cancelled, and no new Mariah vinyl singles will be forthcoming in the US, this according to an inquiry made to IDJ.
Maybe it’s time for her to get back in the studio?
