Liv Tyler feared she’d frightened off one of her father Steven Tyler’s beloved cranes when her pet dog went crazy on his farm just outside Boston, Massachusetts recently.

The actress reveals her rocker dad keeps chickens and turkeys on his rural retreat but his prized possessions are two African cranes that were given to him as a gift.

The Stealing Beauty star says, “I always keep him (dog) on a leash and he escaped and went straight down and scared them (the poultry) all and the African cranes started, like, jumping up and one of them escaped and flew away. I thought, ‘Oh my God, my dad’s gonna kill me.’ I started running up to the house kinda like, ‘Dad, the African crane escaped.’”

But the exotic bird obviously likes life with the Aerosmith frontman – he flew back.

Like father, like daughter? No way, says Liv Tyler.

The Incredible Hulk star won’t be following in the footsteps of rocker Steven Tyler – or the man she called dad for a decade, musician Todd Rundgren.

“”I don’t want to surprise or shock,” Tyler tells the July issue of British Cosmopolitan . “And I don’t have any urge to run naked along a beach or get drunk at a party.”

And since separating from her husband of five years, Spacehog singer Royston Langdon, the 30-year-old says her life as a single mom to son Milo, 3, has become even more domestic.

“I live quietly in New York, out of the public eye. I don’t go out much,” she explains. “My favorite nights are staying in watching TV or going to a movie and eating popcorn.”

Tyler had a decidedly rock ‘n’ roll childhood with mom Bebe Buell (a former Playboy centerfold). She was raised as the daughter of rocker Rundgren – until discovering, in 1988, that the Aerosmith frontman was her real biological father.

“I love my parents, but I’ve never wanted my son Milo, who’s three now, to be brought up in the same way as me,” she tells the mag. “I’m not attacking them for it, I just wanted a different way for my son.”

As for her own unconventional upbringing, Tyler admits she’s no longer close to Rundgren. “The saddest thing about the whole episode is that Todd is not part of our lives now,” she says. “I think he was unhappy with me learning the truth. He was a wonderful father to me.”

And Tyler? “I’m definitely critical of him sometimes,” she says. “Like when his pants are too tight!”

Liv Tyler’s model sister Mia once considered killing herself during a long battle with depression.

The 29-year-old came closest to ending her life eight years ago, when she found herself sat on the balcony of a Hollywood Hills estate – and contemplated jumping to her death.

Tyler, whose parents are Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler and actress Cyrinda Foxe, makes the revelation in her forthcoming memoir Creating Myself.

The plus-sized model writes, “I was going to kill myself. One thing I knew for sure: if I jumped, no one would find me at the bottom of the canyon. I sat down, and let my legs dangle over the edge. I puffed on a joint. I wondered if it was going to hurt. If it did, it wouldn’t matter for more than an instant, right?”

Tyler was saved by a cellphone call offering her a job as a MTV video jockey.

Liv Tyler is still hopeful about finding love – despite recently splitting from her husband Royston Langdon after five years of marriage.

The couple – who has a four-year-old son, Milo, together – wed in the Caribbean in 2003, but have been dogged by rumors of a split in recent months.

Tyler finally ended speculation about the state of their marriage in May by releasing a statement confirming she’d ended her relationship with the British rocker.

And the star insists that no matter how difficult the break-up has been, she won’t let it affect her future quests for love.

She says, “I give my heart completely to the experience. I fall in love and then it’s painful to move on. I say to myself, ‘Maybe I should be more guarded and protect my heart.’ But I just can’t do it. I’d rather live 100 percent and feel fully the sadness and loss than not have lived at all.”

Liv Tyler wants to reconcile with estranged husband Royston Langdon, just a month after they announced their separation, according to reports.

The actress ended speculation about the state of her five year marriage in May by releasing a statement confirming she’d split from the British rocker.

But sources tell Star magazine that Tyler has had a change of heart after chatting with married friend Gwyneth Paltrow, and now she wants to salvage her marriage for the sake of her three-year-old son Milo.

An insider tells the publication, “(She) is desperately sad and thinks she may have made (a) mistake. She now feels that no matter how bad it was, they can still make it work… Liv even suggested they (her and Langdon) go on a trip together.”

Liv Tyler is so scared of the paparazzi, she once “blacked out” after her family were pursued by them.

The Incredible Hulk star is not stranger to press interest – she is the daughter of legendary Aerosmith rocker Steve Tyler.

But Tyler draws the line at her son being photographed.

She says, “I have a couple of times had a reaction where I’ve just blacked out. Because they are scary sometimes, and as a mother you are so protective.”
