Madonna has reportedly asked Britney Spears to join her on tour, in a bid to help the troubled star resurrect her singing career.

The Material Girl hitmaker is set to meet with Spears in New York on Sunday to record a video, which will be broadcast on big screens during her upcoming Sticky and Sweet tour, due to kick off on August 23rd.

And according to reports, the 49-year-old has even invited the Toxic star to join her onstage at some of her world tour dates.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, “They are recording a video together on Sunday that will provide the backdrop for part of Madonna’s show. And they are talking about Britney taking the stage on a few of the dates too. It’s hoped that Madonna can help Britney get back to her old self.”

The singers previously stunned fans at the 2003 MTV Music Awards when they shared a passionate kiss onstage.

Madonna has released an exclusive statement to People, denying that she is divorcing Guy Ritchie or having an affair with Yankee star Alex Rodriguez.

In it, she says: “My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce. I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study.”

Alex Rodriguez’s wife Cynthia blamed the rumored affair for the demise of her marriage to the slugger, sources say.

Amid growing buzz of divorce, the singer’s rep had earlier issued a denial that the singer and her husband of over seven years, Guy Ritchie, were splitting.

The singer, who is no stranger to rumors, also says: “I have learned over the years not to take accusations and the many false reports about me very seriously. I also appreciate how fiction and fact seem to be perceived as one and the same by people who read both newspapers and the internet.”

Lenny Kravitz has denied rumors he is having an affair with the wife of baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

Rodriguez’s relationship with his wife Cynthia has been at the centre of mounting speculation following rumors of infidelity.

And when Kravitz was seen accompanying the New York Yankees star’s wife during a recent stay in Paris, France, gossips suggested the pair was involved in a secret romance.

But the rocker insists the relationship is purely platonic.

He tells Us Weekly, “There is absolutely no affair between Cynthia Rodriguez and myself. This is unequivocally one hundred per cent not true. Cynthia is a friend and (she) is here with the godfather of her baby, who is Alex’s trainer, his wife and their baby girl. She came here to escape from everything happening in New York City. I opened my home to her as a friend.”

The same day news of her relationship with New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez spread, Madonna stepped out holding hands with husband Guy Ritchie in New York City.

Looking tense, Ritchie, 39, carried the singer’s over-sized Louis Vuitton bag as they headed into her Central Park West apartment following dinner Tuesday night. Madonna, 49, who appeared exhausted, covered her mouth.

The two usually enter their building through a side door but walked through the front door for photographers.

The couple — who were last photographed together June 3 after dining at Italian eatery Locanda Locatelli in London — have been dogged by split rumors lately.

The venerable Times of London reported that the singer consulted the same high-profile divorce attorney who worked with Paul McCartney and Prince Charles.

Us Weekly also reports that the singer has also been hosting late-night visits from Rodriguez, 32, at her apartment.

A source tells Us that their relationship grew so close, he he even visited her, possibly as early as the night after his wife Cynthia gave birth to their first child in April.

Despite Madonna’s rep downplaying their relationship, it is clear that the singer and ballplayer have gotten tight.

Rodriguez — who shares the same manager, Guy Osery, as Madonna — hit an after-party for Richie’s film Revolver.

They also dined together — along with Osery — February 17 at Girgio Baldi in Santa Monica.

That same month, Madonna even introduced Rodriguez to her daughter Lourdes at a United Nations benefit for her Raising Malawi charity and UNICEF.

“This is Alex,” she said to Lourdes, New York’s Daily News reports. “He’s a baseball player.”

“Maybe you can come and see me play sometime,” he told an unimpressed Lourdes.

“She’s not that into baseball,” Madonna replied.

Rodriguez also attended her concert at Roseland Ballroom in April and later tried to dirty dance with her at NYC hot spot The Box.

On June 22, Madonna, her kids and Osery all sat in Rodriguez’s Yankee Stadium box seats during a game against the Boston Red Sox.

Rumors of a split between Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie are refusing to go away – despite the star issuing a statement dismissing speculation about a possible divorce.

The couple has been under intense media scrutiny amid rumors they are allegedly on the verge of a permanent split.

And the Material Girl’s publicist Liz Rosenberg attempted to set the record straight earlier this week – insisting that there are no plans for a divorce.

But the statement has failed to quash speculation about the state of the pair’s marriage, with new reports suggesting the star is putting off making an official announcement until after she has completed her upcoming Sweet & Sticky world tour later this year.

A source tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, “Trust me, it’s over. Why else would they both consult divorce lawyers? Madonna hates being pushed into a corner and would hate other people having the satisfaction of saying, ‘We told you so.’ The announcement will be slipped out after her tour – as planned.”

It would not be the first time the pop star has attempted to keep big news quiet. In 2006, at the height of speculation that Madonna was to adopt a child from Malawi, Rosenberg issued a statement on behalf of the singer vehemently denying the adoption rumors.

Madonna’s representatives have fired back at allegations the pop star endangered the safety of pedestrians after telling her drivers to get her to a New York rehearsal on time at any cost.

The singer, who is currently in New York rehearsing for her upcoming Sticky and Sweet tour, allegedly told her chauffeur to run red lights and use “lights and sirens” to get her to studios on time, according to reports.

But a spokesperson for Madonna has dismissed the claims, stating, “I can’t imagine they would go through red lights unless there was a dire security emergency. But I’m sure she is transported with utmost respect for other people.”
