It’s official!! ‘The Comeback’ is coming back to HBO!

CULT-THE-COMEBACK2

This is the best news I’ve heard all day!! ‘The Comeback’ is coming back to HBO for six episodes! The Lisa Kudrow comedy will start shooting in May, with a Fall premiere in the works.

I am BEYOND excited – I loved this show when it was on! It didn’t last long enough, so I’m glad it’s coming back!

“It was almost too fun play Valerie Cherish the first time around,” Kudrow said in a statement. “I look forward to revisiting this resilient and ironically self-unaware character.”

When The Comeback returns for a limited series, former sitcom star Valerie Cherish (Kudrow) “thinks she has it all figured out this time,” HBO said in a release. “She doesn’t.”

“In the new episodes, Valerie continues her search to attain the spotlight, but this time around, it illuminates a whole new series of problems when she achieves the visibility she wants,” HBO’s official description reads.

“The Comeback holds a special place in the hearts of its many fans, including many of us here at HBO,” Michael Lombardo, president of programming at HBO, said in a statement. “I can’t wait to find out what Valerie’s been up to since we last met.”

This season of The Comeback will be written by King, Kudrow, Amy B. Harris and John Riggi. Confirmed cast members include Kudrow, Lance Barber, Bucatinsky, Robert Michael Morris, Laura Silverman and Damian Young. Malin Akerman and Kellan Lutz starred in the first season of The Comeback in 2005.

“I’m so excited to be working with Valerie Cherish again,”King said in a statement. “It’s great to be able to continue her story and I’m thrilled to have The Comeback come back to HBO, where it all started.”

SO EXCITED!!

Lisa Kudrow turns 50 today!

I was just going through pictures from last night’s CW, CBS and Showtime 2013 Summer TCA in Beverly Hills, and I saw these pictures of Lisa Kudrow. I can not believe she turns 50 today! Can you believe she’s that old?

Lisa was on hand to promote her show, ‘Web Therapy,’ which appears on Showtime. I guess season three premiered last week? I haven’t seen any episodes, is it good?

Lisa Kudrow: I’ll Get Surgery When I’m 60

Friends star Lisa Kudrow is proud of aging naturally in youth-obsessed Hollywood and has no plans to go under the knife, but even she admits, “It’s sometimes just hard to watch yourself.”

“I mean, look, time marches on. You can’t look 30 when you’re not,” she told New York Magazine. “I don’t even know what to say about it. [Cosmetic surgery] makes me nervous, that stuff.”

“But still, you want to look good. So it’s sometimes just hard to watch yourself, like, ‘Oh god, what’s happening to me?’ There’s a line between looking like yourself and looking like a character from a Batman movie.”

Refusing cosmetic surgery has had other benefits for the 46-year-old. “In Cougar Town I played a dermatologist, and so the only note I had on the script was that I have to say that I haven’t had any work done — it’s too noticeable not to mention. Boy, I really hope I can put it off until I’m 60 or 70. I’ll keep you posted.”

Talking of Cougar Town: “I think Courtney [Cox]’s hilarious in it,” says Lisa. “She’s not just a pretty girl; she’s really goofy and ridiculous.”

Meanwhile, the blonde is celebrating the success of hosting and producing her hit NBC show about celebrity genealogy, Who Do You Think You Are?.

“It’s going great — I mean, wow, much beyond our expectations, I have to say. I knew it was good, but the question was if enough people would show up on a Friday night to watch it — and then they did,” she says of the primetime gamble.

“I was always going to do an episode on myself, but I kept thinking, ‘Well, maybe they won’t get the records they need.’ It’s tough to find Eastern European records on Jewish people.”

She also reveals which celebrity’s journey was her favorite: “Emmitt Smith, he was fantastic. How complicated is it that the person who owned your family is also your great-great grandfather?

“And he responded really clearly, like, ‘I’m glad that my heart’s not like his. And I’m glad he doesn’t know me’.”
