New dad Marc Anthony has left his newborn twins at home with their mother Jennifer Lopez for the first time, to attend a police foundation gala in New York.
The singer supported the NYPD and commissioner Ray Kelly at the event at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel on Tuesday, to return a favor.
He tells the New York Post, “I’m a life-long New Yorker. I’ve always worked for the NYPD and done fundraisers for fallen police officers. “Five years ago Ray Kelly helped me organize a Hispanic presentation.
So when he called last week and invited me - even though I’m a little busy with our babies - I came. This is my first time out of the house since the babies came.” Lopez gave birth to babies Max and Emme on February 22nd.

In the world of celebrity baby names – from Suri to Harlow, Maddox to Apple – Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s decision to name their newborn twins Max and Emme came as somewhat of a disappointment.
“Max and Emme are cute but, as starbaby choices go, highly unoriginal,” Pamela Redmond Satran, the author of baby-naming guides Cool Names and The Baby Name Bible, told Usmagazine.com.
“Christina Aguilera just used Max, which hasn’t been truly cool since the eighties,” Satran explains. “And Emme is an amalgam of Emily and Emma, the top two names in the country, which means that she’ll be in the same position [Jennifer] was always in, being one of several kids her age with the same name.”
Last month Satran even wrote a blog on the Huffington Post warning Lopez and Anthony to “rethink” Max and Emme and make an “inspired choice.”
On the plus side, Satran gives Lopez and Anthony points for meeting the challenge of naming twins. “Max and Emme do sound cute together,” she told Us. “They are compatible but distinctive – the perfect qualities for twin names!”
Perhaps Max and Emme show Lopez is still “Jenny from the block.”
“It’s refreshing when celebrities choose the kind of regular names that the rest of us choose and don’t reach so hard to come up with a Romeo or a Moxie Crimefighter,” says Satran.

Jennifer Lopez and her husband Marc Anthony have denied reports they’ve hired six new bodyguards at a cost of $600,000 to protect their newborn twins. Lopez gave birth to a boy and a girl in Long Island, New York on February 22nd. The twins were on Friday revealed to be called Max and Emme.
Newspaper the Chicago Sun-Times claimed the couple has employed six minders to guard the babies at an annual cost of $600,000 because Lopez is “paranoid about a possible kidnapping”.
However, the Latina’s representative says, “This story is ridiculous and without merit.”

Following in the footsteps of Nicole Richie and Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez called upon the experts at Hollywood favorite baby boutique Petit Tresor. The new mom opened a lengthy registry and had owners Nina and Sam help her design fabulous nurseries for the arrival of her twins!
So what’s in store for the twins? J.Lo will keep her new baby boy wrapped in a cashmere cardigan, hat and bootie pants from Baby Cz, $279 and, of course, a matching pink set, $279, for the new fashionista of the family. The two newest members of the Anthony-Lopez clan will also have a set of Plain Mary’s Hunk and Babe onesies, $169.
For the nursery, the twins will dream away in Chelsea Sleigh cribs, $1390 each while Mom and Dad relax in Glam Gliders $1,420 each. And when they need changing, the twins will have a Clara changing table, $1780. And why give up gorgeous handbags just because diapers are involved? Check out Jennifer’s Italian leather and snake skin trim Mia Bossi diaper bag, $1250.

Jennifer Lopez is back at home with her twins!
She was released from North Shore University Hospital on New York’s Long Island yesterday, her obstetrician, Dr. Anita Sadaty, told the New York Post.
The new mom, 38, gave birth to a 5-pound, 7-ounce girl and 6 pound boy early Friday morning. The tots were born 11 minutes apart.
Their names have not been released yet.
“Marc and Jennifer are ecstatic” Lopez’s rep told Usmagazine.com Friday. “Everyone is healthy and happy.”
The children are the fourth and fifth children for Marc Anthony, 39, who has three children from previous relationships. Anthony and Lopez have been married since June 2004.
Lopez, who has said earlier she “doesn’t know” if she’ll be a working mom, is signed on for the movie Love and Other Possible Pursuits, which begins shooting later this year, the Post reports.

It’s double the baby joy for Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony: They’re the proud new parents of twins, a boy and a girl, Lopez’s manager tells PEOPLE exclusively.
The babies were born early Friday in Long Island, N.Y. The girl was born at 12:12 a.m. and weighed 5 lbs. 7 oz., and the boy followed at 12:23 a.m., weighing 6 lbs.
“Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon,” Lopez’s manager Simon Fields tells PEOPLE exclusively.
They’re the first children for Lopez, 38, and the fourth and fifth for Anthony, 39. The couple celebrated the impending births with a baby shower in New York on Jan. 19. “They were just beaming the entire time,” said one partygoer.
Longtime friend Leah Remini calls Lopez “a born mom” and very nurturing. “With our daughter, she’s so great. I mean, lets her go in her closet and play with her coats or her jewelry. She’s just so giving and loving,” Remini said.Lopez announced her pregnancy Nov. 8, telling the crowd during her final Miami concert: “Marc and I are expecting a baby!” The news of twins was finally confirmed by Lopez’s dad earlier this month, in an interview on Spanish-language television.
