Mariah Carey is planning a spectacular new tour to promote her 2008 album E=MC2.
The newlywed is in talks to kick off the tour in the autumn, and she promises her roadshow will be packed with glitz, glamour and fireworks.
Carey tells MTV, “I like elaborate. We only do substantial. That’s what my jeweller says. I haven’t gotten the looks in mind just yet, but we’re going to figure it out soon enough. I’m looking at November right now. But please don’t hold me accountable if it turns out to be December 5 or December 7 or January 18!”

Newlywed Mariah Carey is set to follow in the footsteps of Celine Dion, Cher, and Elton John by headlining a spectacular Las Vegas residency.
Sources claim a $100 million three-year offer has been laid down by bosses of the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for the pop superstar to perform nightly.
An insider tells Star magazine, “Mariah is one of the most popular performers around. She could easily become the Queen of the Las Vegas strip.”
Meanwhile, Carey is to make her first public stage performance as Mrs. Nick Cannon outside the home of the Oscars.
The pop superstar will play a free 35-minute summer concert at the Hollywood + Highland shopping complex on July 31st.

Mariah Carey has hit out at the media over reports she is planning a $4 million wedding ceremony to celebrate her marriage to Nick Cannon.
The couple married quietly in the Bahamas in April and there have been rumors ever since that they are to host a lavish event in New York this summer to renew their vows in front of their friends and family.
Carey has since denied they will be hosting a bigger ceremony and has now criticised the press for spreading the stories.
She says, “It’s difficult, especially when legitimate press is saying, ‘They’re having a $4 million wedding.’ Why? What – did we set a budget? ‘It’s gonna be $4 million! It’s going to be really cool! We’re going to give away gold as people leave! We’re going to sprinkle them with gold! It’s going to be very Coming to America!’ What do they think? Our whole point (in having the unannounced beach wedding) was to do the opposite!”

Mariah Carey says before meeting husband Nick Cannon, she went through such low times that she dreamt of being “kidnapped” from her life.
“When I was in an unhappy place in my life … I always wanted to be kidnapped,” the singer tells Elle magazine. “I just wanted a way out, but I didn’t have one.”
Ten years after her split with ex-husband Tommy Mottola, Cannon stepped into her life – and whisked her up in a whirlwind romance.
“We really kept the whole relationship aspect of it quiet,” Carey says of their speedy courtship and top-secret nuptials. “We didn’t want to give people a chance to be like, ‘What are you doing? What are you talking about? This is so quick …. Are you sure?’ ”
Then, one night, while hanging out on the rooftop of her Manhattan apartment, Cannon popped the question with a 17-carat diamond hidden inside a candy ring pop. “They’ve been calling me Cinderella since I first started out,” she says of the fairytale-worthy proposal. “Most people would think, Okay, please! This doesn’t happen in real life.”
A few days later, Carey got her wish – a kidnapping – and a second proposal.
“He sort of kidnapped me and took me on a helicopter ride,” she says. “Then he re-proposed.”

Nick Cannon has laughed off rumors his marriage to Mariah Carey is on the rocks, insisting they couldn’t be happier.
The couple wed in the Bahamas in April after a whirlwind romance, but earlier this week internet gossips were already speculating about trouble in their relationship.
Reports alleged that Cannon was tiring of the R&B superstar’s demands, with one source telling OK! magazine, “He’s basically around to attend to her diva-ish ways.”
But Cannon has dismissed the claims.
He tells People.com, “Marriage is amazing. It’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”
